/AN GHAEILGE/

A chairde, a bhfuil in ann ár dteanga galánta a labhairt, tar le chéile 's go dtaispeánfaidh díobh go bhfuil teanga féin againn, 's is féidir linne í a labhairt.

Oro se do bheathe bhaile

Ceapaim nach labhraíonn muid teanga na Sasanaigh, an "béarla". Is teanga uafásach é, an bhfuil ceart agam?

what is this meme elf language?

Why does it bother you brits so much?
Nuair atá mé ag labhairt an teanga.

It's so hilarious seeing Anglos get tremendously assgitated over simple shit like this

not a real language

Isn't it just?

Dia daoibh!

Dia is Muire duit, cén chaoi a bhfuil tú innui?

Táim ag mothú go maith, agus tusa?

top kek

Sames. It's kinda like the religious wars down in brown land there.

>all the triggered Brits ITT

Cén fáth nach bhfuil níos mó daoine anseo ina féidir leo Gaeilge labhairt?
Lads, tar isteach.

Lads someone linked me to a torrent for beginners Irish in /éire/ a while ago but he mustve forgot that piratebays dead a doorstop, and i couldn't find any on proxybay

Any other ways i can learn from home? With work i just dont have the time to take a course.
Go raibh maith agat

For casual basics and beginning you could just try duolingo.
There's an online dictionary called Focloir.ie, which can conjugate verbs and prepositions and gives phrases and such.
Nualeargais.ie has literally everything grammar wise.

I heard duolingo was shite though.
Ill give it a go and sure yous can always correct me when it's wrong
Appreciate it lad, have this Ireland Wojack

I'm the user from the thread.

The torrent I linked is seeding right now.

I fucking love you lad
Gon link it again for us

Not a bother
With what I told you and this And an hour a night you should be speaking it no time. You're gonna need a person to actually speak to though, and don't focus too heavily on grammar.
It's very easy to get bogged down on.
Start with simple stuff: my name is, I'm x years old, I live in x, I like sport because of x and y.

Once you hot those down, you're clean sailing
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat, a chara.

Dont mean to be a pain in the arse but am i looking at the right thing? Pic related
Cheers lad, one of my friends is fluent and he's always saying he misses having someone to speak irish to, plus i know a lass in donegal who's fluent aswell so i should get enough opportunities

Curious about Urban Irish though, is that a common thing? Would ye use it yourself?

Why on Earth would you want to learn this absolutely useless language? I can't think of a single good reason.

>lmao why would you have hobbies
>stop taking part in your culture you retard lmao
>just stop learning things man hahaha

Urban Irish? Like slang Irish?
The only thing I think of is dropping the 'an' in an question
Like 'an bhfuil tú' - Are you?
To 'bhfuil tú?' - Are you?
Or not using the correct way of the chopail.
Is é m'athair - He's my dad
'Sé m'áthair - He's my dad

If that's what you meant, then I guess so

fucking nightmare trying to get this downloaded, everything seems like a virus tbqh

help me lads, none of the bays are working :(

question lads
>Is bean í
>Is misé Conal
why is the "Is" present when referring to yourself and someone else?

Because it's the chopail.
It's standard for denoting things/people.
nualeargais.ie/gnag/kopul3.htm

so the "is" is what makes it present tense?

>just finished my first lesson
>no weak words
proudpaddy.jpeg

Yup.
The past is ba, which is also the conditional. There is no future.

But you can use other ways of expressing the future.

Is garda é = tá sé ina gharda
He is a garda
Beidh sé ina gharda = he will be a garda

go raibh maith agat
so how would i use that in a personal sense, for example
I will be 21
Beidh mé fische?

20*

That'd be 'beidh 20 bhliain slánaithe agam'
