Why haven't you installed LEDE on your consumer grade router to adblock directly on your router instead of every single device?

I actually leave the house from time to time and my laptop and smart phone should still have ad blocking then.
So I have to configure them individually anyway.

I do have a router running LEDE though.

Doesn't this kill bandwidth, since it can't take advantage of whatever hardware manufacturers integrated to accelerate throughput?

No hardware NAT. Cannot reach speeds over 100Mb/s.

that screws up ios downloads for me for some reason.

it literally does not support wifi on my archer c5, rendering it useless for what it's intended purpose is

So it blocks traffic from malicious companies? Sounds great!

i dont know. appstore wont download/update apps. so i guess its broken.

its supposed to block ads and allow downloads.

i got tired tinkering and went back to DDWRT.

It blocks traffic from/to malicious companies. Your apple phone not updating is proof it works.

>Not recommended for future use with LEDE due to low flash/ram.
thanks for reminding me that I still have an ancient Netgear router

>hardware NAT
That's a hack which should accelerate traffic but irl scenarios breaks stuff because it doesn't adhere to the standards.
Anyway, it's bullshit that you can't get speeds over 100Mb/s without it.

>hardware NAT
You misspelled unpatchable hardware backdoors.

I'll take software NAT every day of the week, thanks. Security is more important to me thatn a few extra MB/s

I'm using Tomato.

I don't care. Reverse engineer that shit. I am staying with a pfsense router. I have gigabit fiber and I cannot piss away speed. Enjoy your shitty cumcast internet USFag.

bugs.lede-project.org/index.php?do=details&task_id=820

Not a burger but okay.

Also, not much enjoying "fast" internet on a vulnerable system when the chinks extort you for buttcoins.

its not working properly then.

its supposed to block ads while allowing me to update my apps.

I got rid of that turd router. Now I have a pfsense box. LEDE/Openwrt is for plebs anyway.

Your apps are pulled from a malicious company, which is blocked. Sounds like it works as advertized.

i don't want to brick my router
i have dd-wrt on it right now

They are still playing around with Qualcomm Fast Path. That's open source but they are clearly wasting time with merging LEDE and Openwrt.

forum.lede-project.org/t/announcing-the-openwrt-lede-merge/10217

Any reason to use LEDE over Tomato?

>oh no someone reported a bug on one router model
My point still stands: it's bullshit that you can't get speeds over 100Mb/s without """hardware NAT""".

The build of LEDE I'm using for my router has qualcomm fastpath enabled, but I don't have a connection >100mbit/s to test a bottleneck with, I'm only at 25mbps.

because I use DD-wrt and Pi-hole

I have

how to use pi-hole on DDWRT?

Because it doesn't have support for ISDN, Fax receiving, and DECT. What use is all the free software if my original german fritz box only works with half the features i want?

so it looks like only lantiq SoCs are a problem here

apps like messenger.

it used to work. it only stopped working after 1 week.

i got pi-hole on a pi. my point is, I don't feel the need to change it

Get a phone that respects your freedom and privacy.

Proof is there in that bug report. You can actually see the speedtest.

I'm holding out until I'm sure they've merged patches for that WPA2 exploit into my router's firmware.

Not as powerful as uBlock origin with defusers and what not, no cosmetic filtering, more annoying to whitelist stuff

you realise you can set your dns to your home network right

But covers things not within your browser.

LEDE does not support wireless on my router.

Because

How does lede compare to tomato?

I installed it and now only one of the ethernet ports on my router works.

>not buying a router with a CPU fast enough to route gigabit
ROUTERLET DETECTED

>on your consumer grade router
nigga what

pfSense box master race

You do realize opening UDP/53 for all internet is worse than being whore, right?
And please don't tell about port-knocking or tunnels.

The 2000s called, they want their alternative router firmware meme back.

Because APU2 with OpenBSD is superior.

Isn't LEDE dead since they merged with OpenWrt?

>cosumer grade router
>actually uses money on cosumer shit tier
>not having enterprise tech free from work
just why

using pi-hole for this
wait, they merged again ?

Like a week ago I think

I thought the whole reason for LEDE was that OWRT was going downhill internally
