Download speeds after net neutrality

anyone else who uses video download helper noticing way slower download speeds?

my speed test says 100+ mb/s but all of my downloads are at anywhere from 20-50mb/s

Does this have anything to do with net neutrality?

I have a top of the line brand new computer and as I said my internet speed is the same as usual.

pic semi-related

I was pretty (pun unintended) neutral about the whole ordeal, but this seems weirdly coincidental.

NN is yet to be repealed by the senate

her mouth smiles but her eyes do not

lool is this an anime only board?
i assume you mean enacted or ratified or whatever and I agree, but this just seems like a sudden change that ive never had issues with until now. I always assumed NN, even when enacted, would change nothing.

noone has an explanation? this happened overnite.

>i assume you mean
i believe that non meant that the fcc decision later this week is one of multiple steps that must all be equivalent before ISPs can start with traffic shaping your netflix and torrents

>noone has an explanation?
this is neither your tech support nor have you gave exhaustive info to incite curiosity in anons that could set you in the right direction of identifying the cause

you have a lot to gain from reading this

fair enough, and I appreciate the response, but I feel like I laid out the scenario pretty clearly.

I am not going to contact tech support as to why I suddenly am only able to download porn at incredibly slow speeds.

To refer to my OP, I am simply asking if anyone else has experienced this. Not two days ago I was able to download videos at normal speed no problem. Now suddenly I cannot. And again, as stated, my download speed according to multiple speed tests says that I am at 100+mb/s.

I only made this post to see if anyone else was experiencing this. If thats not the case then I will look elsewhere.

also as I said. This is not torrents. Just video download helper which has suddenly become exponentially slower than it has been in the past.

It could be the site, my ISP, or something else. I am just curious if anyone else is experiencing this.

>but I feel like I laid out the scenario pretty clearly.
no you havent, you didnt even specify your ISP, and for how long you have been downloading at X (which speed?) before monday, were the comparissons in the same site, hour, weekday ...
ethernet or wifi?
video download helper, thats a firefox extension right?

speedtesters indicate speed at Mbits/s
browsers show MBytes/s
were you aware of that?

Yes. After NN was repealed my computer started acting all funny and is really slow.

I think it's because the ISPs are throttling it. Now I can barely even open Word without my computer stuttering.

I can't believe we have a nazi in the whitehouse.

comcast, downloading at1000mb/s for since forever, the effect is the same on multiple sites, ethernet, yes its a firefox ex

all I know is that the speed test show MEGAB
YTES/s

this is a funny post bravo.

sorry 100mb/s

nah man, nothing has changed after net neutrality was killed

net neutrality was bad for business and only allowed major players such as google and netflix to succeed

>I always assumed NN, even when enacted, would change nothing.
So, now you assume the opposite AND that effect now precedes cause

Die in a fire, yurofag.

okay so if this has nothing to do with NN, which I agree it probably doesn't, then why is this suddenly happening?

shut the fuck up i get 800 kbs in aus, go fuck urself

Ideally you wouldn't have internet at all

Girl reminds me of this

No, you're just displaying symptoms of confirmation bias.

Speeds will fluctuate based on traffic times and the source from which your downloading. Advertised speeds are subject to these caveats.

Now go to bed.
