Is jailbreaking dead Sup Forums? Anyone else here holding out on 9.3.3?

I've always yoyo'd between iPhone and Android every time I upgrade my phone so I'm quite familiar with the quirks of both so I can find myself comfy with either one but with the direction the iPhone is going now, it's looking as if my next switch to Android will be permanent.

Honestly, if Apple made jailbreaking reliable, I'd stick with them.

Yeah. I used to really like iOS from version 2-6. I then updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 7 and I was completely done with iOS at that point. I bought a Nexus 5 in late 2013 and I'm still using it with Lineage OS. I modded the battery by soldering the original connector to an LG G2 battery so that it's 3000mAh now and it's not terrible. I've replaced the battery and power button once so far but it's still working fine for basic things like calls, texts, emails, music, maps, and light web browsing. A lot of people hate Android because they've only used the shitty carrier versions with custom Pajeet skins that never get software updates. It takes like five minutes to unlock the bootloader and install a custom OS that will just work for years and years.

There's nothing a jailbreak can get me that I can't get from the app store and what killed jailbreaking was having a paid jailbreak cydia app store with paid shit.

Where can I get Kodi from the App Store, user?

Ian Beer a head in google Project Zero group found and exploit for iOS and has just released it for 11.1.2 and below. Just a matter of time until someone is able to get KPP and actually utilize a jailbreak from it.

>could have sold it to apple or the chinks for even more $$
>release it for free
One of the good guys

He sold it. There’s a 90 day period where exploit becomes public or something like that. Give it a couple months and I bet there will be a jailbreak available.

Basically jailbreaking means getting basic Android features since gingerbread and not getting anything after that. So yeah, pretty much dead.

Those that still jailbreak are oldfags that can't let go of the apple logo despite being tainted by a gay.

pics of phone, main screen, etc?

11/10 amazing picture my guy

Jailbreaking died with iOS7. Its been Russian and Chinese malware since then

Why does Apple hate jailbreaks so much?

Devs released anexploit for 10.3.3 and ios 11.1.2. It's not dead but it might as well be. We will never have ios 2-6 times again.

Why? Do you not believe that I'm using a Nexus 5 or something?

iToddler sheeple should be good sheeple and just shut the fuck up and keep buying iPhones.

i think he wants to see how bulky it looks with the battery mod

iOS 6 holdout here.

Only tweaks I have are Firewall iP, Protect My Privacy, mikoto, emojilayout. It's excellent.

Well the battery fits inside the phone almost perfectly so it's not bulky at all. The plastic panel on the back of the phone snaps in place comfortably and there's no way to distinguish it from an unmodified Nexus 5 by looking at the outside.

Here's the tutorial I followed (part 1 and 2):

Hey bro, yeah im just holding on here.

Iphone 6 on 9.2 and i use linux on my machines so having ifile and dragging dropping from nemo is one of the most important things in the world to me - i also thought the ifile webserver and shooting files across the network was like a super power i used to share stuff between iphones all the time.. it was an unlimited airdrop ! im amazed how long it took apple to copy it with crippled functionality

also safari downloader and i transmission are essential... i moved house and had no internet for a month... i survived by riding to the city on my bike and torrenting gigabytes of tv and music from the city wifi @5megs / sec from my phone ... sometimes i left my old jb 4s and 5 inside a camo pouch in a tree and leeched an amazing amount of data.... all thanks to JB

its on its way out for alot of reasons - feature creep into iOS, lack of exploits, people just switching to android... its all really too hard... i had to wait 6 months for 9.2 JB when i got my 6 and it was painfull... never doing that again... and still its semi untethered which crap cause i like switching my phone off at night :/

good times though... you really know someone was into "it" if they had a JB or rice... but between this and the 3.5mm jack apple has lost me my 6 will be my last idevice...

my 6 is in mint condition with a JB same as my 5s ... wonder if a phone with a JB is "added value" to anyone these days ? my friend was trying to spoof his location for tinder before he moved to europe and bought my old 4 JB just for that JB functionality ...

I'm getting out of jailbreaking. The phone OSs have converged and if you want customization, Android is much less hassle. Jailbreaking should always be allowed, but practically, I have almost no use for it. Been on a jailbreak since 2013 and hardly used it for anything. Pirate an occasional app, dump the Domino's Hatsune Miku app, run emulators, and get a better volume indicator that doesn't take up the whole screen.

The typical jailbreaking arguments apply just as easily to Android. Why should highly skilled security devs work on jailbreaks when Android does a lot of what they would want a jailbreak for?

I just sold my iPhone 5 for a $30 premium from the $60 or so base price because it was jailbroken on 8.4.0.

11.1.2 is jailbreakable. Upgrade/downgrade before they stop signing.

mobile.twitter.com/i41nbeer/status/940254977838206976

It's in the iOS and OSX app stores

a 11.1.2 jailbreak might be possible with the new google zero code but a complete JB tool / proof has not been released yet / or what devices are supported and if it is untethered...

i would hold off... besides i havent come across any apps that are complaining ios 9 is too old yet...

>owning ishit
lmao

>android users are poor
Lmao

No harm in downgrading while it's still being signed. If the jailbreak comes out and Apple stops signing 11.1.2 when it does, you'll be stuck without a jailbreak. At the very least save your blobs.

Biting my nails hoping Apple doesn't close the signing window for 11.1.2 before I can JB it.

I mean I saved my SHSH blobs, but I don't know what the fuck to do with them. Currently on iOS 10.3.2 because I had a jailbroken 10.3.1, but my phone was stuck in a bootloop on a three week vacation and had to go to the goddamn Apple store and they restored my phone to 10.3.2

Literally no apps support iOS below 8, what the fuck do you use your phone for? Calls?

>iShit
Found your problem.

It's a problem I live with... unfortunately.

I thought jailbreaking was dead, I don't know anyone who jailbreaks their iPhone anymore. I used to understand it back when androids were all made of plastic and the software was clunky, but android now is the cultivation of all the things jailbroken iPhones tried to be years ago.
