The problem with XDA is it's literally 10% English speakers. Most are from Eastern Europe, and couldn't pass an entry level English class. I know because I advertised several of my apps there and have the play store analytics.

They can't read, and everyone's a dick to people that don't read. They can't talk in coherent sentences, and it confuses the shit out of everyone. And since they're non English speakers and there's a language gap, it's 2017 and they feel entitled. And everyone thinks they're smarter than everyone else.

Only vendors that consistently has good custom ROMs are Google Nexus/Pixel and OnePlus.
