Not to mention its making AMD’s Radeon GPU...

Not to mention its making AMD’s Radeon GPU, which is supposed to be marketed as affordable to gamers even more unobtainable to any one looking at building an affordable gaming rig because the miners are buying the stock way to fast to fuel their bitcoin greed leaving Nvidia to basically control the GPU market meaning they can charge what ever they want because they know AMD cannot produce enough to keep up with demand.

ITT: We try to explain economics to leftists, again

>nocoiners actually believe this

How is Nvidia "controlling" the GPU market when AMD is selling boat loads of GPUs to miners?
Seems like AMD is doing quite well.

Americans

Anyone with half a brain can see that bitcoin is casino-gambling tier "investing". Either take your chances or just ignore it and go do something else. Why care if it crashes to zero or goes to a million?

Its definitely annoying, what bugs me is why AMD and Nvidia don't increase supply to meet demand. This is a simple SvD problem and unless they are maxing out in terms of what they can manufacture (I doubt this) doesn't it mean they are leaving money on the table?

Because regularized market doesn't have any of that, right

Right wing """politics""" are a scam too
The only real question is interventionist or non-interventionist, the answer to which is, ofcourse, non interventionist
I also am not American, why does everyone assume only burgers have the right to believe in a free market

>Why care if it crashes to zero or goes to a million?
To actually match that level of projected growth it'll need to consume all the global energy supply and it can't stop preforming those calculations or it'll be worthless

>Bitcoin Mining on Track to Consume All of the World’s Energy by 2020
newsweek.com/bitcoin-mining-track-consume-worlds-energy-2020-744036

That link is probably retarded, and let me explain why
In economics, you can easily view a secluded event and analyze it. That is a valid way of researching any particular market.
What you dont understand though, is how the rest of the market moves around that event
In this scenario, if bitcoin draws up more and more energy, people will decide if they prefer to mine bitcoins or eg power their refridgerator
After a certain threshold, bitcoin cant progress because people's subjective value on it will also go south

Illegal activity, speculators or which ones do you mean?

>climate change
i guess we truly do live in an age where anything and everything can be blamed on anything and everything
>rent-seekers
err ok?
>scams & theft
oh please scams & theft happen in every type of society. from communist utopias to cold hard anarchy capitalism. there is nothing unique about anything in the creation of scams & theft
>useless for real purchases
eh this is not the fault of crypto coins and more of an issue with governments and retail establishments from adopting it. governments its understandable because they're not in charge of it and want to cling on to what they can control (buzzword "regulate"). whole point in government is power and control after all. retail establishments because they still feel uncertain about adopting it because of government and the fact everyone and their mother has their own coin. i just saw a new one last night get created called crypto kitties.

Illegal activity is the government (the market regulator) forcing citizens into involuntary exchanges by trying to put arbitrary prices on things without asking them
Speculators are, again, the government, waiting to seize more power at any given point
Yeah interventionist policies are *always* worse than a free market

HELP

both

>eh this is not the fault of crypto coins and more of an issue with governments and retail establishments
No, it's because of volatility. Nobody wants to use a currency that might gain or lose half of its value during the course of a transaction. The volatility is the natural outcome for a "currency" based on literally nothing and deliberately designed to be impossible to regulate.

>The only real question is interventionist or non-interventionist, the answer to which is, ofcourse, non interventionist
This is just fedoretarded enough for you to sound like a genuine retard rather than a troll.

>Yeah interventionist policies are *always* worse than a free market
For the handful of people who own the businesses that dominate the market, sure. Not so much for the rest of humanity.

>true marketing

>bitcoin causes muh global warming
Even more incentive to start cranking out some new nuclear plants.

Speculators are so high in numbers because there is almost no tax on exchange of stock. It would hurt rich and powerful people, so government avoids taxing them.

Illegal trading is more prevalent where the state doesn't intervene with policies or police. If goverment would legalise weed ( dude weed lmao president ) a lot of people would prefer not to be persecuted ( some people fear the police ) so they would pay the taxes and adhere to rules.

calm down there conspiritard schoolboy

how did you manage to fuck that up?

Nvidia is chasing after the real profitable market

AI, deep learning, machine learning, FP64 HPC

AYYMD going after scraps of Buttcoin miners only hurts them

Do you know how those handful of people make a lot of money and dominate the market?
In an interventionist market they just lobby, ill let you find out how it works in a free market

AMD is also going after AI and Deep learning, one thing AMD doesn't have is nearly as huge of a budget as nVidia.

Renewables aren't a scam, it's just nuclear energy is renewable energy on steroids. Still no pollution and a metric buttload more power. Not to mention that modern reactors are capable of running off of nuclear waste.

No the real question is individualism or collectivism, everything after sorts itself out

>it's just nuclear energy is renewable energy on steroids
Except for
You know

Price

Is that in the same sense that coal is a dirty renewable energy source?

>For the handful of people who own the businesses that dominate the market, sure. Not so much for the rest of humanity.
Except those policies almost always help them. Contrary to leftytard beliefs monopolization and centralization of markets has steadily increased with the number of regulations. Clearly something is going wrong. Government policies are only helping the super rich while the smaller guys suffer because they have no money to defend themselves in courts, where the typical cost of legal fees is in the dozens of millions.

Ask yourself how individual people collectively find out their need of a product and how many of them are satisfied with the final decision

If the rate of return on one barrel of oil used mining bitcoins is higher than the alternative uses than that's where it's going to move towards. Bitcoin isn't competing so much with consumer goods such as refrigerators [although it is kind of I suppose] but with the mass of wealth looking for a maximum return and with interest rates low why won't money keep flowing in?

Worth it. I'd rather see one expensive plant than acres upon acres of wind turbines and solar panels.

No, in the sense that neither pollutes. Coal is fucking atrocious, coal plants are more radioactive than equivalent power nuclear plants.

Nuclear ain't renewable amd certainly not portable like oil is. 100 years worth of urainium, another 100 in nulcear weapons and thorium still needs to be researched ( reserves are quite low as far as people know ). Also:
> building a nuclear plant ( creating its parts counted, too ) produces a lot more CO2 per joules of electricity produced throughout its lifetime
> current safety regulations make it unprofitable to build nuclear plants without state pumping money into it
> waste produced by waste-eating reactors still needs to kept somewhere ( although its better than non-reused material )

Other than that, poster is right. This wind/solar/hydropower vs nuclear is too overrated. We will build both.

I'm not saying nuclear energy literally is renewable, I'm saying it's comparable in the sense that plant operation emits no pollution.
>safety regulations and waste disposal
Yes, we need to unfuck our laws and find a replacement for Yucca Mt.

A lot of those laws are sane. Not sure if nuclear will be profitable with those untouched. Anti-nuclear hysteria erected some good regulations, too.

I'm not saying they're all bad but there are some that simply get in the way of making progress with nuclear.

>"WOW, if you extrapolate the slope on the single day that bitcoin used the most energy, it will climbs really fast"

Facebook is degrading images

Fucking idiot.
Bitcoin reached 20000 times the value of $ without even 1 war, without maintaining a cartel, without one drop of blood spilled, without bailing even a single piece of a jew-bank...
Bitcoin is one of the forms of currency that jews cannot control.
On another notice, money is full of scams, rent-seekers, theft, corruption and the list is endless.

Nvidia's stock is worth 20 times more than AMD stock.

I do think while crypto is the future, bitcoin necessarily isn't. Probably something easier to control and more efficient.

Nuclear energy is quite literally renewable. Uranium extraction from seawater has proven to be feasible, though not economically viable as of right now. Check it

forbes.com/sites/jamesconca/2016/07/01/uranium-seawater-extraction-makes-nuclear-power-completely-renewable/#50d5a336159a

Also, like a previous user said, breeder reactors can make fresh fuel from spent fuel, which serves as a second source of renewable power. Question becomes do we go ahead with the mountain repository like Congress said they had originally wanted or will they fuck over reliable power on behalf of screeching "environmentalists".

>alpha stage of hugely revolutionary technology with massive economic and social ramifications gets hijacked by jews
>"f-filthy capitalists! you with me, fellow tweeters?"

Sooner or later crypto miners will sell the residual energy to heat houses and water.
if you're building a new house, why not integrate mining from the start?
Even a tiny 2 kW setup can easily heat two rooms.
