Got an Android Nexus 6

Okay so I got a Nexus 6 to replace my old iPhone 5
Can someone explain to me why the fuck is there something much lag and what can I do about it, this shit can barely send messages on Snapchat and videos are out of the question, on top of that WhatsApp lags just to read messages
Droidfags, either give me a fix or accept that Android is gay

kill yourself, frogshitter

>Why the fuck is there something much lag
Why is there so much lag*
It even lags on Sup Forums to the point autocorrect doesn't work properly

qUALITY THREAD, YOU DESERVE A (yOU) WITH INVERTED CAPS LOCK

Oh that explains everything, thanks guys my phone runs like butter now!

WHY DID YOU BUY A THREE YEAR OLD PHONE?
Also, if you insist keeping it, flash a custom ROM.

Look dude I'm sorry I'm a wagecuck, it's a Nexus so I thought it can't be bad but I'll try custom ROMs, though how will they help since isn't Google already putting stock Android on nexus'

No problem. It's not about stock Android or not — custom ROMs are ‘stock’ too — it's about optimisations, updates, future-proofing and performance. I recommend LineageOS, it's the best custom ROM.

this. i recommend a pure nexus rom.

lineage is bloat that adds a bunch of stupid, unwanted behavior that you have to navigate settings for hours to remove or understand

If he bought a 3 year old iPhone he'd have better performance and would receive official support for longer.

Any really unbloated rom?

pure nexus. also has great performance and just a couple extra features that i really like and don't get in the way.

Buy xiaomi next time

some more notes if you've never rooted before:

you'll need to use a root permissions manager. whatever guide you follow may recommend using SuperSU. make sure you use Magisk instead. this will let you hide the fact that your device is rooted. some apps will block you from using them if you're rooted (netflix, pokemon go)

consider removing forced encryption now because it requires a full wipe (including images) so it gets hard to do later. but this will greatly improve performance (may reduce stability though so be careful).

pure nexus is one great rom but you can read about many others on xda and try them out. pretty fun if you've got some time on your hands. give lineage a try as well, maybe you'll like it.

pure nexus is dead, wait till the next xda firmware is released

Have you tried installing Gentoo?

>buy a 5s
>it works like the day it was released
>buy a three year old andloo
>LOL Y U BUYING OLD PHONES RETARD

The state of loogle

it hasn't been updated in a little bit but it's still a very good rom. doesn't need to be updated often.

i'm wary about oreo on a nexus 6 anyways since it was never officially released.

I’m using PureNexus 6.0.1 on my Nexus 7 2012 and it’s made a massive different.

I went through all the Nougat ROMs and the slowdowns were insane. Also tried CrDroid and things like that. I’ve been tempted to update it with the most recent security updates but I don’t know how to build android roms or slip the updates in or how easy it would be.

Thanks guys, I'll try and install Nexus rom after rooting

>Blocked from Pokemon go and Netflix
Oh how catastrophic
>Remove forced encryption
What about security, will I be seriously compromised? Would viruses be more effective or is it just irl that's compromised

Does nougat cause majority of the lag?

My even older N5 works just fine

>>Blocked from Pokemon go and Netflix
>Oh how catastrophic
other things too. it takes zero effort to use magisk instead of supersu so there's no point in using an inferior product.

>>Remove forced encryption
>What about security, will I be seriously compromised? Would viruses be more effective or is it just irl that's compromised
if your phone gets stolen by a tech savvy person they may be able to get past your password or grab your files.

it also makes it easier for the fbi to read data off of it if they confiscate it.

I just think the hardware can’t support the newer features it has, and it wasn’t well optimised by the ROM makers because of the outdated hardware and old drivers.

I would be on a 4.4.4 KitKat ROM but there’s newer features which are really desirable. Plus I strongly dislike holo compared to material design. Also some apps won’t work on KitKat which do on Lollipop and up.

>this is the iq of the average frogposter

Seems fine, I don't store anything particularly important on my phone
