user, please be more respectful of mpv developers pronouns/avatars/etc

No mpc-be/madvr? Why? The meme user-shader thing?

MadVR is total shit and so is all the players that can use it. Also Windows only so even if it was good (which it isn't) it would still be shit.

Which DE for less shitty mpv experience?

It's still maintained unlike the renderer part of mpv!

Exwm. There's actually a library in Emacs that let's me use mpv as the backend for Emms when playing my music. I can control mpv remotely through Emacs, which is really nice when streaming music.

And not for jobless or vagrant people... ;^)

What are you implying?

Budgie, Enlightenment or KDE.

However real god-tier is to use xinit, like I do, to open mpv in its own xserver instance on tty7 and bypass the DE/WM/Bullshit entirely.

Windows only means more robust and with less retarded issues.
Furthermore mpv only works correctly on recent linux with recent proprietary drivers with proper opengl.

>mpv only works correctly on recent linux with recent proprietary drivers

Freetards BTFO.

No exotic DE, it's already difficult to choose between the mainstream ones. :^)

Then use Kwin or GWM.

Plasma is cool but looks really shitty with gtk applications like inkscape or hexchat.

Could you explain why you hate madvr and windows that much? I really want to understand but it's hard for me.

Proprietary software.

Even latest LTS linux kernel is full of proprietary shits you know, so it's not an argument.

What is Linux-libre?

Looks a little bit bloated. I will try.

Huh, mpv with vulkan gives me better performance on windows.

It's still an untested shit.

A shit that mostly works on 2 or 3 devices.

That's your fault.

And its still better than d3d?! Damn, imagine when its even more optimized!

dwm.

Sorry to protect my creations from evil creatures.

Sure a shitty company like khronos will succeed to destroy d3d/metal supremacy. You are too optimistic.

>Sure a shitty company like khronos...
explain

Looks terrible!

All the standards they wanted to impose were shit and failed.

>All the standards they wanted to impose were shit and failed.
explain

D3D and metal still exist... :D

>j-just watch, vulkans gunna be shit. y-you just watch.
>meanwhile I'm getting better performance on vulkan even though its "untested shit".
sure thing user

That looks really good.

Windows 98 looks better!

mpv works great on i3 for me.

You have blatantly shit taste.

>de
>wm

dwm

Not a taste, it's a fact!

Real god tier is to use drm-egl as the backend directly.

yea, take macs out, they eat shit and like it

d3d, was the only option for a long time due to how clusterfucky opengl was, vulcan is shown better then dx12 in nearly all regards, it takes tome to reimplement a different api, we won't see it overnight but from my understanding most game devs are moving to vulcan if they aren't ms first party.

Is Madshi really working on a D3D11 renderer?

anybody else getting certificate error when playing yt links on standalone ytdl.exe?

Is is possible to set a key in the input config to cycle between various glsl-shaders? I can't seem to get it working.

x cycle-values glsl-shaders "~~/shader1.glsl" "~~/shader2.glsl"

Huh, didn't work with the full path but this seems to work fine. Thanks!

fasten your seatbelts lads

here we go again

Ah, it wouldn't be a nu-mpv thread without you, anata

Absolute noob here.
How do you open/edit the .conf?

With any txt editor. Notepad for instance.
You create the file and change it to a conf file.

I use XFCE. No problems.

>Charbonnier only looks good with high neuron count
NOOOOO

gotcha
thanks!

Hopefully yes.

It was predictable.

Yes, madshi's ngu is still the king. :(

who remembers this

>no more haasn
>very slow, almost dead libplacebo development
is 2018 the /madvr/ year?

How is mpv with audio channel mapping?

I have to adjust mono/5.1 sound to stereo accordingly.

IDZ HABBENINGZ

which filters

Pleb here.

Why should I use this over the Kawaii Codec Pack? Honest question because I have no idea.

Presumably the remaining GPL audio filter chain code.

How am I supposed to change the subtitle font with the windows build?
Also, I'd like to auto-loop every file instead of just mpv shutting down after playing.

If you have no idea than you probably dont have much knowledge on programming and video rendering and should stick to whats easy for you. If you want to learn some stuff, try it.

sub-font=
loop-file=inf

Took me 20 secs to look up. Step your game up.

Thanks man, I tend to overthink that stuff

...

they still haven't fixed this shit?

w4m really gotta get his shit together

w4m is a piece of shit that refuses to fix this as it doesn't affect his system

wtf i hate mpv now
