Man of culture

why would you use anything else

Idk why I found this so funny, nice one user

i have my root user bright red so i dont fuck something up in 4am drunk

fight me

...

absolutely disgusting

why not just make a general and every cicle we make it themed for a certain program? fetch, desktop, terminal, text editor....

How often do you find yourself running this macro

>Not having conditional if to set red blinking prompt when drunk as root.

hello, here are my prompts

...

\w and \W

lolwut?

user@host [path] >

are you blind

>Fish
>Minimalism
Try again.

can you pass your wallpaper plz? owo

yeah, i wasn't saying that fish is minimalistic. quite the opposite actually.

The default prezto prompt, I think, although I changed the unicode characters to just be less/greater than signs. The short pwd is nice, as is the clear indicator of being in the line-editing mode (the last prompt pointing in the opposite direction is an example of that).

>this motherfucker again

The first number is the exit code. What I'd like is for nothing to show on 0. I know it's something to do with the precmd function but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Anyone able to help a brainlet out?

you confusing minimalism with nothingness, this is a wrong conclusion minimalism implying somthing that defines it but in your case its just something blue, it could be what ever you want it to be so the lack of definitions disqualifies it as a minimalist prompt.

...

do you really need that though?

Pipe to awk and remove if column 1 is 0

Forgot to say, pic not related. What i meant was that fish is not minimalistic as it's probably the most bloated shell.

thank you for posting please never stop

you have never and will never feel the tender caress of a real woman that love you. Your mom doesnt count. Ask me how I know.

...

I see you're running botnet

I too would like script plox

You don't even know how to use that.

I used to wonder why the Windows cmd is so shitty and lacking, but then I realized that it's because most of the users are too fucking stupid to use a command prompt anyways. So Microsoft has had zero reason to develop it.

...

You have to understand that windows cmd literally only exists to provide legacy support for windows programs dating back to 1981.
Windows does have it's own native shell, powershell, but nobody uses that shit because it's overly verbose garbage, and has been proprietary for most of it's existence.

The only real way to develop ON windows is to run a headless linux vm, forward port 22 to PuTTY and just crosscompile for windows with mingw-w64.

how to take a screenshot with the cursor showing? i just cant

hello, here are my promots

how to do the border transparent?

set
frame-opacity = 0.5;

oh well

...

where's your shell prompt though?

netsh winsock reset
Ipconfig /flushdns
adsutil
Ping -t
Shutdown -r -t 0
Color 02
Taskkill /f /im

...

serious question, how do you use a floating window manager with no handlebars?

>handlebars
>window manager

i3 using the mod key or not going full autistic and actually having margin that your pointer can grab

hello, here are my prompts

ƛ

why though?
why not another greek letter
why not another unicode character entirely
why would you use that one
that doesn't make any sense whatsoever

user, I know you're really really proud of learning how to write a shell script if statement but please stop showing off your ugly 2-line $PS1

>I know you're really really proud of learning how to write a shell script if statement
nani?
>please stop showing off your ugly 2-line $PS1
my 2-line PS1 has a reason and a purpose
and sorry if it's not as pretty as your standards prescribe, but when the shell prompt's in question, I care more for function over form

Sorry, meant to respond to ca

What does ins mean?
Why do you have a pathname subsitution for the word "anime" only?
why did you change all your 16 term colors to the same 3 shades of purple?
Why did you have to rice your $PS2 as well?

none of these things are even remotely conducive of "function over form".
What do you even do on your computer besides jerk off to anime?

People used to use monochrome terminals. Color in a terminal has very little function as long as you can tell everything apart in the ncurses linux config.

The better question is he didn't set is TERM to something that never had color in the first place to avoid light purple on light purple clusterfucks

>What does ins mean?
insert mode (I'm using Vi mode in bash)
normal (command) mode is indicated by [cmd]
>Why do you have a pathname subsitution for the word "anime" only?
I set my prompt to change into something cuter when I'm in my anime dir (because I can)
>why did you change all your 16 term colors to the same 3 shades of purple?
I didn't (maybe you should get your eyes checked, user)
>Why did you have to rice your $PS2 as well?
that's not the PS2 (actually, the PS2 is just a couple of spaces)
>none of these things are even remotely conducive of "function over form"
if you say so
>What do you even do on your computer besides jerk off to anime?
wouldn't you like to know?

>The better question is he didn't set is TERM to something that never had color in the first place to avoid light purple on light purple clusterfucks
that's my prompt for the tty, so naturally it only looks good in a tty

>inb4 you all laugh at me

## Set a custom prompt for interactive shells.

## COLOR prompt:
## Create items for prompt:
PS1="$(
if [[ $UID == 0 ]]
then (
## Root prompt items:
cust_user_P='\e[1;31m\u\e[0m'
cust_sign_P='@'
cust_host_P='\e[1;31m\h\e[0m'
cust_wdir_P='\e[1;37m\W\e[0m'
cust_exit_P='\e[1;33m$?\e[0m'
cust_hist_P='\e[1;35m!\!\e[0m'
cust_psym_P='\$'
echo "${cust_user_P}${cust_sign_P}${cust_host_P} ${cust_hist_P} ${cust_exit_P} ${cust_wdir_P}\n${cust_psym_P} "
)

else (
## User prompt items:
cust_user_P='\e[1;36m\u\e[0m'
cust_sign_P='@'
cust_host_P='\e[1;36m\h\e[0m'
cust_wdir_P='\e[1;37m\W\e[0m'
cust_exit_P='\e[1;33m$?\e[0m'
cust_hist_P='\e[1;35m!\!\e[0m'
cust_psym_P='\$'
echo "${cust_user_P}${cust_sign_P}${cust_host_P} ${cust_hist_P} ${cust_exit_P} ${cust_wdir_P}\n${cust_psym_P} "
)
fi
)"

that's pretty neat

The prompt, and the resulting PS1.

You're using bash but not \[ \] non-printable escape codes?

What does this look like?
And does text wrap into the next line correctly when typing?

...

making it prettier is too much work on windows.

>Two clocks

...

Is what it looks like. The text wraps just fine.

What is the alternative ?

Nice meme

...

Learn to spell her name correctly at least.
