I am confuse
Just installed Debian and got a frankendesktop of Joe's WM + Xfce support for auto monitor config, session management etc.
Pls no bulẽ.
Also >inb4 package count
This isn't a VM; I actually use this. Plus a lot of them are libraries for compiling latest versions of shit.
Forgot to ask: anyone know if the task list can be set to only show windows from the active workspace? It gets cluttered easily.
No rise. Only productivity.
are you at least gay?
No OwO here though.
thats ok it looks very comfy
hi byobu
Aren't we all a bit?
It's not username fag
byobu.co
Greetings. May the Day of the Rope shower its kindness upon you all.
...
Thats kinda true cause everyone likes boys they're so cute and stuff owo
>who use Linux
>GPU: vboxdrmfb

yes, thanks you
firefox picker is SHIT
I am not a
"fag"
but I will post anyways!
Windows 7
I hate material theme but I'm too lazy to set up a classic style yet so I just live with this
How are you liking Antergos?
it's very comfy
>Font: Sans 10
Not him. What should i use?
A monospace font. Don't you see the spacing issues in that terminal?
I ai n@Navi
Upt i ne
WM: Xf wn4
Forgot to remove namefig. This is a quality thread, OP
yeah, I was testing fonts for a while in a bid to save space and not have my screenfetch take up over half of the screen, sans doesn't work very well
cool pic user what wm is that?
>I am not a fag
yes you are uwu
how is that windows? you are lying
I'm somewhat lazy too with my rice. I've been getting slightly better with it though.
Thanks, user! Heres a cute boy!
If you're looking for a good mono font, maybe try terminus. Its a pixely font so maybe you might think its ugly, but I kinda think it looks nice and comfy to look at
For bitmap fonts ttyp0 is my go to.
Otherwise DejaVu Sans Mono looks very clear even at small sizes.
i.4cdn.org
Both my computers do this but I only recorded one ;P
Looks like the homosexuals finally got around to installing Void. It is forever tainted.
Here is what terminus looks like
what do you have against homosexuals?
2 lewd 4 u?
I need all of your configs and add-ons and everything to duplicate this ASAP.
>fwr
>faggot weeaboo retard
Truth in advertising
Perverse old men preying on young boys is extremely fucked up.
debian is cool
no its not cause theyre lewd and stuff
Proof that all gays are pedos
I don't really like how the boxy glyphs start to look the same at larger sizes. ttyp0 somehow manages to have a more curvy shape without looking awful and pixely
wanna snuggle with kitsune boy, uwu?
ok that's cool. I'm glad you found a font you like!
I like it, you mind sharing the window manager config? please
It's really old, hold on, let me find it
no u
I'm sure you think it's cute but don't act surprised when you're tossed off a rooftop for diddling someone's son.
woaaah shes bigg!!
send papee
I don't "rice".
...
Why do you use Windows 95
Is it good? I'm considering switching off linux
...
He does not use windows 95 it's a Loonix rice.
very cute!
>tossed off a rooftop
But user, we're not in sandnigger land, so thats not gonna happen
Kde is pretty nice
linux is bad
>doesn’t even deny he would try to fuck someone’s little boy
This is why homosexuality was illegal
what make sit nice?
i want the most comfy de of all time
gimme you data-desu!
DWM is AMAZING!!
I encourage everyone who likes small WMs to give it a go.
no its great shut up
>implying little girls are any better
fgsfds
Wow thats a great rice! very pretty!
also welcome to the thread.
Do you want to pet the kitten?
...
>tfw i realize the most comfy de ever doesnt exist
there's no comfy de
but there are comfy wms
this.
how do i get rid of a de and just have wm
depends on what de you have
a DE DE xfce
just install any wm you want and boot it instead of xfce
xfce tools are nice to use with wms, like thunar and screenshooter
...
wow i straight up dont know nything of what you just said
speak english
What distro do you use? You probably use a desktop manager to login, you should be able to install any WM with your package manager and select it when you login.
ubuntu
i want to have NO DE and JUST WM
I want it MINIMAL and LIGHT and COMFY
so.. you don't want any bloat, right?
THEN WTF ARE YOU DOING WITH UBUNTU?
UBUNTU uses LIGHTDM, just INSTALL any WM that you WANT with SUDO APT-GET INSTALL wmname and SELECT it when you LOG IN
what is a good lightweight no bloat wm
dwm if you know how to compile things, i3 if not
...
can you pleawe help me more
do you mean make and configure? please help me dude
Just install i3 and read the docs on their website
but i want dwm
download it here
dwm.suckless.org
The instructions are in the readme
do the same thing but on dwm website
i installed i3 but i dont know how to run it or start it? i tried logging out but theres no option to change that on the login screen
hey guys! i've heard that arch
+ has repos with the most new packages ever, bleeding-edge as is (including fat cat aur)
+is documented (wiki is a miracle even for people from other distros) and (relatively) popular (so it has quite a community)
+ normally has no version or legacy (if needed, Arch Linux Archive or manual compiling are available) so usually no version-of-dependencies compatibility problems
+ teaches you all the linux stuff but mostly - to DIY and to care about your system. And yeah, it learns you to check the system and to be careful with it
0 has binary package manager
0 is meant for constant change (because its rolling release) and so is easier to repair and tweak yet harder to keep it constant
0 encourages DIY and manual(y scripted) control (+KISS(for l-user(I've heard it how it is implemented now)))
0 systemd by default (lots of people hate it but more just use it and dont care)
- need constant maintenance (you have to do something (check archlinux.org/news, see some logs) before your actual work), so this distro is not the one to set and forget forever
-as rolling release distro it needs downloading stuff, even when connected to untrusted or limited network. I guess its configurable but still default behaviour of pacman is not great
- puts buggy new software everywhere, even wpa_supplicant, even kernel intself (though I've heard the situation with system-critical packages become better due to testing branch)
- surely takes a lot of your time, and man, you will always ask (stupid and technical) questions with arch, you will always need community for some special arch bugs, you will always stumble somewhere as you're beta(or even alpha)-tester. And aur is becoming a garbage yard
am i right?
what distro
ubuntu
16 or 17.10?
16.04 obviously
What i'd recommend is for you to leave your shitty distro and install something good (like debian or unironically gentoo)
but if you still want ubuntu, you should be able to see that little ubuntu logo right there, just click it and select i3
XFCE or Cinnamon, Sup Forums-senpai?
i may be a fag but at least im not a degenerate
xfce
Why though? Cinnamon seems a bit more polished.
