shit package manager still can't figure out how to install ruby

SJWshit/10

Just because you're a retard doesn't mean everyone else is

>can't install Ruby but it's the distro that's SJW
kek

you clearly cannot take jokes

You need to make a joke before you can call it one

I don't like void because the logo is ugly

Sorry we're not all as retarded as you are.

Systemd masterrace disapproves this

But I'am.

>the absolute state of Sup Forums

what's this bar?

Polybar
github.com/Smatchcube/Rice

nice rice

They have a forum for a reason....

But this is useless to shill on their forum.

>not just using debian netinst

T-Thank you user

NixOS.

>install
>brightness keys dont work but volume buttons work
>wifi works but it cant understand ethernet cable
>muh special commands in terminal

Whew lad garbage OS

Fedora is the best distro.

Using a minimalist distro without using the terminal.
Go back to gaybian or niggOS fucking brainlet

no it's not

Thats a funny way of spelling manjaro

>>Not using the best distro

because manjaro exist you nigger

Wrong image

but it's not ugly.
>hurr durr im so retarded i cant use a shell
fuck off retard
manjaro fags get out

Unable to locate 'screenfetch' in repository pool.

$ xbps-query -Rs screenfetch
[-] screenFetch-3.8.0_2 Bash screenshot information tool

Upper case F in the name, void maintener is autistic so he use the repo name from github for every packages.

this is a good thing

>using lainuz

I like systemdick in my ass

I typically hate the color green, but they actually use ok shades of it. Mint on the other hand...

>stupid name
>special snowflake distro
>lack of decent documentation
more like void of practical purpose

niggers in Sup Forums still haven't learned that the best and actually only good discro is the one I use.

faggots

>special snowflake distro
give me 3 reasons why void is a snowflake distro.

how do you get Firefox tabs to be black themed?

does void have support for any lsm system?

lack of systemd prevents me from using it on anything other than single board computers like raspberry pis. The developer is a smart guy and xbps is great to use but I just can't take it seriously if it doesn't have things like systemd and selinux/apparmor.

based response

systemd is lung cancer, and you are its marlboro shill
did poettering give you aids for making this post?

you're stupid

but it does have systemd optionally

give me 3 reasons to use void over gentoo

are you this guy? if yes, you are retarded calling void snowflake while using gentoo, and the argument was not 'void vs gentoo'.

I cannot give you 3 reasons to use void over gentoo, in fact, I have been wanting to try to install gentoo for a while, and I respect the meme, however void is not a snowflake distro.

It is as easy to install as debian, you literally don't need to enter 1 command the whole install, it is very lightweight, comes with very few packages, it is rolling release for those who need it, no systemd for those who don't want it. It is pretty much an un-autistic arch.

It's not even the distros fault.....
If you can't understand how to configure a DE/WM then you should stick to something with sane defaults. Like Ubuntu.

>best distro
No, there's the small problem regarding the ethnicity of the devs.

but I am

Void really is a meme, and I fell for it. It nearly forces you to use GRUB (which doesn't work because I don't use "muh UEFI") and provides no support for installing other bootloaders.

As if that bullshit wasn't bad enough, Even after spending several days, I couldn't get ALSA nor PulseAudio to work correctly on Void. I was stuck with half-working audio. I abandoned it for Gentoo, and audio literally worked flawlessly out of the box after I emerged ALSA. I also got actual instructions for installing a bootloader that worked with system. Don't fall for the Void meme, install Gentoo, it just werks.

Yeah, I don't understand writing the name of the product on the logo.

You only consider it the best distro because few people use it. Be careful, with this rate of shilling you may be forced to find a less mainstream distro soon.

bmup

Void is still worthy as a musl distro.
t. another gentoo user (for 1 year so far)

it looks even worse on *fetch

No packages

>he forgot to activate the service
>blames the distro

i do. since about 4 years.

I mainly use it because no systemd
Its also fairly minimal
Repo could be bigger though but has the essential stuff
Some kernel updates mess with my wifi for some reason, really rustles my jimmies sometimes

>no i fucking didn't
audio worked for only one program at a time

Maybe you're just retarded

maybe void linux is just shit

Maybe you're just retarded

I actually have Void installed on my Raspberry Pi 2; it had rock solid stability and it's probably the only distro worth using on it. Probably great as a server OS but I can't see any reason to use it on desktop/laptop.

>Installed this joke with cinnamon on my WM.
>Cinnamon crashes on startup.
Your "best distro" cant even handle DE what some frankendebian called Linux Mint uses without any problem..

>can't install void
>can install and use gentoo
>"void is difficult and bad gentoo just werkz!"

>muh systemd sucks

I really want to use Void and I did for a while (loved it too) but I switched to Ubuntu because I want an actual OS with good graphical configuration and OOTB DE from the bottom up. I use i3 but i3 alone for a modern multimedia tower is too bare, I want to boot up GNOME when my bluetooth stops working and use an actual bluetooth settings panel instead of the fuck-up that is blueman.

Artix or Void?
I don't want systemd

but if it's SJW, how come it's refusing to install Steven Universe

But I am...

...

>It nearly forces you to use GRUB (which doesn't work because I don't use "muh UEFI")
wat?? GRUB supports both BIOS and UEFI.

that's Cinnamon for you. Unstable and unusable DE that only works on Mint

Try gentoo or CloverOS -- It's 100% Pooettering free

Sweet font rendering

>It nearly forces you to use GRUB and provides no support for installing other bootloaders
just install it manually like arch and use other bootloader
wiki.voidlinux.eu/Install_LVM_LUKS just a few commands, skip lvm and luks parts

>which doesn't work (grub) because I don't use "muh UEFI"
works for me, propably your fault

>I couldn't get ALSA nor PulseAudio to work correctly on Void
wiki.voidlinux.eu/PulseAudio
also they are adding support for sndio to packages

Which wm is that

muh flags
muh use flags

Are you mentally challenged?

What area of computing is void trying to cater?

Easy fix if you're not a lazy fuck.

If we're competent enough to look at the website, you'd know that it's a general purpose distro.

I believe the famous hacker known as Sup Forums more than random websites on the internet

But how?

>muh flags
github.com/voidlinux/void-packages/blob/master/etc/defaults.conf#L22
>muh use flags
github.com/voidlinux/void-packages/blob/master/Manual.md#build_options
github.com/voidlinux/void-packages/blob/master/etc/defaults.conf#L88

Is this meme the new Arch? Fuck man

Is Alpine Linux better than this?

Void is out-of-the-box.

>Sweet font rendering

This user's font rendering is better:

If you are serious, can you elaborate on what you're saying? What sort of features do you use from systemd that you would be missing here?

What a weird post. Gentoo is fine, too. Both are in the top 5 best distros.

>I want to boot up GNOME when my bluetooth stops working and use an actual bluetooth settings panel instead of the fuck-up that is blueman.
Not trying to be condescending when I say this, but you can use any program from a DE outside that DE as long as it is still installed. For example, it's somewhat common to use xfce4-screenshooter on openbox and i3. Here's what you do:
>start gnome
>open the program(s) you want to be able to find on i3
>run 'xprop | grep -i class' in a terminal
>click on the program
>it should output the name of the program
brad@kazuki:~/ > xprop | grep -i class
WM_CLASS(STRING) = "urxvt", "URxvt"
brad@kazuki:~/ > xprop | grep -i class
WM_CLASS(STRING) = "gl", "mpv"

Here's an example of the output. I clicked on urxvt and then mpv. You probably just want something like gnome-settings or something, but best to find out the exact name. From there, you can just launch it with dmenu/rofi/any terminal emulator.

Getting used to something like i3 is basically learning which specific actual programs you need and use so you can launch them without digging through menus.

It's what Arch should've been. It's minimal, has no systemd, uses libressl instead of openssl (you'd normally have to compile all relevant programs to have libressl, but all void binaries have been compiled that way for you), has its own really good package manager, and it's surprisingly stable. I'm not one to perpetuate the Arch instability meme, but I don't even really have anything to nitpick with Void in regards to stability.

I learned of both from the same person. I would say Void is much more usable.

I am using mint

>pic not related

How is void SJW?
