This same shit was parroted around here at launch that there was ads in the start menu that you couldn't disable among others things, and guess what, literally one of the first things W10 asks you while it's setting up is "Do you want to turn adverts in the start menu off?"

No there isn't any evidence that it's not, but I'm asking if there is anything behind these claims that MS is secretly doing awful shit to your machine. As far as I can see, yes these telemetry systems and forced updates are shady in themselves, but in most places they do tell you what they do and what they are for.
