They are very poor, poorer than blacks by far, and they have huge issues with alcoholism. I did volunteer work in the Navajo Nation once and they were nice enough people though. I'm sure some of them are still bitter but they're too small and disorganized to do anything, plus the more powerful Indian nations usually already have good deals with state/federal governments and see other Indians as bigger threats.
