Yeah. I stole it from a yard sale a few years ago.

that keyboard looks nice. Is it as pleasant to type on?

How much did they want nigger? And how hard was it to lift something that size without getting noticed?

Did you actually steal it or did you get a good deal?

Oh yeah, its awesome!

They wanted $50, way too much for that! Nobody was outside so i just grabbed it bag and rode home.

You're a dick.

I see. Would have been hard if it were loose. And yeah, $50 is steep.

...$50 is a steal for that. You're a very immoral person for stealing from a yard sale. Probably a socialist.

Im actually natsoc. Not even close

turbonigger go give them $50 the next time you're in the area

>natsoc
No, you're fucking not. If you're stealing from your own people (from a price that is already low nonetheless), you clearly don't care about your own people.
Garage sales are the epitome of supporting local individuals.
Theft is for degenerates only.

Yes, because i go deep into pussy

I wouldnt pay anymore than $10 at most for a shitty old pentium 2 box i only use to play a few old video games and tinker with 90s software.

Whats a good laptop to play DOS games on that has a floppy drive and at least a pentium?

What could I get for a 105cs with pcmcia 4x cdrom?

>muh dik
>when OP calls himself a nigger for you

Anything made after 1997 is perfect. Look for something with a 640 by 480 resolution otherwise it wont look as good if its higher.

Hello Jamal, stolen any iPhones recently?

No, sadly they done made that impossible since biometrics and older ones aint worth shit

>winplay3
heck yea, fastest mp3 player i could find
could play mp3's on my 486DX2-66

Almost $50. Think I'll wait a few more years.

Oh yeah, best. Hav you tried xing mpeg video player?

Theres more on ebay. They get quite cheap sometimes

maybe if i had some VCD's or broadband internet back then i would have
but as it was, i didn't have any mpg video, so no need for a player

Just convert the video files, it works quite well. Ive been working on it for the road trip oduring the holidays

yea, 640x480 is a good idea, most 90's laptops have only point scaling, so you're either stuck with a small window (unscaled), or ass scaling for full screen
also, if the laptop has no soundcard, be sure it at least has a pcmcia slot so you can add a soundcard

it's never going to be worth a lot, '90s toshiba portables are ugly as fuck and have no following other than librettos, they're also very plentiful which is why ever other pleb has one and thinks they're super special for it

if i was to use such a laptop now, i would
but i'm talking back when these were relatively new laptops, all my video at the time was still on VHS, i didn't get a DVD player until 2004

Yeah. Had a think pad 770e and dos games sucked ass. Got a toshiba 100cs but it had no sound card. Video was great though since it was 640 by 480

close enough

thankfully there's a couple options for sound even without pcmcia
namely there's two i know of that will work with just a parallel port, the covox speech thing (there are modern clones), and more recently there's an adlib clone for a parallel port, too (8 bit guy did a demo of it)
a pcmcia card is still a better option, if you have a pcmcia slot, though

I don't really plan to get rid of it at all, it was the first machine I assembled from parts. However, if they were up to multiple hundreds of dollars for some reason (maybe it's the next big fad for losers, I dunno) I may be able to part with it,but will probably never happen.

yeah regardless I'm just saying I wouldn't hold your breath, they're not bad to use but they're not really in demand and I don't see it ever changing

About time I rig an AC adapter for this mother fucker so I can show the SoyBook crowd what bravery and courage is all about.

I'm so fucking lazy, I still haven't gotten an updated picture.

Who the fuck cares about your fucking theft, scum, fucking kys

> Niggers

I have some old HP laptop from 1999. The battery is dead and the screen is so dim you can barely make out what's happening, but it boots just fine.

>the screen is so dim you can barely make out what's happening
probably a dead backlight, should be fixable

Probably, but I don't really have any reason to bother repairing it. The thing's probably slower than a RPi.

Dividing Soldering Iron, operation approved!

probably is slower than a current rpi, but they run different things
try running GTA3 on both that and an rpi
with the rpi you'll be stuck with running wine under qemu, with a lot of overhead in both x86>arm and direct3d>opengl translation, which will greatly reduce the effective cpu speed, while a decent 1999 laptop could run that game comfortably

I remember being mesmerized when I used VMPEG

what are your essential windows 3.1 software?

Remove the two backup batteries under the keyboard, they will leak and kill the whole main board if you don't. Happened to mine.

Xingmpeg
Winplay3
Lview
Drawme
Hey where can i get a lot of windows 3.1 software at?

...

Has anyone tried to fix plastic parts on their old laptops? Or to fix monitor hinges? Previous owned sold it with many internal support parts broken and one hinge (almost the only metal part inside) broken in half. Also how to fix chipped off edges?

Thinkpad 380D from the '97 bought for 15€.
The cool part is that the former owner has used for almost 19 years until last years' March.

>The original 90s battery STILL WORKS!
Same man, that's a pretty good sensation having a 20+ years old battery living better than the one I'm using on my phone.

Bravo lui

You really cant. The plastic shrivels up and gets brittle so the cases crack and little things like port covers aventually snap off. These machines werent made to last this long. The only reason they work now is because nobodys touched them in like 15 years.

Thats a good laptop right there. I had a 770E but it broke when i dropped it. Im still sad about it. It was amazing.

This. Thinkpads are made of the best material that still looks new even after 20+ years. Toshibas are the absolute worst and the 90s ones will fall apart in your hands if youre not extremely careful.

Hey did you know that 90s laptop batteries are super easy to rebuild? If its nimh open the case and youll see what are basically aa batteries. Just buy some rechargeable ones from the store and theyll work fine. If its liion its the same but youll have to order some lithium ion cells. But theyre cheap dont worry

win31.de/esoft.htm

Thats where i get mine from, im looking for something else, satan.

What would be the best OS for this toshiba laptop?
- 700MHz Pentium 3
- 128MB RAM
- S3 savage ix graphics card
- miniPCI modem that can be replaced by other cards (wifi?)
- 20GB HDD
- Yamaha DS-XG sound card

Currently running the factory original WinME, but DOS games have some problems (mostly sound related, since the sound card uses IRQ11 for some reason)

Tiny7. Trust me. Its windows 7 but hacked so you only need like 96mb ram and a pentium 2 to run it.
blackeyez007.blogspot.com/2015/09/windows-7-tiny-unattended-fully.html

Literally why? 7 has no drivers for my GPU, sound and other shit
Even XP is a bit too much for this machine

I told you its hacked so it will run great. The drivers will still work ive done it before, compatibilty mode usually fools the driver installers and the drivers work fine.

>being so hung up on once great OS you recommend it for literally any situation even if its going to be a dog shit solution

i fucking hate people like you.

I am actually a linux user. I dont trust windwos i jjust think that hacked version is great for older machines.

Booting from USB

What software can I use to clone a HDD on a system with only 128MB ram?

I'm almost to the point of paying eJew prices for a good 1400c/133, they lack a little in onboard I/O but they're probably the best fucking laptop Apple ever shit out.

...

Apple went downhill after windows caught up in the late 90s. Theyre the aeropostale of computers, youre paying for the brand name not quality.
