>Radeon Adrenalin Edition >Vulkan does not work at all anymore (not even the workaround by using old Vulkan libraries). >Three BSODs in the first hours after installing it. >Most games crash instantly when you try to open performance metrics. >Running three monitor setup, mouse cursor randomly stops showing itself on secondary monitors. >Can control still doesn't do shit, 99% of the time your manual fan options get ignored.
Why did I even update? I was running an ancient driver that "worked" well enough, except the Vulkan problems, I never gave BSODs and crashes very rarely. (But the performance in some games was just horrible.) In the last year, I've tried different versions, all with massive problems.
>One driver would downclock the video RAM to literary a few megahertz when you used multiple monitors, unusable in return, graphics corruption every time more than one monitor was connected.
>Another driver would magically vanquish Direct3D 12 support, DX12 games wouldn't work anymore.
>None of the drivers from the last years work with new Vulkan libraries, have to use ancient libraries from before 2015 (Adrenalin driver won't even work with old libraries anymore).
No matter how much feedback I give. No matter how much I ask for fixes. You get totally ignored, no support what so ever.
I guess you get what you pay for. I've been an AMD fanboy for ages, but I'm just so sick now, I just want things to work for once. I'm so going Nvidia next time, wish I didn't buy this Freesync panel.
And this is why I dropped $400 on a wqhd gsync panel and have never had a single performance or stability issue.
The time you spent troubleshooting @ minimum wage would cover all of the nvidia hardware.

b-but muh fine wine.

I take that back I had to relaunch a game once because gsync didn't kick in properly.
I only noticed because the game fps was pegged.

Ryan Reed
I used ATI before it was pajeet AMD.
Brayden Lopez
Works on my machine and I've got a launch 7970, dual monitor is working fine, never had a problem with Doom in Vulkan mode.
Sounds like PEBCAK to me
Dominic Wilson
Pretty sure Nvidia is the only way to get a 100% open 3d stack on Linux you schizo dipshit.
Jordan Young
AMD is leading edge on open source technologies though Nvidia only copies them and makes their own closed source version
I can't imagine any real freetard would approve of them
Luke Cox
Are you retarded? Nvidia is one of the biggest proprietary jews on the market right now.
Wyatt Murphy
how about you fix your machine retard
Luke Myers
>Well documented cases with thousands of people reporting the same problems >hurr OP it's your fault
Check the multi monitor fucking up VRAM clocks, it was a huge shitstorm around a year ago.
Ayden Davis
This has to be asked. Did you do a clean / ddu install? If not then this is your fault. If you did, then take this over to /SQT/, and list your complete specs there.
Matthew Lopez
Funny how when Nvidia has problems Sup Forums claims only 2 people in deepest darkest mongolia ever suffer the problem and thus its a non issue but when there are issue with AMD (still no sources i've noticed) it affects roughly 2.5 billion users.
See: that one dude burning out his pcie slot with a 480 is the only documented case in existence (and even then it was suspect) but apparenly - again according to Sup Forums - thousands of people had their motherboards explode.
Tyler Miller
epic bait

>AMD >2.5 billion users
Nolan Rogers
Remember those Nvidia drivers a few years back that just straight up killed cards?
OP the poor bastard probably has a R9 380 or RX 480. Those cards just got annihilated by buggy drivers and no support.
FreeSync (A-Sync), Mantel (latter Vulkan), etc. Nvidia just takes those things and makes their own proprietary versions while AMD makes the original open versions or specifications.
Adrian Howard
If you don't have Polaris or higher use 17.7.1. Overclocking is fucked on all 17.7.2< OP is a false flag, 21229 more posts and he gets a 1070ti

This must be the most retarded post I have seen this year, and this year is almost over.
John Foster
Wrong. AMD started the A-Sync craze that later turned into G-Sync and FreeSync. There was no G-Sync in 2013 when DP 1.2a didn't even come out until late 2014 that is a requirement for G-Sync.
Nice try though.
>>Mantle is a direct copy of MS and PS console low level APIs, overhyped by AMD marketing team (as always) Wrong again, Mantly was the precursor to Vulkan, DirectX 12 takes direct hints from Mantle.
"FreeSync was developed by AMD and released in 2015 in response to Nvidia's proprietary, closed, and more expensive G-Sync" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreeSync
Trying to get your video card to work really gets the adrenaline pumping, though, doesn't it?

Weren't you fucking born 5 years ago? FreeSync and G-Sync monitors came out onto the market almost at the same time in late 2014 and 2015. AMD and Intel had been looking into A-Sync since 2010/2011 already.
Way to make a retards out of yourself, you wouldn't need to search google if you where alive at the time.

>"Based on what we know thus far, we believe Mantle is the Xbox One’s low level API brought to the PC." >neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=686645 You realize the XB1 runs an AMD APU (AMD CPU/GPU) and it was all AMD developed? You're like running head first into a stone wall, over and over.

>>Mantle is a direct copy of MS and PS console low level APIs, overhyped by AMD marketing team (as always)
This is fucking retarded. DICE's Johan Anderrson went on record saying he created Mantle from the ground up. Yes, he is the creator and partner with AMD to finish the spec and bring it to an actual platform as mantle. I can't believe the amount of stupid kids on Sup Forums. The X1 didn't even have a low level API until years after Johan started designing and promoting it within the industry and the Metro devs even called MS out in an interview saying they had a mutilated version of DX11 and didn't get a barvines low level API until it was too late to use for launch of one of the Metro games, remaster I think. And Sony's API is known for being very close to metal, so close that a PS4 dev team was the first to implement asynchronous shader/computing and now hardware is designed to work favorably with the technique, not at all like Mantle/Vulkan which is abstracted and generic enough to meet needs of multiple uarchs
Christian Diaz
>didn't get a barvines low level API until it was too late to use for launch of one of the Metro games, remaster I think.
At the very least that is stated in an interview by one of the dudes at 4A when interviewed by Eurogamer.
Nathan Cook
>In general - I don't really get why they choose DX11 as a starting point for the console. It's a console! Why care about some legacy stuff at all? On PS4, most GPU commands are just a few DWORDs written into the command buffer, let's say just a few CPU clock cycles. On Xbox One it easily could be one million times slower because of all the bookkeeping the API does. >one million times slower
Works fine for me. Your a retard for updating to such huge releases ASAP BTW. Should of waited few weeks for hotfixes.
Colton Foster
Dx12 is Mantle. Johan went around evangelizing for his API and AMD said in an interview they were sharing everything with MS from the start. MS didn't even believe in going beyond DX11.1 like a year before they announced they were working on DX12. Hmm, so they went from saying no DX12 to a working demo of a brand new low-level API in months when DICE's resident genius, who initially architected Frostbite on his own iirc, with the help of AMD took over half a decade to design the thing on paper? It's pretty fucking obvious MS just used the the Mantle spec and asked Nvidia to put together barebones drivers for a short demo. Meanwhile AMD and DICE had production grade drivers and renderer ready for public launch
Julian Russell
You're so wrong. DirectX 12 and Vulkan are further development on Mantle. They are not Mantle itself, they are based on it however.
Aiden Price
Mantle was collaboration with AMD. After that MS continued to develop it to DX12 and AMD with the Khronos group into Vulkan.
>low-level API has been around in consoles since forever >Microsoft & Sony chose cheap 2nd rate company called AMD for the Xbox One And PS4 to cut down expenses >AMD ported their beta half-assed shit made for their subpar console hardware to PCs and overhyped it as the second coming of Christ for their braindead fanbase >it stays DOA, AMD way
that was from MSI Afterburner setting the fan speed to 0% on the new driver

How do you guys even get problems? i have no BSODs, no game crashing when activating that overlay, nothing. Do I need to do extra steps to actually get a crash?
Juan Anderson
FreeSync can't compete with G-SYNC. Nvidia knows it and its why their kits remain expensive.
