The best laptop on the market

why the fuck arent you using asus yet bros?
>fast
>reliable
>cheap
>easy to fix
once i made the switch ive never went back to thinkshit
all you wont in one laptop

>drop it once
>have to replace it
I'm good thanks

>all you wont in one laptop

I don't think I want those giant borders, ty

What kind of Asus model you have in mind? This is my laptop and it's built like a tank.

>laptop

>that screen bezel
almost macbook air tier

XPS 15 master race

because I want a functioning headphone jack

>ulv piece of shit cpu
>dual
>core
>U
>L
>V
lmao that shit belongs in the trash
let me guess the cpu and the ram are soldered too, get 6h battery life at most even with that phone processor and you can't even use three drives at the same time lmao

The current state of Asus
>> Mechanical Drive
>> 5 minutes to boot
>> Cheap because it's plastic
>> Suicide clips around casing
>> Have to dismantle the fucking thing to get at the HDD
>> Soldered ram on the mainboard with only 1 extra slot
Moronic choice there matey.

>no replacable battery

currently typing on my 2010 asus laptop that has survived a whole ton of bullshit, and I'm totally happy with....but yes, the headphone jack started sucking within ~a year of purchase. Didn't know it was an asus thing in general.

I have a g73Sw and have never had a problem with my headphone/mic jack. This things only problem since I have had it has been the fans going out due to me ramping them to 100% whenever I use it.

This
Just imagine how perfect the screen ratio would be if it had a just a small 1cm border around the screen

What the fucking hell is THAT?

That's not falling for the meme, that's being the meme yourself

stop dropping laptops

any worthwhile ryzen machines out yet?
not looking for gaymer shit

Quick, kill it with fire.

Speaking of the best laptop on the market..
Here it is.

What laptop is this

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro

>chink macbook clone
how much does it cost?

850

$850 USD

Are you rich user?

Looks pretty nice actually but dissapponted there is no usb c and 256gb ssd is pretty small

There is two USB Type-C and one acts as the charger.
256GB is pretty small but there is an extra M.2 NVMe SSD slot to expand your storage with.

>best
>cheap
lel

>laptop
>easy to fix
You're an idiot.

Is it true that it sends your data to the chinese overlords all the time?

Filename you incredible fucking retard

nobully

Oh you're right, I missed that on the spec. Thanks user I might actually consider it for my next laptop. Or their next model anyway

Not true at all. Have speculated my upload data for quite sometime and never noticed anything out of the ordinary.
You're welcome user.

>fast
All laptops basically have the same specs.
There is one model with intel graphics and one with nvidea graphics.
nobody gives a fuck these days about specs.
>cheap
This is the feeling I get with SNSV laptops as well.
>easy to fix
That really depend on the model and what you are trying to "fix".
>once I made the switch
How often do you change laptops?
>all you wont in one laptop
Does that mean
>all you wouldn't want in one laptop
Because some of the things are desirable, but I still don't want to get a SNSV laptop.
What matters to me in a laptop is:
ports, the location of the ports and which ones are available. I don't want to use dongles and I don't want to be punished for plugging in a cable.
The keyboard must be good.
The speakers must be good.
You cannot make an ideal laptop without looking at each part of the system and then make the optimal solution for this.

I have used an x220 for a long time, the only reason I haven't replaced it is it still works and I get computers for free at work.
The keyboard is great, no complaints there.
The trackpoint is passable, I mean it is not amazing, but it allows me to disable the trackpad which means I have not worried about accidentally touching the trackpad while typing but I would still prefer a mouse if I need to draw stuff.
The placement of the rj45 is unacceptable.
I don't know what retarded peasant who designed that shit but he deserves to be hanged for his crimes.
I don't know why it wasn't mentioned at the time.
They even made the same mistake on the x230 a year later, proving nobody involved with design have ever used a laptop themselves.

My point is, it is so easy to get a laptop wrong and it doesn't make sense to pledge loyalty to a brand.
Get the best option that is available at the time you need one and hope the world is still intact when you need a new one.

>tfw you use a thinkpad

This thing has served me well for years. (For its time) incredibly portable for its spec. The only downside, a major one, is the absolute shit tier hinge which must be opened from the centre and still creaks from that. The pressure causes the bezels to split open over time and will do so even quicker if you open from the corners.

Nother stealth fighter laptop. I have a G73 and it's a hassle to unscrew it for dusting.

I have the E403S. It fucking sucks.

HP EliteBook > Asus ZenBook (and Sup Forums, I have the Ultrabook version of the EliteBook)

Sup Forums pls recommend me a 2in1

it doesn't get any comfier than a thinkpad x220 my man, consumer tier shit doesn't hold a candle to it

I like dells the most for all those reasons.

But you disgraced it by installing Ubuntu

>Queens computing mug
Opinion discarded.

Wait, Asus laptops are known to have fucky headphone jacks? Guess that explains why mine decided to shit on me months into using it.

I have had a laptop like that for a while (an earlier version), and it what uniquely horrible in a way no other laptop has managed to be. Worst tech purchase of my life.

honestly the m580vd is the best laptop at that price point, but why the fuck did asus had to make it gold like an arab's toilet.

no fucking body likes gold shit in the west

>the best laptop on the market
>mommy bought me a craptop and now I'm forcing myself to like it
>look guise its so good its the best!

Are you mentally retarded?

All modern laptops are the sameshitâ„¢

But I do user, I have asus k501uw that I mainly use for vidya on the go and other stuff, it's mostly used by my gf though since her HP laptop can't play vidya that well so she borrows it when she's over. On the go I do prefer my X220 more though because of it's small size.

>the best laptop on the market
Thinkpad W/P/X/T depending on your needs.

>magnetic hard disk
>14 giant inches for shitty 1080p
>tiny 42 watt hrs battery
>3.3 lbs
good

Best value for money.

Asus have very poor case. I have X502CA, and case just cracked in the middle.
But for 15" (1366x768) and 5 hour battery laptop for 250$ is fucking good.

some of the asuspro models look okay, but the normal ones are meh.

i got a 2012 asus laptop and i tried to replace the thermal paste recently only to find out the last screw in the entire laptop to get to the CPU was pre stripped
and they wouldn't compensate a new mobo and cpu
im never buying asus again

I'm thinking about getting a UX550VE, should I bite the bullet?

>But for 15" (1366x768) and 5 hour battery laptop for 250$ is fucking good
>15" (1366x768) and 5 hour battery
>fucking good
what the fug you can get a 1600x900 T420 with the same battery life for less

1. Laptop was new, with zero human slime one keyboard, screen, touchpad.
2. It was bought in 2013, it is 4 year old laptop
3. New T420 back then would cost more, what 250$.

The only downside is Celeron instead of CPU and GPU.

>Delete right next to the fucking power button
just fuck my layout up.

it was the first image on google images

Which one, 840?

>new
irrelevant if it works fine

No. It is like second-hand car. Sometimes everything is OK, but sometimes someone cumed on the rear sit and wiped ass with head restrain....

>bacteria
Nothing Isopropyl alcohol can't solve

>hardware/software
you shouldn't be in this board if you can't do a basic check-up on your device.

>Nothing Isopropyl alcohol can't solve
You can't reliably clean a keyboard without removing keys... Buying a new keyboard is an option, but you have to order keyboard, disassemble laptop (but it is easy) and replace it..
>you shouldn't be in this board if you can't do a basic check-up on your device.
Software - no problem.
Hardware - may be some hidden problem with graphics, but I guess it is rear. Also heatsinks could be full of shit.

>rear.
rare.
Lol, that spelling mistake.

Never buying an asus computer again

>Have similar laptop as this
>Works well for what I use it for
>One day my wi-fi disappears
>"Huh, that's weird"
>Can still see my neighbor's networks
>Check my phone
>Phone still connected
>Check my other shitty laptop
>Also connected
>Check PC
>Also connected
>wtf.jpeg
>Reboot router without luck
>Reset router to factory settings
>Still no luck
>Drive to the store and get new router
>Set it up
>Laptop connects
>"Ahh that should be the end of that"
>Next day it's gone again
>Go through the same steps
>Nothing works
>Uninstall/reinstall network drivers
>Connect directly to router with cable
>Factory reset my laptop
>forgot to back up my meme folder
>It still didn't work
>years of memes down the drain
>Nobody on planet earth has experienced the same problem I'm experiencing
>Poor as dirt so I can't afford not to fix this
>Currently writing this sobstory from an unprotected cat-lady's frail normie wi-fi

Why on earth would anybody buy an asus?

Can't wait to run this piece of shit over with my car.

Dell XPS 15, not the 13

Why would you buy the 15 instead of the 13?

Is there some major difference that i'm missing?

Are gaming laptops practical yet?
