>install new ram
>break motherboard

>not having dual bios

>not having one of these

too expensive

>not just downloading RAM to save the hassle of manual installation

how does this happen?

>too expensive
>rather buys a new mobo

Checked

Poor soul.

>install graphics card
>pci-e slot breaks from the weight because i forgot to screw it in

>Runs Chkdsk
>1 bad sector

>not just downloading RAM
stop this stupidity

Get a used one and buy a

>figure I'll update my bios because why not
>look up how to do it
>seems to be mostly automated
>download new version from manfacturer's webstie
>like I said it seems easy enough, all I have to do is make sure the power doesn't go out or something
>run the program
>its doing its thing
>"Update complete! Please restart."
>Wow that really was easy!
>Motherboard is bricked.

>BIOS update
> system not on UPS
(you) did this to yourself. No sympathy in the slightest.

This is the correct reply.

>not protecting expensive PC with < $100 power conditioning.

Hard drives exist in two states, dead and dying.

>Not having an ASUS with Bios Flashback

kek kys

I've fried my BIOS updates so many times on my Asus ROG board, I just put the bios on a USB stick and hold down the rear button and it flashes the bios regardless.

Dumb pleb kys

pajeet?

>have one of these
>plug everything into the wrong side
>power goes out
Great, now I paid $60 to look like an idiot.

>Put PC into sleep mode
>It won't wake up

I agree. It seems pretty stupid that people actually physically buy RAM and install it when they could just download it. Digital distribution is better 99%of the time.

The doctors did that with my grandfather.

Why do you do a bios update in the middle of a storm?
Seems like a dumb thing to do.

Don't motherboards have force bios update jumper?

Retards just don't know about the stupid cheap steam RAM sales. They can't help it... Some people are meant to be the retards.

>what is a SOIC clip

its like "install gentoo" and "x is a botnet"
just say it often enough and people believe it
that is how Sup Forums works

>realize i need to do something before work the next day
>oh, i'll just do it quickly while having breakfast
>Windows is installing update 2 of 106... This may take a while

probably not QVL ram

THREAD SOLVED

imagine being stupid enough to update bios from windows desktop

>install non-QVL RAM
>wait weeks later
>non-QVL is now listed as QVL.
Gee thanks AMD and Asrock.

in laptops tho it has to be

meant for

Is this even a problem anymore?

Most motherboards have dual bios and some even have a factory reset option AND auto restore from a particular USB port.

>havent touched my computer in months
>realize i need to do something before work the next day
>oh, i'll just do it quickly while having breakfast
>Windows is installing update 2 of 106... This may take a while

>Shut down and update winblows 10 option and leave for work
>Come back to turn on computer
>''updating this may take a few hours''

>install an SSD
>only takes a few minutes

It was on an SSD

Maybe you should try an SSD that's faster than an SD card then.

>install motherboard, cpu, heatsink, RAM, psu and FP connectors
>forget 1 single fucking motherboard standoff near pci-express lanes
FUCK

>buy one
>battery fails a few years later
>not needed even once
Got memed by pajeets

This is why I buy the parts and have someone else assemble them like a computer store.
if any of the parts get messed up they have to pay for it.

The only thing I do is change is RAM/GPU/HDD or SSD.

What is UPS.

Seriously, people who are this tech illiterate shouldn't browse a tech board.

>I'm poor: The post
Last battery change, 2009.
Still holds 8 minutes on a 600W load.

>CPU fan/heat sink blocks ram

>install radiator
>fug forgot fan plug
>unscrew plug in install radiator
>fug forgot 12V lane
>mfw

>TFW you finally got quints

>put pc on sleep mode
>it turns back on hours later and bsods

>set jumper to boot backup BIOS
>nothin personnel kid

so hook up an spi flasher and fix it, what the fuck is your problem

What

Use BTRFS or ZFS.

>install penis in little sister
>fug forgot mom was home and my door was open

>so hook up an spi flasher
What if the chip is DIP32 or PLCC?

definitely still Sup Forums

Congrats, OP. I've always believed in you.

>The only thing I do is change is RAM/GPU/HDD or SSD
That's pretty much everything now though...

I thought being on that list just means it was tested to work at whatever clock speed it's rated for with the board. How would that kill a motherboard? At worst it just wouldn't post.

You should probably learn to read first.
