While my 15 is direct impingement, it would still take a hell of a lot of shooting and a hell of a lack of basic cleaning to make it start having problems. I still have the FA and dust cover, the BCG is milspec, and it functions well and fine within expectations.

If I wanted to spend 1500 on an AR, I would honestly build one through Palmetto and make a custom super AR.

As for custom AR's, yes, it actually is worth it. You can build some pretty great AR's that hit all the top marks in quality
