How much of a meme is this browser? Is it any good? Is it worth having as a main browser?

> faster and safer than your current browser
This is such a blatant lie, I would assume the whole thing is either a scam or something worse.
Also, there's no point in using any ad blocker other than uBlock Origin, so either way there is absolutely no point in using this over any browser that can run uBlock Origin.
It's pretty good on the mobile platform, where it offers good adblocking and some other neat features.
On the desktop it's mediocre compared to other browsers, but it's a good alternative to chrome if you have a relative that always manages to get malware extensions installed.
Firefox + Ublock Origin + HTTPS Everywhere > a literal piece of shit >>>> Brave Desktop
It's buggy shit
It's a Chrome clone with a shittier UI.
>> faster and safer than your current browser
>This is such a blatant lie
They are benchmarking it against other browsers but without adblocking addons. That's how they get to claim that it's faster.
>It's pretty good on the mobile platform
Firefox + uBlock
Well, of course a browser is going to perform better if it doesn't have to run several megabytes of malware ads. But to pretend it's a valid comparison is stupid at best.
Not interested until it supports user scripts.
Firefox on android is becoming slower and slower with every new release. It's clear that it's the superior application, feature-wise, but that doesn't help much if the browser itself is becoming barely usable.
Mozilla is aware of the issue, though. A fix should be expected in the near future. In the meantime, brave is a solid alternative that also offers decent privacy features.
Isn't Brave by the dudes at Mozilla that didn't turn out to be turboSJWs?
It's malware, avoid.
No. The brave is made by the faggot who made JavaScript, the biggest source of malware and privacy breaches. He was kicked out of Mozilla, that doesn't mean he's not autistic. The browser is utter garbage.
Ah, thank you for the correction.
Am I thinking of another browser, or does what I said just not exist?
No, you're also right. The same dude who created javascript also donated money against a pro-faggot campaign (which is why he was forced out of Mozilla by the SJWs), and ended up being the only person there that cared about preventing DRM content and protecting user privacy.
>caring about user privacy and DRM
This is the opposite of what Brave stands for
Brave did allow disabling DRM until that option was removed from chrom*. Mozilla accepted DRM into Firefox a month after Eich left the company. The only reason why it didn't happen before was because Eich completely and very vocally opposed the idea.
User privacy is not necessarily violated by implementing a "pay the page" system, but it can be a delicate situation if not handled properly.
It may be the biggest meme of all meme browsers. Just chromium with a different logo and """approved ads""" for your enjoyment.
On mobile, absolutely
On desktop, fuck no
I’ll admit it. I thought it was going somewhere, but lately I feel like it’s just a meme. Unless the devs make some surprising breakthroughs in stability and performance and rendering it’ll die soon
chromium with an "adblocker"
it's trash
Ok now a test of bloatnet fornthw browser , download all browsers to comapre , open them all , rhn netstat in cmd . Notice the connection they nake , the browser with least number of connectuon is least bloated , thank ne later
switched to this recently. basilisk is too shitty. firefox sold out and promotes shit. chrme is nsa'd. ungoogled chrome is annoying. brave is okay so far. the rest are shitty or too dated.
Isn't brave based on chrome?
using brave on mobile. yeh tho. maybe am having a placebo effect on it being secure
This. I am uninstalling it as we speak.
It is based on de-googled chromium you dumb shit
Brave comes with DRM disabled out of the box unlike soros-fox
Chink botnet.
How is it not valid you imbecile? They are testing two default installations of two browsers.
>hur durr but you can get the same effect by installing this addons and going to the about:config tab and turning off all these data mining options that firefox has.

I forgot to add that you also have to change the Browser options (because unlike Brave furry shit allows third-party cookies and all kind of stuff that you have to disable) and then go to customize panel and hide the pocket icon so it doesn't track you.
Oh I forgot! you also have to turn off all that shit on the new tab page, man Firefox is really committed to protecting your privacy and security
If only there was a browser that by default has all that shit blocked and respected your freedoms. (while giving you free cryptocurrency for installing it *wink*)
When I was using it, it was slow as molasses.
Brave is the future, but right now it's really buggy. Give it time to mature first.
I used it for a while. It's alright I guess. It still loses out speedwise to anything made with qtwebengine though.
It sucks. It uses fucking Ad Block Plus as a BUILT IN adblocker.
Also no extension support.
Two lies, don't make a truth.
In-work extensions

I use Fennec on Android which is basically Firefox with some telemetry code removed. I hate to admit it but Fennec 57 is comfy. Also did you know uMatrix now works on Firefox mobile? Fennec+uMatrix = 3D SEX
Is not a meme and yes it is worth as a main browser. Though, currently I just it as my porn browser, where the extra protection is appreciated.
Principal browser on android, never tried the desktop version.
Mobile version is god tier. Desktop version sucks.
I use vivaldi
