Who's ready for the influx of "I got this for chirstmas" posts?

There's somebody on eBay selling Sinn 556i for £750 on leather or £880 on bracelet. Should I get this or will I be so disappointed by it's lack if Sinn-ness that I should save a bit longer and get an 856 to get the tegimented case etc.

I think the 556i only has the SW200 rather than SW300 too.

Personally I like the 856 a little better. I think the bracelet for some reason just doesn't do it for me on the 556. The 856 has the same bracelet but the tegimented look is better imo.

>mfw my father who can’t keep anything in secret mentioned out of the blue that he bought a Citizen for someone
>we haven’t opened the presents yet

I’m expecting a shitter lads

In case anyone cares, the DK105 is up for preorder. Not just a grey dial either.

Maybe it's a vintage one, or a Chronomaster or whatever their super precise one is called.

newfriend here looking for a relatively cheap digital watch for work, thanks

DW5600

...

Posted thin in the earlier thread but repeating my question here. Whats your opinion on Scurfas? Price-spec point seems to be pretty great for a beater diver. 300m WR, sapphire, ceramic bezel and all for 200gbp.

Welp, seems that the new model actually has an aluminium bezel insert.

those of you with a number of automatic watches. how do you keep them all wound?
do you have winders or is it ok to allow some to wind down so long as they are used again often enough

Fuck yes.

Is 1200 € worth it?

Nah, my father just trolled me. I didn’t get any watch, but professional scuba diving goggles instead.

>Chinese outsourced case
>Dirt cheap Unitas 6498 pocket watch movement without listing the grade
>41mm
>1200 €

Are you always the same person replying to me and what is movement grade?

whats a good military watch?
I've seen some nice Seiko field watched but I'm looking for something other than just Seiko
pic related is what I was looking at, either the green or khaki colour, but I pretty much only have Japanese watches as is, and a good chunk of those are Seiko

What does Sup Forums think about watchshop.com/mens-swatch-mesh-up-watch-yws419ga-p100006146.html

I got it for Christmas and can't decide should I keep it or sell it and get something else

Give Vostok a try - the Amphibia is similarly priced to the Seiko 5 but is capable of diving
They provide for the Russian army, so you're using a real military watch currently in use rather than some shitty Seiko

It is quartz

>what is movement grade?

forums.watchuseek.com/f2/smoke-mirrors-part-1-eta-grades-explained-458060.html#/topics/458060

Can someone ID this Casio watch for me please?

if I could find one I'd probably get one
I live in Asia so 90% of my options are Asian
and doesn't Seiko make watches for the Japanese military? Historically they have at least, I know the WWII Jap watches were Seiko

I like the Bulova military watches

Most swiss brands have military watches. Most famous is Hamilton Khaki obviously.

...and?
I mean, I love my automatics but I want my beater to be able to take a beating, also quartz is much more accurate and robust than an automatic (especially in that price range). I have already destroyed a couole if 7S26s just by wearing them as a daily beater.

In addition... quartzs are easier to service and need less of it!

But automatics are mesmerizing...

just buy a casio digital watch dipshit

What are you wearing for Christmas Day /wt/?
I’m wearing my Soviet Raketa Kopernik

200gbp for a quartz doesn't sound like a good deal

just my regular beater, a seiko 5

Where you calling me?

*were

Yes they are. I'm not looking for a watch to replace all of my other watches but I need a solid beater that is reliable no matter what I throw at it.

Yes, it is a quartz, but for the price of 200gbp you also get that 300m WR and a sapphire crystal, plus you get a diver thats actually used and designes by actual commercial divers, so I wouldn't be so quick to call it a poor deal.

Aaanyfuckingway, quartz aversion aside, does /wt/ think this will be a good allaround beater or no?

I have two already
I'd like a durable outdoors/active wear sort of watch
there's a dealer nearby that sells Bulova and I like their stuff, especially the vintage pieces so I might pick one up.
that or Hamilton or the Seiko

I want a g shock rangeman. Should I get a g shock rangeman?

Merry Christmas anons
Pic is what my father has given me on this holy day
Going from the net it looks to be from the mid 40s, possibly with a cal 267 or 30T2. It wears very small at about 30mm without crown. Will get a new strap for sure
Thoughts?

Also post christmas gifts

556 don’t use sellitas to my knowledge, should be ETA

No

if you want to user

Hope everyone’s Christmas is good and you get gifts as cool as this

They stopped using ETA as they've scaled back sales to third parties. They use Sellitas now as they are identical.

Is the movement and lack of Sinn tech not a massive negative though?
I can save a bit and get an 856 for around £1200.

>MUL T I FUNCT I ON T I MEGRAPHER

My wife got me a board with some shit painted on it.

Interesting. My 556 from one year ago is ETA

BASED CHINA

Maybe they still use the 2824 then, I know they use the SW300 in the 856.

Nice user

Posted in the old thread.

Dad got me a mij skx instead of the Invicta diver I asked for

Guess he doesn’t actually hate me

>mij

That thing is huge. Would go for a smaller gshock, or a Pathfinder if you want the features really.

Is it not? It says made in japan

Who the fuck used mij to mean made in Japan? I've been on these threads for years and nobody has ever used mij.
Also no, it's made in Malaysia on a line overseen by a nip.

i had to look up what mij meant
didn't find anything though, thanks for pointing that out to me

I let them run down.

...

I don't like swatch.

My EDC an Invicta pro diver.

Instruments and electronics are commonly referrred to as MIJ, MIA for American. Only teenagers say JDM. I don’t waste time on watch fourms I have a life.

Didn’t think I would create salt are you jelly of a 200$ watch? Wow
I spent much more on hockey gear for myself, perhaps I will buy a more expensive watch next year.
You guys should post up your watches.

Watch noob. Is the Invicta Vintage model 23639 good?

Fresh pasta right there

that was really uncalled for user

>smoking

...

Nothing by Invicta is good

This is neither instruments nor electronics, MIA means missing in action you flid.
JDM doesn't apply either as it's not a watch for the Japanese domestic market. You should've typed SKX007j or just made in Japan.
Also I'm not jealous of your entry level diver, I've got one myself.

Not really. Do you like the skeleton look? If so there may be some better suggestions.

I’m sorry kid, you’re right. Lol you sound so bitter this Christmas.
Go spend some time with family instead of arguing over acronyms.
Hopefully you’ll be able to afford a better watch to post on these fourms someday

>I live in Asia
My condolences

Looks like the invasion of clueless dumbfucks who got their first watch for Christmas has begun. Joy.

Looks like a DW-6900 G-Shock.

Is Johnny Sins finally that guy in porn who doesn't have a total shit taste in watches? Sometimes the iced-out shitters the guys and the girls wear are really distracting.

I got one of these.

Thats utter shit and looks horrible also (nig tier).

The only decent invictas are their rolex submariner homages with Seiko movements. You can see one in this very thread. I wouldnt wear one anyway.

It's amazing that it's functionally the same machine as a Swiss-made Witschi timegrapher, only for the fraction of the cost. Chinks proving how much of a scam artists mountain jews are.

My less liked Rolex, that bezel and the white dial in a non dress watch...

Awesome watch anyway and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, they say.

>nu-Tongji skeleton movement
You can get the same piece of shit on Ebay for $15.

They're not decent in the slightest. Just because it has a $25 seiko movement doesn't make it good.

Where can I buy this?

That's a cool watch.
>Also post christmas gifts
I got a magnetic hourglass, which is related to timekeeping I suppose. Pretty neat.

Yet more normies to give the gift of horology to.

>They're not decent in the slightest. Just because it has a $25 seiko movement doesn't make it good.

They are decent for the price, lets not be full snobs. I said i wouldnt wear one ever also, mind it.

Is that a pressure tester? I got this.

>normies

Me neither, but this looks almost OK. That's why I can't decide keeping it or not.

I know its kinda boring

> Where can I buy this
Just search eBay for timegrapher

>Apple owner
>Falls for an entirely marketing driven Swatch Group shitter brand
Wow, I'm SO surprised.

parents got me this, pretty much looks like a rolex and they only paid $350. best christmas

...

Tissot's not that bad, good value for the money

>Chinese made cases, dials and bracelets with disposable synthetic escapement garbage movements sold to clueless dumbfuck normies entirely based on advertising are a good value

don't be a faggot

No, they're trash. I wouldn't want one if it was free.

>tfw no autistic dad that gets me vintage omegas from eBay
You are lucky, user.

I wish I got timekeeping related presents for Christmas, but I’m always the one to do them. I got my brother this cool XL wooden box flip clock from Karlsson.

Do report back with if it's any good. I have seen high praises for it here and online and am tempted to get it.

The pressure tester or the book? If the book, as a different user who owns it, it's near but not a very practical read. Daniels goes into pages and pages of detail on the exact shape of the teeth if the gear, for example. If you are actually trying to build a tourbillon wristwatch from scratch in your garage it's indispensable but otherwise I prefer something more like this.

It's *neat but

same old shitter but i got some other stuff in the works
