Each one of those tiny provinces before unification was already highly advanced and really at the peak of it's time, there's a million "German" inventions, discoveries, scientists from before Germany existed as a state.
They already had the same language and nearly identical culture, think of Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, very close but barely different so unification was seamless.

I would also say that if you guys invaded Britain instead of Russia, you'd have probably went a lot further with your already massive empire.
To be clear, I don't agree with Hitler or the Nazi Party on any of their ideals. I don't like the fact that Germany killed a lot of innocent people, but I do feel fascinated as an outsider by just how quickly you guys were able to rise and fall and then rise back up again.
