ABANDONED PCs

apparently that place was abandoned around 2002 and the pc was still running, stuck at boot sequence

spoopy classic. the abandoned pc shop

the photo album at 11:30 really tugs at me

all those people gone, no record of who they were, who their family were, when or where they lived. all turning to dust.

...

Someone in the comments pointed out that the person who lived there might still "be" somewhere under all that stuff.

2006 abandoned holiday resort near japan, photo from 2013

>Abandoned since 2002
>Environment, although cluttered, is almost fully clean of any dust
>Bed is clean as fuck
Who is this shitty video tries to fool?

...

>FrozenCPU will be this in several years from now
Remember that MELTDOWN of his, famalams?

You're used to places that had some of its structure failing or the roof coming down somewhere inside which generates tons of dust.
If literally nothing happens inside for over a decade it won't be covered in thick dust, only in a very thin layer.

Thanks user I've been looking for this picture for a couple of months now.

abandoned calle

I really bothers me GREATLY that he didn't clear the keyboard and rebooted the machine to look what was done the last time on it or to when the last activity dates back. And we will never know because apparently the place got fucking looted not long ago, thanks to urbanmeme explorers.

So much potential WASTED.

i feel kinda dumb watching this entire whispering atmosphere building thing, but i love this kind of abandoned place break-ins.

when i was a kid, i used to break into almost abandoned brick factory, it had untouched shelves and lockers, i remember reading documents concerning parents of people i knew, various more or less personal things, from simple memos about extra money for working in hazardous enviroment to schedules with a note about someone slacking off. Not just that, i was into parkour back then, and this place had all of the cool stuff, little barriers, walls to climb, but my best memories of this place were those personal belongings. reading raw materials from the past just feels so good.

but why would someone pay for electricity in an abandoned place?

Nigger, stop. Just fucking stop, nigger.
Dust collects EITHER way with time, as it's literally everywhere and being moved by air. Unless you're living deep underground in an almost-vacuum sealed structure (like a one-piece solid metal bunker that was just installed in a dug up hole), dust WILL get into a room. ALWAYS. It WILL inevitably. ESPECIALLY in 10+ years of not cleaning the shit up.

urban exploring became just another youtube ad revenue cow but on the other hand lots of time capsules got filmed that I otherwise would have never seen in my life and it fascinates me.

>ywn break into an abandoned arcade store and get sucked into a weird computer in the basement

>abandoned holiday resort near japan
Fukushima?

that crt must have some really nice burn in if its been like that for years.

The abandoned building section basement at my old job disagrees after almost two decades(and no, it's far from vacuum sealed).
Also, calm your tits.

did you know that it accepts anything except a blank answer when you get that captcha? cant get easier than that.

it seems the CRT went into standby, so no burn in.

>I used to break in almost abandoned factory
Lol, I still do, doesn't matter if it's abandoned or not, if only it pays the bill! Loot is loot, don't discriminate if house is abandoned or not.
For moral fags: if owner isn't at home then it's almost abandoned.

the most triggering part with those urban faggots is that they like to destroy everything. something may have been untouched for a really long time but then these faggot children come and destroy everything.

>babbie's first trohl

I just hope that you stick to businesses and don't go around robbing people's houses. Then you'd be a nigger

He is one anyways

Looks very postapocalyptic! Where was photo taken? Would like to visit

...

how would that happen? i have never seen display power management on that part of the booting process.

The standby from the CRT itself, not controlled by the PC.
My old CRT also went into standby if I let it sit at the DOS prompt for the while set in the display menu

i dont believe that these places would be fully abandoned. someone pays for that electricity for some reason.

Ffs, why didn't he continue the boot sequence

DAT HP INTELLIGENT TERMINAL HNNNNGGGGGGG

Yeah, I'm not buying a nuclear anything being abandoned. Various anti-terrorist laws and such.

You can look it up, they were really slacking in security until the meme explorers increased tenfold.
Those plants of course weren't completely abandoned but they were lazy with the sec.

This takes me back

I once explored an abandoned brick factory with my friends, it had a bunch of homeless people living there, who weren't around at the time fortunately. It had furniture, food, beds, hygiene products there.
It was weird realizing that we just basically broke into someone's living space.
Obviously we didn't take anything because we weren't niggers.

Are absolute majority of these photos from New Orleans/Detroit after the floods, or something?

This guy always always respects the property. He has tons of great videos

youtube.com/watch?v=VOo5sctjc1g

Oh god, why are shop owners such fucking retards?

detroit

....shit i remembered smells of plastic when booting pc

Old PCs and especially CRTs smelled comfy but the smell was probably unhealthy as FUCK.

Ain’t that the neverending story or some shit

I've heard that some of these old power plants keep power without anybody really knowing. Because they're wired directly into the national grid, or something. I don't know if it's true, but it sounds reasonable.

Who's paying for the electricity?

There are abandoned places like that all over Japan, as the country goes older there are entire cities that just lie abandoned like that. Those pictures are usually from public buildings like schools or maternities that stopped getting funding.

muh HDR

yeah, pure pixelpuke. I wish that meme would fucking vanish already.

>entire cities that just lie abandoned

That's China and the cities aren't so much abandoned as they were built overnight without anyone to live there in the first place.

...

Both countries have problems for different reasons. China's abandoned cities are just asset protection for Jack Mom and other chinese entrepreneurs.

Japan is suffering from severe population decline. There are Youtube channels dedicated to exploring Japan's ruin porn, go have a look.

screen must have nasty burn in by now

it was turned off

>That's China and the cities aren't so much abandoned as they were built overnight without anyone to live there in the first place
They are fortress.

youtu.be/aAG5ucw0Wt4?t=6237

Working telephone exchange in abandoned factory.

A fortress kind of needs soldiers to man it and weapons to defend it.
These are just empty cities built because the central government felt the poor people village was ugly so they bulldozed it and put up an apartment building too expensive for them to afford.

If you visit them you will get mobbed by real estate agents desperate to sell you property.

have you ever considered that jews might not be responsible for everything bad in your life?

I'm more surprised about lack of animals/bugs/plants. But maybe with average americafat house being in middle of a concrete suburbia and highly sterile environment stretching for hundreds of miles it's possible. But then americans are the only ones that get allergy to peanuts caused by growing up in too sterile environment.

YIPEE YAY
THERE'LL BE NO WEDDING BELLS FOR TODAYYYY

>Japan is suffering from severe population decline.

Next thing you will post is recommending they NEED to invite the whole world or they will go under!

Imagine making video like this, but actually robing people houses.

>all those CRTs and terminals
I have an innate, primal need to rescue all of these
fucking things are getting way harder to find all of a sudden

but seriously, fuck that postprocessing

I wanna see how the places look, not some bullshit artsy hdr filters

all chernobyl pictures have the same disease

>as the country goes older there are entire cities that just lie abandoned like that
Japan has immense over-growth and housing space problem due to country being so small and a fucking island, and you're telling me they're deliberately abandoning all that housing they worked their goddamn asses of for so fucking hard for so many years just like that? Come the fuck on.

same with the stupid shit they whisper when visiting those places and the meme music they put in every fucking urbex video.

That looks more like a television studio control room from the equipment I see. Had similar older stuff back in high school which was all hand-me-down stuff.

Fallout playing normalfaggots and memepunk hipsters have invaded this as well

I bet this happened or will happen some day

>user lives alone in the house that was his family's once
>user is too busy lurking in all the boards, gaymen, eating cheetos, drinking mountaindew and monster
>meanwhile his house deteriorates more and more and trash piles up everywhere
>the garden once beautifully maintained by his parents is now a jungle
>user fapping in the livingroom suddenly gets a foot through his window by invading urbex meme youtubers

>ABANDONED HOME WITH EVERYTHING STILL THERE AND POWER STILL RUNNING AND Sup Forums ON A MONITOR!

>ABANDONED HOUSE WITH STILL WARM TENDIES AND MTN DEW | SCARY | HD

>brave urbex meme youtubers brave the sea of spam mail, paper fast food and doritos bags, and assorted other paper trash spread across the living room floor
>one enters the bathroom only to panic and shout "don your gasmasks!" as he see all the dried out orange piss on the floor
>suddenly there's the sound of headphones hitting the floor and the tarnished bedroom door opens
>SHIT SHIT SHIT GET OUT RUN HES HERE!

Wish I can remember the website and images, but I found a, to me at least, a neat one. It was some office (building, i only remember the inside images) in Japan that was left untouch. I still remember some of the computers left behind. Mostly Macs during the G4 era (G4 graphite color cases and G4 MDD), a Sun Cobalt Qube, a few PCs, and I want to say I thought I seen a SGI system or two in the images.

Goddamn the comments on this video about the computer people are talking like this nigga found a stargate or something

Some what. Japan is made up of more then just one island. One is completely abandon (man-made island? cant remember). But Japan does indeed have a shit ton of abandon areas.

I want to know why this hasn't been robbed yet. Someone somewhere would love this stuff.

lol'd heartily. thx guys

Nobody in Japan wants to live in the countryside.

These are usually old office buildings or amusement parks built in cheap land in the 80s in an attempt to revitalize an area with an aging population.

Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
When it fails, it's cheaper to just leave the property abandoned than try to sell it. Eventually, another nearby city will get large enough to make it worth owning again.

Turned it on six months ago...saw thread and went to check....still on but I powered it down.

It's a tron reference

NIGGA IS THAT AN IBM MODEL M INDUSTRIAL

Ok.....so what's it worth or is it historical?

Comfy thread.

our storage of old stuff, circa 2012

That Japan is in population decline is a fact, I'm not arguing how to solve it. Calm down your tits, Sup Forums.

FAKE AND GAY LMAO
