>audi A6 C5 1.9TDI (2002) >its not battery 100% >it cranks but wont start >oil light comes up if I let it crank for too long
it did not start on sunday, I thought cold and battery battery recharged over night, tried today in the morning could not get it start left it like that and came back and its dark outside (europe here) so I am planning what will I try in the morning
I watched some videos and read some stuff what I plan to do
- check oil - check if fuel pump is working, if fuel is getting in to the engine, loosen something and see it spray, though not sure what, will need research - bleed air is the term I believe, idea similar as above? air is getting in to the fuel intake or something, will need research - starter engine - one of dozens of sensors
what else should I consider? I already have pirted VAG but waiting of KKL obd2 cable

>audi they are everywhere in europe so parts are cheap and expertise is common older models are also not as over-engineered so they are easy to maintain, reliability coming from which engine you got 1.9 is fine, 2.5 is suffering
Samuel Wood
They're basically an overpriced GLI for cucks who wanna pretend they're richfags. You only buy one of them if you like getting buttfucked by the germans.
Gabriel Campbell
Have you tried wacking the starter with a wrench and then having someone immediately try to turn the car over?

This really belong in O, but here's a few thoughts anyway:
>- check oil
not a bad idea Einstein..
>- check if fuel pump is working, if fuel is getting in to the engine, loosen something and see it spray, though not sure what, will need research
Turn the car on accessory, and you should hear the fuel pump prime. If not, check voltage at pump. You would have to check from the fuel rail to see fuel given the pump is working. Leave this to your mechanic.
>- bleed air is the term I believe, idea similar as above? air is getting in to the fuel intake or something, will need research
nah
>- starter engine
If it's cranking it's likely fine
>- one of dozens of sensors
maybe. check codes. quick and dirty disconnect battery and then reconnect to reset computer. see what happens.
Daniel Williams
When i see cars on the street they always have that lid down, perhaps it works if you try closing it and then try starting it again?

Diesels don't have sparkplugs. However they have sometimes glowplugs. But I am sure OP didn't suddenly forget how to glow them... although I already had to remind another guy to glow them...

Is it getting compression then

no shit Jamal, they're rebadged VW's for schmucks that don't mind getting swindled for that "muh premium" status, obviously they're going to be everywhere

Assuming there is no check engine light,
I know you say you're sure it's not the battery but recharging it will not help it if the chemicals in the battery have degraded. The battery might just be at the end of its life.
I own a VW with a similar engine to the one in yours (it's a 3-cylinder 1.4 litre version) and this happened to me last month. The cold weather seems to cause the battery to pack in.
Also the starter motor would be the next most likely culprit. These kind of diesel engines are a bitch to get running, especially if it's at all cold.
Nathan Robinson
You can't afford it pal.
Hudson Kelly
A 3cyl 1.4tdi HAS NOTHING SIMILAR TO a 1.9, which you don't even know if it is a VP or PD since being a 2002 there's a chance to be either one.
Faggot OP should get someone with VCDS and do a fucking scan instead of trying to do guesswork.
And you, you piece of shit, stop spewing shit like you just did.
