Well, Sup Forums?

>hard mode: the genie turns any academic degrees you have into a middling-GPA BS in CS from a no-name Java mill college

I would create my own certification that costs $3000 to take, but gives me the $3000 back after taking the exam.

Bada boom, bada bing, see you genie

aids

None. If you're not trash, your github gets you hired. Certs are for trashy Pajeets who need to create fake credentials to cover up their lack of talent.

If all of India died, the world would be a better place.

Not everyone doing computer science is a disgusting programmer, some of us actually do work that matters

Agreed that Indians are worthless scum ruining the industry

THIS 100%.

Real computer scientists dont even use a computer.

malbolge

If you do work that matters, you still don't need a cert. You can probably point to a patent (or like a dozen of them) and/or a real PhD. You don't need some certification. Those are only for commodity laborers.

It being a genie instead of a script, he tells you to go fuck yourself and that the deal is off forever

Full annual tuition at random East European college.

>this

Not him but certs are great for the security side of things. The CISSP, CEH, and OSSTM certs for example can open doors all on their own--a buddy of mine makes $130k/year as a pen tester without even having his GDE thanks to having those certs.

They're also great for the networking side of things, which is my bread and butter. I make a LOT of money with my own company installing and maintaining in-store network equipment for major retailers. Someone having a CCNA is way better if they want me to hire them than them having a degree, which tend to be worthless.

> using may may arrows

good riddance, certs are gay

What happens if I spend some of the $3000 on a cheeseburger? What good is a cert if I starve to death.

Can't, it disappears when you try.

Should have made better life decisions up to this point I guess.

I don't give a fuck because education in my country is Free as in Free Beer ™ so I don't have to start my life with a fuckhuge debt
Anyway I probably start some IT studies while finishing my Astrophysics undergrad studies

>how can you not like your entire income taxed to pay for every loser going to college? muh progress!
guess that's why your country's GDP is laughable compared to the US

This

These aren't computer science certificates

I already have a CS degree.
I suppose I would use it to pay off my student loans a bit faster.

that's probably enough for one good cert these days

Certs are for people going into non coding IT fields.

If you're going into servers, databases, networking, virtualization etc then yeah they will be useful, somewhat, but experience trumps everything. It is easy to brain dump exams for these certs, just look at those millions of Indians and Chinese with CCNAs.

tell the genie to fuckoff back to pajeetistan

you won't get a job with just some certs. you need nepotism.

bullshit they aren't

CCNA is a joke
t. someone who just got certified

I'd throw it towards the debt I have from my computer science BS and MS.

How are you liking the astrophysics program? Always been interested in it and thinking of taking some classes while I'm still in college.

>reddit spacing

What a stupid fucking question. Obviously I let it go to waste. Why would I waste my time with this shit?

SAP training.

What's the tax situation on my genie funds?

Fuck this, I'd get a new Genie, one that'd give me the ability to be immortal and control minds.

I put those $3000/year towards tuition at the Georgia Tech online MSCS program.

Well, i can't spend it really. I live in a Scandinavian socialist utopia, no classes are paid. Maybe on a private evening courses, but that is shit. And high quality private courses will be paid by the company you work for, or again, by the government if you can argue that it has any relevans for your study.

>literally illiterate anons on Sup Forums

I was assuming the genie's curse only counted toward previously existing degrees.
