Unlocked phones

>financing your phone

Why don't you buy your phones outright Sup Forums? Why do you want to be tied to a carrier?

...

Because the iPhone is not as cheap as the Androids, my job at McDonald's doesn't pay me enough to cover for all my bills an at the same time buy an iPhone at its full price.

Because, in the US, it doesn't matter what carrier you go to anyway; you're fucked the same way by all of them.

>"unlocked" phone
>iPhone

>not financing an unlocked phone
>laughing john legere

How does it even work? Where do you get the service from?

Because you get a discount?

Sorry, give me a break, I'm retarded. I was answering why I don't buy it outright and skipped the 'unlocked' part

>Why don't you buy your phones outright Sup Forums?
Of course I did. They're just phones, not homes. Maybe if I would be very broke and in need of a phone I could do that.
>Why do you want to be tied to a carrier?
They don't allow that anymore where I live, so I couldn't even if I wanted to. Which I don't, obviously. Feels good.

>the note 8 is $1000 after tax

Just stop being poor

> plug in sim card
> oh wow it works

You use your same SIM card and service as before but you can take your phone to any carrier no strings attached and you're not held under contract
I got a free wireless charger and a $100 best buy gift card buying this
Where do you live m8?

>poor
I have an iPhone

>spending $1000 on a phone

Why not just buy an equally specced chinkfone?

>HE FELL FOR THE MEME

amerifats need not apply
I have an unlocked iPhone from Carphone Warehouse. Every phone they sell is unlocked.
poorfag
you put a sim in of your choice dumb nigger
>he has a contract
LMAO
No such thing. Chinkphones always compromise in one place or another.

>be american
>can't buy anything outright
>have to finance a fucking phone because mr. shlomo goldbergstein fucks you twice as hard this way
>have monthly data caps on internet
>have to be tied to a certain carrier for mobile data and signal
>have a monthly cap on said mobile data, and if on iphone have an extra data cap of 200mb when downloading from the store
Just cuck my shit up

I'm in America and I bought the note 8 unlocked no problem at all.

Good for you.

What's the problem?

Bought an S8 international version outright. No locked bootloader, no region locking, no provider locking. Feels bueno.

About to get an S8+ for 795$. Is that too expensive?

You able to get Samsung pay and shit to work?

>TFW unlocked phone
>TFW unlimited data
>TFW no contracts
USA can be okaii too

but i did
flash the US rom oem file to keep the fp sensor, but also get wifi calling and volte on tmobile.

its great

All four major US carriers don't charge interest for their financing.
If you're gonna use their service why not just pay for it over time? If you break it or want to leave at any time you pay off the rest, still interest free, and you're free to go.

Not the same guy, but it prompt you to choose what country you are in. I chose my own instead since I really want to try their octopus feature, but it will be months before I get to use it

shiina a cute

>"unlocked"
>iPhone
>pick one

I did
I bought a £90 chink phone and £10 of credit in June
got £6 left

I just bought an unlocked pixel XL 2. There was no way in hell I'd lock myself into Verizon just to get this phone.

You seem to be having trouble.

Here's an image to help you out.

Can you mod it? or acess system files or something like that? use as you want? or still has "locked" acess?

Nope, it's still a technology-literate's nightmare.

I paid $849.99 to preorder my Note8. Also came with a free wireless fast charger and a 128GB mSD card.

Not sure why you'd pay the same or more 3+ months later.

Paying more than $300 for a phone is retarded. Always buy last years used flagship for rock bottom prices and change the battery.

You can't buy a Note7 though since they blowed up.

That leaves you with the Note5 which is 2 gens old, or the Note8.

>financing a fucking phone
Do anyone who isn't a nigger do this?

>not taking advantage of interest free loans

Yeah, tons of rich people do this. I'd rather hold on to my money and use it to invest instead of giving it to some jew to invest himself.

They're not charging interest by financing it for 2 years. They're literally just charging the full price spread out over 2 years, the hook is you can't leave their contract unless your phone is paid off, so as long as you're happy with your carrier there is literally no reason to NOT use their interest free loan. It's LITERALLY free money.

It's 0% interest for 2 years, why wouldn't you do it? Oh wait you're a nu-male that thinks credit is evil

No you do not you fucking retarded goy. The device price is embeded in the carrier plan, you pay for it monthly. There's no "free" or "discount" anything with these altercations. Also any gifts or bonuses are also included in the price.

God, i FUCKING HAATE people like you.

How can you know that? It's a credit plan with covert conditions, that you agree to blindly. You're retarded. As expected of anime posters.

>How can you know that?
Because they fucking tell you how much you're paying per month, and for how long.

I got my Note8 for $100 off, so $849.99
I pay 30 months at $28.33/month is $849.9
So it's 2 and a half year loan, with zero interest. That I can pay off early, without penalty.

Locked phones are cheaper and can be unlocked after a short time.

>How can you know that?
Response I expected from a retard that knows nothing about credit.
The only con is if you don't pay it off in those 2 years you get charged all the deferred interest, but only a dumbfuck lets that happen.

absolutely disgusting

I've been on the same MetroPiece-Of-Shit 4 lines for $100 family plan, unlimited data / call / text for 5 years now. using an unlocked Moto G5 Plus. besides the fact that after the 4g speed usage is used up for the month and YouTube is no longer viable, it works out just fine since all I usually do is read email or go on Clover or Ycombinator

Nice goy logic, retard.
You don't know the price of the phone beyond the msrp, any interest can be embeded in that. If you dont think carriers profit from the phone sale, you're beyond salvation. Your point is moot.

You're a dumb wojak poster, you're below even the most potato of retards. You dont even deserve a (You), let alone an argument. Kill yourself.

so fucking what? You're not going to get a significantly better deal getting it unlocked, so what the fuck is your point? Who cares if someone in the middle is making money? It isn't costing ME any more...

>I dont have any arguments.

because my carrier is footing half the bill of this phone...

>30 month plan
wow, imagine being this gay

the worse part is you'll be clamoring for the NoteX next year and pay off the remaining balance of $500 just to trash/trade in the note8

Kek, i've been getting notes since the first gen. I get them every 2 gens.

Currently this means I just trade in my old phone when i upgrade to the new one.

I did so with my Note5. Pre-ordered it. 30 month contract. 2 years later i pre-ordered the Note8, 30 month contract. I didn't pay anything out of pocket besides taxes. All i had to do was trade in my Note5 and there was no paying off the remaining or paying off contract stuff. It just rolled over into the Note8 at literally $1.30 more per month.

In 2 years i'll do the same thing again.

>he's slowly getting upside down
jesus user, stay away from car dealerships, lest they rope you into a lease

How are those Vernees anyway? Which one you got? I wanted to get one because it was so cheap but I chickened out because again it was so cheap.

>he think owning an iPhone is a sign of wealth
Poorfag

What if the battery isn't replaceable?

How is your way any cheaper? I could have kept my Note5 for $140 and then sold it aftermarket to someone for $200-300, or even traded it in to samsung directly for $300 off a Note8. But that would have been more effort than I cared to put in.

This way was simply the easiest and simplest solution. I pay a single bill that is under $100 a month. I have a new phone every 2 years, I have to put in basically zero effort as it's all shipped to me or dropped off at UPS or something for a trade in.

Maybe you've got nothing to do in your life, but i'd rather spend my time doing other shit besides trying to wring every last cent out of a cellphone.

I didnt even know you could finance a phone but I guess you can finance anything. I do buy my phones outright because I don't use a phone plan, just wifi. I had a galaxy s4 I bought for $160 refurbed on ebay, then a moto e lte I got for $12 new in box, now I use a moto g5s I got for $225.

You never leave your house? I mean, how do people reach you when you're out and about?

>working at mcdonalds and owning an iphone

you seem new
welcome to Sup Forums
where people shit on everything you type

>Just stop being poor
underrated advice

I do though. Contracts don't exist in my country.
>iPhones are the cheapest in America
>iPhones are the most popular in America
Really makes you think.

>preordering technology ever

They're still more expensive than every other phone.

And you actually don't really end up spending that much more, you're just chained to a carrier for 2 years. I put 400 down for an s8 when it first came out, and had to pay around $400 or $500 more over the course of my contract (I can't remember if it was $800CAD or $899CAD on release, but it doesn't really matter). My monthly bill is like $20 more per month, which works out to about $480. You hardly even pay interest on the "loan" from the service provider, it's really not that bad of a deal. And if you want to get out, you can just pay the difference of what you owe on the phone in cash and back out of the contract no questions asked, and then (here anyways) they have to unlock your phone for free

I do, bought a Blackberry motion a few days ago. Wished the processor was a lil bit faster since i was used to a Honor 8 but it does the job. The 4000mah battery is massive too.

I'm on a "contract" as well, user, I'm just not dumb enough to sign a 30 month contract for a $1000 phone. I'm on an 18 month contract, at $20/month; after 12 months I can trade in my current phone, with no added cost, to upgrade to the next model at the same rate. if I ever want to get out of this contract loop, I pay them $100 + $20 x M (months left on 18 month contract) OR $100 and give them back my phone. I may be locked into a specific carrier, but A) they pay more than $500 towards a flagship phone to keep me, and B) I'm only $100 from walking away

my point was that you got taken

They don't but I don't go out very often.

that's actually how my mom's "phone plan" works. she rarely leaves her house and she was never really into cell phones but ATT was gouging her $50/month for a landline. we got her an S4 and set up a google voice line.

Speaking of flagship smartphones, what the fuck do you use your 16 cores and your over 9000 Geekbench scores for? It's literally a toy for Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat.

good luck actually being able to use your phone with 20+ apps open or a browser with 100+ tabs on some shitty poverty phone

So, 100 copies of the Facebook app open? There's nothing else do on a smartphone. I keep like 4 tabs open because touchscreens are an invention of the devil anyway.

>20+ apps open or a browser with 100+ tabs on some shitty poverty phone
but you're supposed to sit down at your nice desk with nice PC to do that, user. I can't think of a hypothetical situation, much less one that occurs in my daily life, that would have me open so many tabs and apps and keep them open. as I see it the only thing flagships do that a $100-200 chink phone can't is maybe VR shit and intensive emulation.

Don't know about the US, but it is most definitely discounted in leafland. If the full price of Phone X is, say, $1k, you will often only pay 70-80% if you get one on a plan instead of buying outright.

stop being poor

I live in canada and can confirm, you also usually get some sort of trade in credit as well if you bring in your old phone.

>browser with 100+ tabs
I don't even do this on my desktop

Redflagdeals is the place to be when you're looking for phones or plans. Thanks to them, I managed to jump on a recent sale and get an LG G6 outright for $120 down and 240 on the tab, from Koodo. Cancelled the plan the following day, paid off the tab, and went right back to my good plan with Virgin. Some people even make money on this shit, reselling brand new phones for a profit.

I always thought US carriers did the same thing, discount the list price to incentivize people to get on a contract, so either OP is full of shit or the American telecom situation is even worse than ours.

but user, it's a status symbol!

>32x32
>2KB
wow bloat

>not buying your phones outright from best buy with meme squad warranty

Best way to buy phones. If anything happens they just replace the phone without asking questions.

fucking this

most Americans probably don't have the surplus savings of $800 to buy a phone outright

>I have an iPhone
The only thing that implies is you are a simpleton. Lower intelligence and lower income. Yep you are poor.

I know Mexicans that are willing to work for 8.50/hr that have 128GB Iphone Xs

Having one doesn't mean anything but one thing: you're apples' sheep

That's how amerifats caused crisis in the first place.

There are some good phones starting at $200 that are unlocked. I got my Moto G5 Plus for around 250 after I stuck a warranty on it.

Sheepleton.

I always do this. I always keep my phone in a thin case and use a screen protector. I keep all accessories, and the box for maximum resale value. Usually only costs me 150-200 to upgrade every 2 years.

>He actually spent full retail price on a device at BEST FUCKING BUY

Hahaha

Good goy.

>living in a country where phones aren't unlocked regardless.

Which version did you get and how do you like it?

>meme stylus
>dedicating a whole pocket to your fuckhueg phone
Sad

>implying you are offloading year old technology for a

Phones arent really the same as cars. And yes i am implying that. Phones retain their value a little better than vehicles do.

I always assumed phablets were for women, since they can keep those things in a purse instead of a pocket. Do guys actually buy that shit?
