They made important contributions to the field in their time but they're completely outdated now. Many economists including myself have never read any of their works first hand. Some of their ideas were translated into mathematical models later on, and modified versions of them are still very popular in economics (e.g., New Keynesian models are still mainstream even though they have little to do with Keynes anymore).
