Technology-wise, is it good?

>a tablet with a controller
Not really, no.

No.

Bad screen, mediocre SoC.
Overpriced for the hardware. Specially for the build quality.

mid-range tablet from 2014 or something.

they couldn't have done much better when it comes to portability vs power. unfortunately it leans more toward a console in that regard so it gets hot and suffers on battery.
i'm still hoping for a switch mini by the time Pokemon Gen 8 rolls around.

>using specs as a sole metric for 'good technology'
normies

>gen 8
keep dreaming fag

Eh
It's OK.
Should have gone with a Pascal Tegra. But they fucked it up, they even lied about it in the PR statement.

Hopefully the hardware revision is based on Volta or something more power efficient.
The point where it will be viable is the same form factor and product, but with:
> ~performance of the base PS4 when docked. ~XB1 while portable.
> smaller bezels
>1080p IPS screen
>better bluetooth
>beter Wifi
Same everything
I don't know if Volta is the solution but when that happens it will be viable, and probably the optimal way to play videogames.
I'd gladly pay $400 for said product, next year.
And the XboneX showed that buzzords like "SIX TERAFLOPSSS" and "4K ULTRA HD" sell consoles

It's a Tegra X1 running a modified version of 3DS's OS. So not really.

The switch is utter trash on all levels from hardware to software, even games are all trashes, it's truly embarassing for nintendo.

Basically a tablet with a 2015 Tegra X1 SoC.

Do you really think Pokémon is over or what? Not so smart, are you?

...

No

They could have done better, but it would cost a lot more. But yes, I too want a Mini Switch or something like that.

Nintendo has always been games first, hardware second. It's how the NES survived despite the 16 bit Genesis being out for years before the SNES. N64 thrived on cartridges because of a stream of classics.

Sony and MS think horsepower is all that matters and we get 40GB Call of Duty games every year.

Meanwhile the new Zelda takes up 8GB on a Switch and is one of the best games of the decade.

>three year old tablet with controls snapped on
>also passed off as Wii U successor
>melts official screen protector in dock
>low res screen
>worse performance than Wii U
no

Tell that to their sales, smartass ;)

>worse performance than Wii U
That's not what Mario Kart and Zelda really show

Hardware wise okay, $300 for a tablet isn't half bad for the performance it bring
Much more impressive is the software, the OS is a million times more optimized than Android, while RE4 barely runs on the Nvidia Shield the Switch runs some games at 1080p60, even DOOM runs fine enough, considering that there's nothing else like it in the handheld space

It's a tablet dedicated to gaming, so the amount of personal information it can gather is small while still applying to every usecase that matters for a tablet next to a phone.
A classic nintendo handheld (cheap materials and old hardware, with top tier build quality and games that make full use of the cheap hardware thanks to first party) with a bunch of previous gimmicks stuffed in to boot.
It's good/popular enough to get wider third party support than any nintendo home (or "home" in this case) console sans the Wii or NES.
It's bretty good.

A Sup Forumsermin telling me to go to Sup Forums because I hurt his feelings, wth is wrong with you buyer remorses must have put you throught hard times.
yes the hardware is trash
>no gpio
>no usb
>no docs
>must reverse engineering everything

It's a device with 1 teraflops in it yes it's good but of course the j*ws locked it.

A Switch mini (without TV mode) won't happen
It's the main selling feature that, unlike the 3D and Gamepad, actually works. They didn't released a Wii without a Wiimote or a DS without a touchscreen after all

It's a gaming device marketed toward kids, you autist. And it has USB.

it's a portable wiiu, so nah

Already been officially confirmed months ago. Where have you been?

>>no usb
lmao you're just showing your colors as an idiot
>no proprietary connections for things that would overlap with current mass market solutions
>seriously expecting anything more
You could even argue that airgapping games (and the mandatory proprietarity that comes with them) from your browser and important personal info is a pretty nice deal, since the difficulty of hardware hacking is a result of the games.

Yes. The OS is excellent and runs amazingly. The hardware is also smart because Nintendo can just update the tablet part to 5k in a few years from now and allow you to continue to use all your games and accesories without a glitch.

I just answered op, the hardware is nothing special and is outdated at best.

>lmao you're just showing your colors as an idiot
microusb is NOT standard usb.

>seriously expecting anything more
I don't, I answer op question.
Yes, the switch is trash.

>since the difficulty of hardware hacking is a result of the games.
"""hacking""" a switch is retarded, we already know everything about it.

nigger it's USB-C, the new standard. You can't hide behind OP when your opinion is trash.

>nigger it's USB-C, the new standard
Not in the hardware hacking scene.
>You can't hide behind OP when your opinion is trash.
This zelda machine has has no use cases outside zelda, deal with it.
OP can delete his thread.

yeah it's pretty 1887

in all honesty 720p is fine, most phones these days go 1440p and it's retarded

Yes/No. But it doesn't matter, the experience is what matters.

But I still say yes because of how effortlessly the joycon work in all situations, how fast it is to go from sleep to playing a game, and how there's no fucking advertisements and bullshit on the home screen.

The experience is top notch.

>Not in the hardware hacking scene.

Bullshit!
