What temps is your GPU staying at when you have it Overclocked, like that?

low 60's in games after hours of playing, never seen it go above 65C, but the weather has been cool, so maybe in the summer it might get to 70C

1600 is a upgrade from sandy bridge in gaming performance and a downgrade from the 6700k in multi threaded work loads in my own personal exp, 1700x wouldnt do shit when rendering and 6700k would get it done stupidly quick

wtf are you on about, they recomend ryzen often, it's just that it's not the ultimate performer, so when you watch a review and at the end they talk about what is the flat out best it's usually going to be intel in some form or another, except for specific workstation tasks and budgets.

I don't do the "just wait" game. If I intend to buy, I buy here and now. Besides, not like Intel makes any major gains from chip to chip.
I can stretch my budget for coffee lake. It's not a problem. However I'm only playing at 1440p 60hz. So the FPS gain from Intel vs AMD is lost on me. I'll probably get a 1500X. Are quad cores still good for gaming these days? I can get an R3-1300X and decent B350 mITX board for $180 total.

I've been really happy with it even cranked up to turbo speeds it doesn't drain the battery so quick

It is my first build but "meme parts" were never the focus. Focus was quality where it counts so I could have a fast functional pc for years to come. 650w is overkill but it was an 80 plus gold on sale so I picked it up. Mobo is also overkill but can achieve higher clocks with more stability, also M.2 NVME is super responsive and fast and makes for a much better experience with anything I do. 212 cooler was on sale for 15 dollars so I couldn't pass that up. Biggest mistake I feel I made is not getting faster ram, and getting a shitty case because it was dort cheap. Once I upgrade to a better monitor, I'll fix that stuff for you.

first i've heard of intel microstuttering at higher refresh, no problems here other than my GPU would be underpowered if I played games that actually use it and turned up settings

Ryzen is actually really nice I have my 1600 overclocked to 3.80 GHz at 1.35v and it doesn't get over 70°C on the Wraith cooler with two Fractal Design case fans.
