i used to think like that as well until i worked in a hotel as a cook filled with germans.
Everyday was a a blast. They were always laughing, telling jokes, doing pranks on the chef that was also german. And they were still highly professional.
I think they're just better at separating between play time and work time desu.

It makes them rich and influential, but they are also rigid and unfeeling due to their bureaucratic nature. If you truly convinced a German say, that killing all the Turks would improve GDP and be a benefit for Germany (Or the opposite, that bringing millions of them into Turkey would be a benefit), they could carry out the procedure without feeling anything, as long as it fit their robotic programming. They believe everything they see and read on the TV and have an unflinching loyalty to the state.

I get happy when I see refugees enter Germany and murder people. All the Germans I've known IRL have been super open borders and gotten incredibly angry at me whenever I suggested that might be a bad thing. Talked to a German today who said that I'm an idiot for saying letting in 1,000,000 refugees is a bad idea. He told me Angela Merkel will just send them all back to Syria when the war is over so it's not a problem. They just seem so naive and unaware.

I feel like the reason Germans imported so many hundreds of thousands of refugees during the migrant crisis, devoting their entire budget surplus to them, is much the same. They want to show how they are so loving and much better than other countries by taking so many, when on the ground it will be a terrible thing for many people, as has already been seen. They don't feel the consequences of their actions and only work on a robotic level. More migrants = higher GDP = we look more progressive and liberal, therefore it's good.

Obviously we imported them for having access to massive amounts of cheap soldiers. Not all of them are ISIS you know.

Because we are competitve. The most calm and effective one wins. Atm the economy is the only battlefield we can thrive at. So being economical and and analytic are good traits.
