Anime is pretty popular in Europe. In my generation we used to watch a lot in TV. Dragon ball and Saint Seiya are specially popular and even the average grandma knows who's Heidi (アルプスの少女ハイジ) and Marco (母をたずねて三千里).

AFIK is anime and manga is really popular in Italy and Germany. But yeah, France is probably the most weeb country. We used to get the anime and manga translations straight from France.
Lately we got a lot of manga tho, as example. I think Spain is the only country outside of Japan with a compete edition of Aria.

I barely watch TV since the 2000, but I think they keep airing some anime.
Back when I was a child, between 1980 and the 2000 there was a lot aired in TV, too many to make a short list. Then, during the early 90s both Akira and Ghost in the shell hit the videoclubs, spreading even more the anime popularity.
We even used to watch a dubbed parody of 風雲!たけし城 that was super racist.
