Continually shilled here. Crypto is shite, when they even use any. Avoid.
It's spectacularly better than Telegram. According to recent work on the group chats, Signal's use of a 128-bit random GroupID makes it much harder to exploit a potential flaw just found.
That said, the group chat mode is going to be replaced, as a new proposal from the Facebook engineers working on the Signal protocol work in Facebook Messenger (not that anyone actually uses it there, but it is there as an option!) looks like a good step forward compared to Olm or OMEMO. Needs more review.
