well at least intel and microsoft patched the older cpu's and windows versions, meanwhile SHITSUNG LEAVES UNPROTECTED EVERY GALAXY PHONE BEFORE THE S6 AND EVERY NOTE BEFORE THE NOTE 5.
they don't even patch the S5 which is not even 4 years old since it's release, and a lot of them were still sold until 2016, fuck this shit company !
also the other phone brands listed here which will or will not receive a meltdown/spectre patch:
Why would I want them to watch me S5? It's already slow, I don't need it to be slower.
Matthew Rodriguez
A lot SoC low level aren't affect for M/S
Samuel Clark
>tfw weekly updated lineageOS yeah whatever you stock rom cucks
i bet you use gapps shitware as well lmao
Juan Young
Phone gets no update, motherboard gets no update, great. I updated my windows and firefox is there anything else I should be doing to prevent meltdown/spectre besides buying a new motherboard and cpu.
Jace Hill
>has an S5 >doesn't have LineageOS
Liam Sullivan
Nope you're absolutely fucked. Probably getting hacked right now just looking at this web page.
John Mitchell
What smartphones CPUs are affected by Meltdown/Spectre?
Lucas Lee
Maybe you should go "hack" some of that weight of
Liam Wood
enjoy losing your system to a random JS then
Aaron Thomas
>tfw weekly updated miui yeah whatever you custom rom cucks
Oliver Garcia
Not all mobile CPU's were affected by meltdown at least, i guess the snapdragon 801 and exynos from the galaxy S5 are safe so there is no need to be patched.
Bentley Martinez
enjoy your heart attack
Jordan Wright
>Tfw weekly chink datamining your privacy
Jackson Smith
Not getting into the NSA's hands then, is it?
Josiah Murphy
/thread >heart attack which is easily avoidable via proper dietary choices.. really don't see your point, you make it seem like what he said was wrong, but then provide an analogy as to why he's right.. fucking bait fuck u
Christian Ramirez
Krait 400 master race.
Elijah Butler
Two questions...
I thought meltdown only really affected intel?
Anyone know if Xperia Z2 is getting update?
Jeremiah Roberts
>tfw honor 8 JUST GIVE US OREO TOO IF YOU'RE PATCHING THIS ANYWAY. I JUST WANT TREBLE SUPPORT REEEEEEE.
Jose Price
>apple updating a phone from 2013 >nearest non-shit competitor only phones back to 2015
apple truly is our company
Kayden Adams
>LG G3: No But I already have it? How can this be?
Oh wait, stockcuck lmao.
Owen Smith
What will happen with the hundreds pajeet baked xda roms out there? I currently use an lg e970 as a mini tablet running 4.2 with custom kernel for screen calibration and other stuff, has worked great for nearly 4 years. As the only thing I regularly use and update is the browser I've had no problems.
Anthony Clark
>appletrash more than a year old >still functioning topkek
Jonathan Torres
meltdown affects the newest of the new ARM chips. those are only in phones that have not been released. everything else is just vulnerable to spectre 1,2 or both. the pajeet probably builds from lineage which already has the google patch in their sources so it's fine. the only people getting goatsed by this are stock rom retards and old applel device owners that don't update because applel slows their things down intentionally.
oh wait i just read >running 4.2 what the literal fuck are you doing?
Ryan Nelson
>what the literal fuck are you doing? My device did not get a lot of support. Sure currently there are 6.0 and even 7.0 roms for it built from Lineage or whatever succeeded CM, but none of the newer one have the patched kernel for the screen, if you ever used a stock Nexus 4 you know how awful and washed out the screen is. The e970 is basically a Nexus 4 with 4g and microsd card (main reason why I bought it instead of a Nexus 4). And because I have no use for all the newer features of android or can already get them with Xposed I saw no need to update. All I use it mostly for is for browsing the web (FF+uM/uBO make it really fast), listening music and watching chinese cartoons. I don't get a million apps all day because Yalp serves my needs fine. That's why.
If only the Nexus 7 or any other cheap tablet had a display capable of fine tuning calibration, microsd and at least 2gb of ram Id pick it.
Brayden Brooks
You should decide why you want to protect against them then decide IF you actually NEED to.
You can ignore patching and enjoy your toys but boot a live OS into RAM for banking, Ebay, Amazon etc and anything on the hard drive won't matter. It's odd that people who buy all sorts of hardware fail to think through operating system solutions. You can remaster Knoppix with its own tools and that's very easy to do.
Josiah Scott
Samsung stops pushing updates (even security ones) exactly 3 years after they make a phone.
Carson Murphy
>LG V30: yes
Source? LG doesn't update shit. If this is what it takes to get me Oreo though I'll take it.
Easton Phillips
>samsung A and J phones get updates BASED SAMSUNG
Mason Green
Is there any word on performance impact? Given what is does to iPhones according to , I think I'll be rejecting that patch on my S7 until I get some word on this.
I'd rather live with the vuln than take a 40% performance (and battery life) hit.
Gavin Thomas
I already have a custom kernel with the fix, but I'd rather have better performance.
Logan Gomez
Why would they patch the Galaxy A3, which uses Cortex A53 and thus isn't affected by either Meltdown or Spectre? Is this just their excuse to push changes that ruin performance and force people to upgrade?
Angel Flores
My 4 year old xiaomi phone will get this security patch lmao retards buying into the companies that update twice a year versus every week
John Price
I thought the problem was with intel cpus. WTF is happening?
Daniel Parker
The s5 never received an updste for KRACK exploit so it is not that much of a suprise.
Jayden Baker
It's literally any CPU with out of order execution. AMD is less affected because of the security measures that they implemented for cloud security, but they are still affected to some degree.
Asher Nguyen
>Huawei Mate 10 Pro What about the "regular" Mate 10?
Angel Taylor
Hardly any are affected by Meltdown.
Ryder Ross
Based fucking Huawei
Luke Parker
>Qualcomm >Secure hardware
pick one
Adam Sanders
Why people are worried? Just disable JavaScript and use common sense and open one tab at a time.
Kayden Bell
...
Joshua Gutierrez
this. for non enterprise targets, I fail to see much of a threat. Then again, I also don't keep a gorillion tabs open at all times, and then bitch when a major browser update occurs and I lose all my porn tabs from 1997 that I swear I was JUST about to watch.. filthy hoarders.
Michael Ortiz
mfw i own a shitty s3 mini thats not evenon the list anymore
Isaiah Jackson
4 years old phone >NOT EVEN 4 YEARS OLD
Nolan James

Isaac Long
>based moto Z play not included fucking hell
Robert Kelly
>android phones as new as 2015 and 2016 won’t receive the patch >2013 iPhone 5s will
Android is fucking pathetic.
Oliver Flores
All phones are affected by spectre to some extent.
Asher Torres
Is my Nexus 5 safe?
Luke Long
Was it released more than 3 years ago?
If so, no
Otherwise, yes.
Xavier Lee
So you’re telling me my Tab S2 which I bought in FUCKING 2017 isn’t supported?
Samsung is a joke. Never buying Samsung again
Hunter Lopez
Do we know anything about Sony? I have an XZ premium.
Wyatt Torres
I disable javascript on my phone. Is there still some client-side execution they can run roughshod on me with to exploit this bug?
Adam White
S3 not on the list. Yes, I win again.
Ryder Stewart
>not adblocking the exploit
Kevin Martin
>S5 doesn't get spectre patch >S5 and any other Snapdragon 801 phone isnt affected anyway since it uses Krait 400 cores Really made me think.
Brayden Rodriguez
Just use web browser with JS blocking.
Ethan Nelson
Wow, Android is a joke.
Xavier Jones
has anyone actually written a hack that works based on this theoretical exploit?
and don't say "it wouldn't be hard". if it's that easy, show us.
Robert Hall
android ecosystem is a joke, only buy something with good rom support.
Ryder Campbell
why would you use LOS if you are not going to update it?
William Reyes
Samsung note4 confirmed best phone ever once again.
Owen Powell
ill just wait till waterfox patches them like they did for desktop
Jace Gray
No, only out-of-order processors are affected. Cortex-A53 is in-order.
Christopher Robinson
So after all which mobile CPU's ARE NOT AFFECTED by meltdown/spectre? At least from the snapdragon ones which series are safe?
Kevin Parker
none
Adrian Wilson
>tfw phone not on list woo hoo
Jackson Jones
A5 2017 here
nice
Nicholas Edwards
I have an original iPhone, ten years old, that still powers on and functions. Granted, the battery is fucked, but on it's version of iOS, it runs just fine.
