Sup Forums how much information do you think can the NSA and it's counterparts dig on a :

1. everything
2. everything after installing a legal backdoor major ISPs
>implying such a backdor is not already active 24/7
3. still everything relevant to them

what if 2 or 3 guy is in a third world shithole?

e.g. the know you posted here

you know, after thinking about this.. i think your safe in a third world shithole if youre not a complete retard

Probably, then again, intel agencies aren't omnipotent after all.

but what are their actual capabilities?

>Third point, still everything
What about this:
- use free as in freedom laptop with libreboot and GNU/Linux without any proprietary software
- connect only to public wifi
- never connect to same wifi without spoofing your MAC address
Where's any correlation to associate this behaviour to a person?

region based IP? always coming from this particular city/regioin

region/website ratio

if a bunch of IPs connect to Sup Forums for example all day everyday you'd know someone is doing something

this

also, a single cookie can make you traceable

>cookies even enabled
even normies know about cookies and privacy

the paranoid are going to be browsing with scripts disabled and spoofed headers

That's not much. If constantly changing location where you connect from.
Specifically if it's from big city.

I assumed there's not necessary to mention obvious security breaches.

Also, how would even NSA, link various websites to public wifis and assume it's same person?
I think in this scenario NSA (or other triple letter agency) should already know what they're looking for.

>1. Pretty much anything they want.
>2. Pretty much anything they want.
>3. Pretty much anything they want.

The only difference between these 3 is how much time, money, and effort its going to take in order to get said information. The goal isn't to make it impossible to get the info, but to make it not worth the effort that it would take.

Yeah I feel like if the NSA/CIA wanted to own you they would

Another thing:
Anyone knows anything about typing patterns being unique?
Few years ago I read an article about that, how google can trace anyone using google search based only on typing habits.
Would be interesting to write a script to obfuscate that.

Browsers leak a ton of information that can be used to uniquely identify you

This coming from someone with OCD who also once had an obsession with being under the radar; they know. They will always know. The only way to truly be out of the radar is not being on the game at all (stop using the internet). If you connect twice with the same device there is a chance they will know. The thing is not giving them a reason to target you.

the real goal is to just not end up on their radar to begin with

you have to do some absolutely serious shit for the NSA/CIA to bother with you. As we've seen, the FBI is far less capable and the NSA/CIA seem to share very little with them. If you do end up as their target you're fucked and essentially no amount of preventative measures is going to stop them, given their capabilities and resources

Presuming they had unlimited time, money, and human resources, they would. But they can't send an agent to live next door to you and monitor you 24/7 just to make sure that you aren't doing anything. Security practices means that they have to prioritize who they want to do that to. A suspected terrorist cell will take priority to, say, a child pornography ring, which will take priority to someone who pirates a few movies per week.

If they suspect you of doing shit that threatens national security, then they will find out if you are. That said, just like in a prison shower, just because you know that a group of men can gang up and rape you at any time doesn't mean that you're going to make it easy for them. You'll join another crew if possible, be careful not to drop the soap, pick your moments to expose yourself, etc. That's all good security practices do.

>using an obfuscater puts you in a small category of obfuscater users
ahhhhhHHH I'VE GOT TO BREAK FREE!!!!!

a lot of these horrors about tracking through typing habits or mouse movements can be stopped dead in their tracks by just disabling scripts. Along with almost all other fingerprinting methods.

yes you'll lose some big normie websites, but they're usually shit to begin with.

and i seriously hope no one thinks they post on Sup Forums anonymously

I'm relatively anonymous to the US government on here. VPN based out of Hong Kong. China might know what I'm doing, but they have no reason to cooperate with the US so long as I'm not doing anything that threatens the interests of China/Hong Kong.

>block cookies
>dont install flash, ever
>spoof or block canvasing
>spoof header to generic firefox on win7
>stop css history leak

wala, browser is now functionally unfingerprintable

Like what, that can't be prevented?

Everything
The real question is what they actually do with the data

>wala

I thought the same thing when I saw that.

/ck/ meme

the fbi is way more likely to investigate you and they can and have done some really shady stuff to get access to information. some of their national security letters weren't legally enforceable, but if the entity who received it gave them the data then it doesn't matter.

it's all about why they would want info on you, not what they can get, as that will determine the amount of resources they expend. how would they know about guy 2 and 3?

Normies don't know about muh image cookies

lucb1e.com/rp/cookielesscookies/

Be sure to clear cache on every browser exit or always use incognito mode to address this one

voila

they dont really know as much as they say they do. no terrorist attacks or crimes were prevented with this spying.. they find stuff from devices when the criminal is already caught

They collect everything but they'll never pay someone to go look at it unless they have a reason to.

Imagine all those people using internet before reading next:
Identifying something already known (typing habits, assuming there's a database listine everyone)
Looking at something new (i.e. making a script which will delay typing at random intervals)
How to identify something you don't know from all the "noise"?

No shit, sherlock.

I'd read that manga

what a heckin cute pupper

>your average normalfag
Everything they can.
>guy who doesn't use social media
Everything they can.
>nearly paranoid guy who uses many security measures
Everything they can.

Having better security and not using very much social media or none at all will help greatly to avoid mass ("dragnet") surveillance but will also single you out as a person of interest. I've heard that you're automatically put on a watchlist for using GNU/Linux or custom Android distros. Even searching for Tails or using a search engine like DuckDuckGo can get you put on the naughty goy list.

I've actually had FBI niggers come to my door and ask to speak with me. I didn't let them in but I asked what they needed, and they said they had questions about some of my online activity, including some individuals that I had recently spoken with over email. I told them to get a warrant if they wanted to search my house or my hard disks and they fucked off. I wasn't even doing anything illegal either. I simply talk to others that they have some kind of issue with.

>Connect twice with same device
1. Spoof MAC regularly
2. Disable all crap from browser, leave just bare minimum to function (preferably use icecat)
3. Use free as in freedom laptop with libre GNU/Linux, no proprietary bullshit
4. Use only public wifi in large city, regularly change location
5. Use script to delay typing input at random intervals
6. Do not connect to any social website, obviously
Even if I was most wanted criminal scum (assume no one knows how I look like), how would any agency find me without knowing apriori what to look for? If all my fingerprints blend into all the noise.

.your average normalfag
everything
.guy who doesn't use social media
everything they post on the internet
.nearly paranoid guy who uses many security measures
everything besides shit like PGP messages, maybe Signal messages, etc.
