The capitol of Washington is Olympia, which is deeper in Puget Sound. The idea behind a lot of State capitols is that they are in a geographical location that is difficult to reach. This is so that in the case of an invasion, it is more difficult for the invading forces to siege the capitol. If you were to take a ship and enter Puget Sound, you would pass through Seattle before you reach Olympia.

Look at California. If the capitol was San Francisco, it would be far easier for an invading power to capture San Francisco than Sacramento, which is further inland.

Because the US is the biggest consumer market in the world and pandering to its consumers is good business sense. A game that makes it big in the US is near guaranteed a global audience. For Latin Americans we still rely mostly on game developers targetting the American hispanic demographic rather than our own countries, since most of those are Mexicans and Mexico is the largest Spanish speaking country in terms of population that's the reason you get a lot of Mexican as a default for our area. Brasil is the largest independent consumer so it also gets a nod, and skins/characters based on it's culture, which does have the advantage can sometimes be made to appeal to the American black demographic. Unfortunately for many of the consumers in Latin America the choice between a Mexican or a Brasilian is no choice at all, and many no doubt prefer as a default a Spaniard, Italian or US native American.

In all fairness however the gaming market in Asia is huge, given this is a developer's hub actually a lot bigger than Western gaming, we don't get to see it because of language barriers and localizations, although again, it caters to Japanese, Koreans and Chinese and rarely anyone else.

He's wrong, capitol means the building where the government does things. For example the Capitol Building of the US. The US has a federal capitol, and all 50 states have a state Capitol building. Capital means city, all capitol building is in a states capital city. So the US capitol (where congress meets) is located in washington DC, which is the capital (city) of the U.S.
