I'm trying to reverse engineer Netflix downloads, but I don't know where to start
here is the path were the movies are downloaded: %localappdata%\Packages\SOMETHING123.Netflix_something123\LocalState\offlineInfo\downloads
the larger file is the movie itself, the others are metadata and subtitles
in the first two lines of the encrypted(?) movie file there are some words almost readable here are a few (I have removed the characters between): $ftypiso2 isomiso2dashiso6piff luuidNetflixPiffStrm! Netflix Media Library Version 80.0.699. moov xmvhd Lpssh
In the web version, media is received in 'packages' in which the header contains Content-Type: application/octet-stream
but I can't find an 'index' file like for m3u8 files also in that packages I could see a pattern of repeated strings separated by a new line and with a slash / at the beginning
Michael Moore
I have the data but I don't know how it is processed
If there is an encryption here is easier to get the key, but I still don't know how it works
Elijah Jackson
Dude. It's like 10 bucks a month.
Grayson Roberts
It's not for that! It's because I want to have the media in a playable format, and don't have always to use the netflix application
Aaron Anderson
Understandable but even I agree it would be nice to hoard my favorites for when the Internet is down or Netflix decides to remove the content.
Gavin Cox
So grab the web rips that others release. As you said, you don't know what you're doing so you have no chance in hell of cracking Netflix's DRM.
Alexander Russell
New Netflix app has download for offline button.
Dylan Butler
>H.264 >Encryption You really have no idea do you?
Juan Martin
>encryption >H.264/MPEG-4 AVC
Jackson Lee
Just use a capture card and encode it as H.265
Yeah, cracking it would be more elegant but if your end goal is saving and sharing Netflix movies, a capture card is by far the most effective route.
Chase Torres
Reposting >I have found what encryption they use: >H.264/MPEG-4 AVC
>now the problem is to find the key

how did you dumb motherfuckers not understand that OP has no idea what the fuck he was on about from the get-go? Is this REALLY what tipped you off? Jesus fucking christ. OP, I can tell you have good intentions, but you have to know your boundaries. You are not going to hack anything big enough for anyone around you to know about, until you start actually genuinely studying cryptography, and by all means, fucking do it. You're clearly young and have the potential to be bright, just gotta tap into it.
