Apple HomePod or Echo?

What does Sup Forums think of these? Should I pull the trigger on an Amazon Echo or wait for the Apple HomePod? I'd probably use it for music, but I don't really use Spotify - I use my iTunes library.

Don't get either of them. Keep the botnet out of your home.

Echo but use a raspberry pi to build it.

>i willingly put a microfone connected to the internet i have no control over in my house

Use a raspberry pie to build it? What?

I think big brother has better things to do than listen to me make sandwiches.

Is everyone on Sup Forums a conspiracy theorist?

>he's this much of a consumerist whore

>I've got nothing to hide!!!
>Wait, what? What's this thing you installed in my home?
>"It's a recording device that catches you doing wrongthink or wrongspeak"
>"Didn't you say you had nothing to hide, Mr. Smith?"

>namefagging with a real first name (even if it isn't your real name)
>trying to imply that your personal information isn't valuable to advertisers and corporations
>trying to imply that personal assistants aren't used for data mining
>trying to imply that any of this is far fetched
>on fucking Sup Forums no less
Wow, it's bait.

Google home

I'm a consumerist whore because I asked you what the fuck you're talking about? Sorry I'm not too cool - I don't know what raspberry pi or pie is. If it's slang or not.

I forgot about that one. Do you know if it works with iTunes?

>on Sup Forums
>has never heard of a Raspberry Pi
>doesn't know how to use a search engine
More b8

>Apple HomePod or Echo?
Privacy.

Dude. Grow the fuck up.

Doubt it, but Google play music is the exact same

Echo is shit, wait for the release then actual reviews of the HomePod.

Not bait. And no - don't know rasp pi and don't care. Not going to take the time to search either.

Thanks. I'm a fan of Apple(according to people on here that makes me a consumerist whore), but I'm also wary of buying a 1st gen anything.

You can stream via Bluetooth

...

>N-no goyim! No! Don't you know that you'll get JUDGED if you're not on the botnet? Bad goy! Bad goy! What will OTHER PEOPLE think? G-grow up! Be an adult! Being an adult means buying pretty expensive things! Good goy!
You reached extreme levels of consumerist whoring. I'm starting to think this is bait. Anywho, how does it feel getting raped in the ass by big tech?

No one gives a fuck who you are. Sorry to bust your bubble - you're not important.

>on a technology board
>doesn't care about technology
Sup Forums isn't a consumer review board. Fuck off back to wherever you came from
>that makes me a consumerist whore
It also makes you a stupid faggot.

Being an adult doesn't mean buying pretty expensive things. It does mean not trolling someone asking a question about digital assistants though.

And how about the smaller brother that got in the line?
Do you actually trust those companies security that much, even after leak on leak on leak on leak on leak?

Alright, Mark, you're not getting the point. When they data mine you they're not looking for specific people, they're looking for anyone they can get. Personal data of any kind is so valuable because it can be used for marketing or to look out for certain trends; what you search, what you buy, what you do, what you say. When this becomes a political issue, and someone wants to silence you, what's stopping them from using your personal data against you? You should be using a device, you shouldn't be connected to the device.
Being an adult also means you find out shit yourself using a simple fucking google search.

No, but my day to day habits and activities are. They can be collected, put in a database, and sold to the highest bidder. My information, along with the information of people similar to me, can then be used to develop targeted advertisements. If you buy any of these home assistants, I can guarantee you that your information is being sold. The things you mutter to yourself or say to your family will be used to target you with advertisements. You cannot opt out of this, because buying the home assistant is when you opt in. At least being spied on is a little convenient though, right?

Who made the computer you're using right now? What? A corporation. Guess you're a consumerist faggot too.

Being an adult also means you find out shit yourself using a simple fucking google search.

That's fair.

>When this becomes a political issue, and someone wants to silence you, what's stopping them from using your personal data against you?

This is where you get a little bit nutty. I also don't see how you all hate on digital assistants, talk about Big Brother, data mining, etc., but you do ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING ON YOUR FUCKING CELL PHONES anyway. How is that different?

Well, the case was made by Cooler Master, the CPU and GPU were made by AMD, the motherboard was made by MSI, the hard drive and solid state drive were made by Samsung, the PSU was made by Corsair, and the CPU fan and heatsink was made by Cooler Master as well. I put everything together though. So I guess I'm just an efficiency and money saving whore.

Thanks, homie.

Thanks!

Samsung. You corporate cocksucking faggot. Samsung is now monitoring your every movement so they can fuck your mom.

Yeah - I don't really care if I get ads targeted at me. I don't think that's a big deal. I mean - I'd rather have ads for stuff I might actually buy.

So you're willing to give up your privacy in the name of helping corporations turn a profit?

i was going to make this macro if i never saw it, saved
