>2017
>fucking up this bad

youtube.com/watch?v=Hun002cNqaE

Pretty much every case company fucked up this year with retarded choked fans behind a plstic or glass cover.
>muh tempered glass
>muh rgb
We went from cases who were focused on silece or airflow to shit that's neither silent or has airflow and all we got were blinking lights.

Blame "gamer" aesthetic who needs RGB in everything and manufacturer just giving them what they want.

Watch the video. It's a fucking awful case for the price

Seems like an awful case period. I'd pass on it if it were being offered to me at a yard sale for $10 just because I couldn't be arsed to haul it away.

>no optical drive

Yeah that's pretty shit.

>zalman

shitty company

fractal design pulled thru

Did Phanteks also fuck up this year?
Their last year case lineup was good.

I'm really hating Hardwarecanucks reviews, most of them sound like literal advertisements from his sponsors. The poo in the loo he picked up is an asshole, too.

Only with Mesify C and even that has tempered glass so dark version that you need billion RGB led strips to be able to see anything thought it.

What do you need an disk drive for, grandpa?

Evolv shift was pretty bad, but I can't remember what else they've released this year.

At least they round up the positive and negatives in case reviews, both. Better than 99% of reviewers out there in that regard.

Interestingly their dirt cheap matx cases are great.

Is caselabs the only option if you want zero compromise with build quality, cooling and space for components nowadays?
I miss the good old times when we had like 10 flagship super tower cases fighting each other for the top dog in cooling and features department.

When everything go so wrong in the case business?

Yeah, I was talking about computer cases in general.
I think they only updating their cases with tempered glass? Enthoo Pro M TG, P400 TG and P300?

You know how bad things have got when people are giving blowjobs and parades to Fractal for putting a bit of mesh on a case, something that every case used to have be default 10 years ago.

Inwin happened.
A meme manufacturer of meme cases that nobody in their right mind would want burst in, and the rest of the manufacturers saw it and wanted to take on that "aesthetics over function" bullshit.

This. I'm still running my Arc Midi R2, looked about replacing it to freshen things up a bit, and gave up since everything current has worse airflow in favor of gimmicks and aesthetics. Really, you can make a sleek looking case without needing a flat front panel that only hinders airflow.
What's even worse, is that it's been almost 5 years since it's release, and still no news about any Arc R3. It could use some updates like 2.5 drive brackets and removable 5.25 cage.

hey I still have a 5.25" fan controller from zalman with analog knobs from 2006 that still works wonders

have you watched any of his latest case reviews? He really changed after the whole discussion of airflow came to light.

I definitely agree that his older reviews, wether they were about headsets or cases, sounded like promo videos instead. he was very apologetic of severe shortcomings and product design flaws, but now he has stepped up.

The new cuck techtuber is BitWit, all of his latest """"""""""""reviews"""""""""""" look like are sponsored by the company whose product he is reviewing. I'm betting he got cucked by his wife and now he has lost all energy to make decent videos

>have you watched any of his latest case reviews? He really changed after the whole discussion of airflow came to light.
Ehh, to me it feels like they're jumping on the bandwagon rather than learning from their mistakes and constant improvement. Airflow has turned into a meme on plebbit and similar sites thanks to GN constantly babbling about it (for a good reason, but still).

>flagship super tower cases
Fuck you as well, bighueg cases are an eyesore and I'm glad things moved towards aesthetic mATX/mITX cases. Sadly it seems like the industry is going back to the upgradeability meme with three radiator spots and watercooling support on every case.

Are the Defines bad? The side intakes look big enough

They're not bad but they're somewhat restrictive. So for casual use they're great cases but if you want maxium airflow something like Meshify C is better choice.

I guess you could say... *puts on sunglasses* someone pressed his PR button. Yeeeeeaah!!!

...

Of this type of case the Defines are probably one of the least bad of the bunch regarding airflow. They will still do worse than a truly open design though.

I'm surprised watercooling memefags don't use cum instead of coolants for their system.

Cd's/DVD's/Blu-Ray are still pretty widely used, even if they're not really needed. A case should absolutely have the option to mount a 5.5in drive.

no, i think moving forward its important that theres a choice, although in saying that 2017 hasnt been a good year for cases bar a few. ditching the cd drive allows better internal layouts for airflow, and more mounting options for stuff like 360 rads.

I think most people dont actually use disks. From my experience its one in every few gamers, old people that burn dvds, and a few people in their late 30's that do. Nearly everyone else doesnt from what ive discussed with numerous people

>they are still selling big ass 2000 tier cases
damn didnt they check sales atleast once this year? compact atx cases is the new hip

A computer case is what you make of it. If you spend your time looking for the best one then you'd do just as well to sit in a rocking chair all day, screaming at non-existent terrors.

Why would you buy a 2017RGB case when you have good old day classic one.

is there any good case similar to the nzxt hades? There doesn't seem to be any high airflow cases with at least 2 200mm fans and a built in fan control. I want a new case regardless of how it looks.

Nice shitty 10 min ad.

Meshify C would've been better if it had a "no tempered memewindow" option.
