>most processing power according to geekbench, Antutu, 3DBench, GFXBench, bitcoin mining and real world tests >best display according to displaymate >second best camera, scoring 97 on dxOmark. Behind only the pixel which scores 98. The Note8 scores 94 >best unlock with faceID, superior to inconvenient rear fingerprint sensor and more secure/convenient than Samsung’s facial recognition which can’t be used in the dark and can be fooled by a photograph
Now that the dust has settled, can we all agree that the iPhone X is the best phone of 2017?
I agree OP, Google is already looking to replace Android with Fuschia because it’s such a failure.
This is the end of the line. Apple won.
Zachary Cooper
The iPhone is gay. You can't customize it, it's locked and there are more powerful phones for less.
Kill yourself, iShill.
Eli Flores
Good thing that it'll always be this fast!
Jack Edwards
>more powerful phones for less There are no more powerful phones for any price.
Yep, I can get the battery replaced for $79 or free under AppleCare.
Anthony Reyes
>superior face unlock >inconvenient rear fingerprint sensor >more secure hahahahahahahahaha it's like you think there is only a single model that competes with iShit
Thomas Cook
Name one unlock method that beats the iPhone X in terms of security and convenience?
Xavier Wright
>crippleware """"updates"""" iToddlers will defend this
Jonathan Scott
>does not know what a Note 8 is
Also, some points: >Apple Store has stupid ass standards. They hate anything open source and pratically dictates what developers should do >Rooting an Android phone won't hurt me (ie. OnePlus). Customizing an iPhone (by jailbreaking) could get me into jail in some states >Closed soruce iOS LEL
Joseph Rogers
face unlock is fucking retarded, im not even going to fucking argue with a pajeet shill when imply the galaxy s8 is the only fucking competitor with iShit >muh inconvinient finger sensor lmao kys
Joshua Johnson
The Note 8 is not more powerful. It has the same snapdragon 835 as every android flagship. See OP.
Lucas Davis
>Jailbreaking officially became legal in 2012 when the Library of Congress made an exemption to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, allowing users to jailbreak their iPhones.
How is face unlock “retarded” it’s the most convenient option by far and faceID is secure.
Blake Stewart
because i dont want my fucking face in a database and lmao those chinks unlocking each other's phones is so secure
Ryan Jackson
>inbreed for thousands of years >APPRRRUUU RACCCEEEST
Luke Peterson
>r*ddit spacing FUCKING KEK. Go back to r*ddit, you fucking dirty Applel libtard. Also, it's still against the ToS to jailbreak an iPhone, thus voiding my warranty. If I can install an open source version of iOS and customize the fuck out of my iPhone while keeping my warranty intact, I might reconsider.
It's more powerful in real life scenarios (ie. gaming or data processing).
Please kill yourselves, iToddlers.
Zachary Flores
Android is superior to ios, fuschia is superior to android (especially for devs). Tell me again, who won? :^)
Gavin Reed
>notch never
Lucas Nelson
>inbred >higher IQ pick one
Robert Jenkins
>thinks he needs to censor the word reddit >observing standard formatting practices used on forums and in email long before Sup Forums was a sperm in Christopher Poole’s ballbag is reddit. Could there be any post more like that site than this one? You have made an exemplary effort to show that you are newer than new.
Moving on, against ToS doesn’t mean illegal, so your original post stating “it’s illegal” was not only wrong, it was based on a lie you manufactured in your tiny brain. Furthermore, not all components of Android are “open-source” or “free software”, and Google is replacing Android altogether in the coming years. Not that much of an argument really.
Luis Allen
It’s not in a database it’s stored locally. Anyway if you’re that paranoid you shouldn’t be using touchID either and should just use passcode
Lmao, the iPhone X is miles ahead in demanding games and data processing it’s not even close
Logan Sullivan
>calls an veteran oldfag a newfag lol, kid >can't defend the fact that I'm forever locked with whatever the hell I have on an iPhone Please re-read my question. Can I customize (jailbreak, etc.) my iPhone without losing my warranty? There are tons of Android phones that allow that.
I also forgot to mention that you need trash proprietary software like iTunes to move fucking MP3. On an Android, it's literally drag and drop.
Lame excuse. Try again.
Logan King
>i've been here longer than you! i-i'm a veteran!!!
Levi Miller
>Please re-read my question. Can I customize (jailbreak, etc.) my iPhone without losing my warranty? Depends on where you live. In Europe at least, it was ruled that software modification does not violate a hardware warranty.
>There are tons of Android phones that allow that. Samsung does not allow it and trips a hardware fuse. HTC does not allow it. LG does not allow it. Sony does not allow it. Huawei does not allow it. So who are we left with? Chinese manufacturers that you’d be lucky to get warranty support out of anyway, OnePlus and Google.
Hudson Martinez
Lame insult, try again.
Connor Ward
Okay. Next question: can I install an open source version of iOS?
Also, OnePlus and Google guarantees it. While HTC voids your warranty (although you can unfuck it by restoring it), they'll still help you along the way.
Levi Mitchell
not as lame as your attempt to make yourself superior by saying you're more of an oldfag, that just shows how much of a fucking newfag you are, faggot
Luke Hughes
In the early days you could load any software you wanted onto an iPhone. There are YouTube clips of people running Android on iPhones. Nowadays it is more difficult as Apple have strengthened their security surrounding the boot loader. But with current jailbreak efforts for ios11, a resurgence may not be far away.
Henry Flores

Angel Hernandez
>lame try again
Brody Robinson
Lame insult, try again.
Hunter Hughes
If the security surrounding the bootloader on an iPhone is so trivial, why don’t you post your jailbroken iPhone 5s through X running Android then?
Christopher Sanders
I don't own an iPhone. I own an Android phone. Also, I think you quoted the wrong guy.
Ethan Ortiz
>fucking kek >>security >lmao Nope, definitely the right post.
Brandon Russell
Reminder to report commercial spam and astroturfing.
I was pointing out that Applel has to lock their bootloader for "security", which is stupid.
Wyatt Reed
>>best unlock with faceID, superior to inconvenient rear fingerprint sensor and more secure/convenient than Samsung’s facial recognition which can’t be used in the dark and can be fooled by a photograph But less secure than iris scanner that, unlike face ID, cannot be fooled by a memeber of your family, a person the same race as you, or a mask of your own fabric...
Tyler Hill
No we can't, just the iPhags fanboy shills like you.
Samuel Torres
Well not necessarily. In 2014 on my way back from work, I found a lost Samsung phone. It had a pattern passcode and no one was attempting to call it. I unlocked the boot loader, installed a customer recovery, flashed a zip that removed the pattern on boot, and used it to contact someone in the phone book. I got $20 and a case of beer out of it.
Someone else could have just done that and kept the phone. So in a way, it’s kind of a good security argument.
Cameron Richardson
I really like the Iphone X. Apple owning it makes it so that i'll never get one.
>They control/own the device. >Can't install anything that isn't in the app store and they ban a lot of stuff from their app store. (I have 3 app stores installed on my android phone, F-Droid, Amazon Apps, Play Store, as well as any apk i find online) >They put shitty batteries in the phones so that they can justify slowing the phone down, so that they can sell you another phone 365 days down the line. Lithium ion batteries have a C rating. The C rating is the maximum safe discharge. For example a 3000 Mah battery that can discharge in 2 hours has a C rating of .5. A 3000 Mah battery that can discharge in 15 minues has a C rating of 4. No mainstream android phones have to start slowing down the processor/gpu after only a year because the battery has went to shit. They are paying bottom dollar for their batteries and charging a premium price. batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/what_is_the_c_rate
Julian Cox
His fault for losing his phone.
Hunter White
Wouldn’t have been possible if it was an iPhone though, it would have been a useless brick to anyone, even a thief.
Asher Cook
Yeah but they render webpages several milliseconds faster
Sebastian Phillips
no mainstream android phones started slowing down the processor when the battery degrades because the processor is already slow
Hunter Russell
The only reason to buy a cheaper phone is if you can’t afford the iPhone X.
Caleb Thomas
>*slows down after one year due to degraded battery* Heh, nothing personel kid.
Michael Morales
>lying
It throttled after 2-3 years assuming you don’t replace your battery
Bentley King
I decided not to get one after I saw an ad poster for it in JbHiFi and the hand holding the phone was black.
Bentley Howard
You're talking about a few percentage points difference when new vs a 60% decrease from apple for the purposes of getting you to buy a new phone. They literally slow the phone down so much you have to buy a new one.
Tyler Cox
Or you could just replace the battery.
Asher Torres
This post is applefag-tier tech retardation.
Eli Cook
Just want to add If you upgrade your phone every year this isn't a problem for you. If you upgrade every 2 years you're fucked on performance. Unless you upgrade every year you when you brag about about performance* include a * and say (*for the first year of the devices life)
Joshua Adams
Not a problem on android phones.
Leo Gutierrez
Can't wait for it to slow down when the next update comes
Jeremiah Jones
Yes. It is a problem. You suffer inconsistent and lower battery life. Stop pretending Android phones don’t also have lithium ion batteries which degrade, retard. And let’s not forget that a throttled iPhone is still more powerful than a full speed android, generally speaking.
Jonathan Davis
Pattern
Adrian Brown
Actually that’s wrong. It takes about 2 years for the battery to degrade noticeably and if you have AppleCare you can get the battery replaced for free if it degrades within two years.
My girlfriend has a 2 year old 5s (my old phone) and it still runs at full performance on geekbench. My year old iPhone 7 also runs at full performance.
Luke Sanchez
You're using reddit spacing too you absolute retard. How do you fuck up this bad?
Ayden Robinson

Carson Foster
>$1000 for a Sup Forums machine
Jace Adams
Thanks for pointing it out Einstein. What will you tell me next, the colours it is available in? I bought mine 2 years ago.
Evan Harris
I just use my phone for simple stuff. I love not having to worry about defending my phone because "muh benchmarks"
Lucas Gray
>he puts cases on his phones
You are a fucking disgrace.
Henry Wright
Yet you posted in this thread.
Josiah James
the 5s came out in 2013 and thus isnt affected by the throttling which only affects the iphone 6 and 6s so far. I'm not even against you on the issue. You're just making stupid arguments.
Julian Ross
How are you so fucking stupid? Are these the levels of fucking retards I’m dealing with? Throttling is implemented through software.
Gavin Perez
Older batteries suffer lower battery life, but it doesn't effect cpu performance.
Caleb Gomez
>most processing power >is only used as a portable facebook device by the majority 2/10 made me reply
Camden Perez
That's my problem with Apple. The Sup Forums app is banned. Thrid party apps are banned and the phone is unrootable. I don't have a problem with it costing $1000 or even $10,000. But if you're going to spend that kind of money you should be able to compute however the fuck you want to compute.
Adrian Morales

Until it gets throttled.

when it comes to hardware, it is indeed the best. however in practice, it sucks balls. i do not wish to be part of a walled garden. i do what i want with my phone. not what apple wants. also, that notch in the screen and rounded screen corners don't cut it for me. fuck apple and any phone with rounded screen corners.

I got myself one yesterday. Upgraded from a iphone 6.
This is the most amazing phone I've ever used. I was weary of the lack of home button, but the FaceID, gestures, fast charging and dimensions are absolutely perfect.
