which should I go with for 2018?
void and arch are simple and easy to use, nixos is interesting and fun but sometimes a pain the ass. I intend to study python in 2018. In b4 "install Gentoo". so which is it?
Nixos, void linux, or arch linux

macOS
Install Ubuntu, get i3 on ubuntu. That or arch.
install gentoo
I'd use KDE5(customized) + Arch
install gentoo :^)
srsly tho, get nixos if you want immutability at the core of your OS. Otherwise go arch, manjaro if too lazy to actually go through the installation process (like me)
Arch is good if you want to quickly set up a custom system. However gentoo may be comfier as USE flags are really interesting
If youre using only the needed use flags then you can save 1-2 GB of ram while using KDE (compared to arch), also entire system works waaay faster
Arch if you count on being productive. Aur is actually useful
this.
damn, no love for void? no systemd and easier to control/know what services are running
Install Void Linux.
Whats so good about void?

b-b-braaaaaaaaainlet
Happy penguin
youtu.be
Its a neato video bout this shit
he's back on Arch
It works, it's fast and the logo is fucking cool.
magically fixed my suspend/shutdown problems. Thanks void linux
I like void more than arch.
But I'm switching back to arch due to the amazing wiki.
It's quite something and helps with any issues that may arise.
This
This.
Congratulations on your god-tier setup user.
Congratulations to you as well user.
>I intend to study python in 2018
So what will you be doing onward from the 2nd of January?
probably not studying anything and distro hopping in all honesty. i "teach" at a "college" in Japan and would like to change careers despite my advanced age, within the next year or two
Artix, Void or NixOS
In order from least hipster and hard to most hipster and hard
Don't fall for the systemd jew in Arch
nixos depends on systemd
Most of Arch wiki applies to void.
You can seriously do 1-9 in an afternoon and then just target libraries you want to use in your job/projects.
>That ram...
Install something else, seriously...get a new browser if it's taking up all that ram
Install Arch OP
install guixSD
