typically if output from one or more drivers is cutting out it's a crossover problem. If the distortion is constant it could be the drivers, esp at high output (voice coil rubbing or damaged tweeter diaphragms).

Look inside the cabinet and see if there is any bulging capacitors or fried resistors.

coiled cables are trash for portable use imo

MSR7 aren't that comfortable. Using my K612 atm because they are getting super sweaty because its getting too hot. But in terms of sound quality MSR7 are much better

Because there's not much point in $1600 collecting dust as opposed to $200. Plus the 6XX have a better frequency response, and there isn't much use for a 'wide' stage for an accessory to speakers. I use them when I want the music to be closer and more intimate.

I've had a few spills but either way the vinyl acts as a protective layer.
