I prefer the frequency response to be as neutral as possible, a good soundstage would be nice. I would also like headphones with a higher impedance to get more use out of my amp.

Bought the Tin Audio T2 for around 38€. Are there any better alternatives for that price? And also thinking about buying a DAP around 130€ so which ones are good?

ME BUY DA SENHEZE

nice meme, which headphones do you own?

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUHM HAY DEE UHHHHHHHH SIS HUNNID

I've tried M50's and 650s but they're both very uncomfortable to wear with glasses. Any suggestions?

Someone here suggested takstar pro 82, I bought one and i'm waiting for it to come

He said was VERY comfy

598's bro, comfy as fuck with and without glasses

let's finish the other /HPG/ before starting a new one:

shit thread, no results when searching hpg in the catalog

600/650's tend to be clampy out of the box. Either you let the pads break in or if you're impatient, you bend the metal adjusters to your prefered length. For a demonstration of the metal bending, search '6XX PSA' on youtube since I'm too lazy to link that shit.

>just

>all that top of the line audio hardware
>bottlenecks it with a shitty apple computer

how is that a bottleneck?

Itunes mainly stores in lossy CBR compression, no?

dude cracks me up desu. i enjoyed his powdered alcohol video and his slave app video where people bring him weed and pizza and all sorts of shit through that app

check out hifiman he-400i if you are into EDM

KZ ZX6 IEMs arrived today.

Colour me impressed. Lovely build and packaging. They need to break in slight crusty edge to the midrange 'treble' for now.

I have had some really pretty good headphones and these are still clearly well up there. Really bloody loud with a decent DAC/amp which is a nice surprise. A but too big but you certainly get the sound quality.

8.9/10 rising to 9.5 if the sound improves as I expect it will.

Do you guys rec headsets? There only seem to shitty cheap chinky ones or gaudy ass gaming ones with very little in between.

Is Sabaj DA1 neutral?

anyone know here where to buy m40x or any other good $100 over the ear headphones here in philippines. I only know lazada but it's really overpriced

AKG k712 pro has pretty good memory foam pads

Should I get closed headphones for when traveling or when I shouldnt make noise at night for like 100-150 euro + speakers like 200-250 euro or just get more expensive closed headphones like 400 euro and use them at all times?
can more expensive headphones reach cheaper speaker level? when if yes?

uh yes

Okay, my amp is coming later today. I will let you guys know how it sounds. It's advertised as a "class a" amp whatever that means.

brand & model?

will post pics later today didn't really check what model, just saw that he was advertising it for close to 70% off so I bought it its called "labs" or something

nice bottleneck meme

i read somewhere that speakers always sound better cause theyre well bigger
at which price-point do headphones sound better?
like are there headphones in the 400 price range that sound better than 200 speakers like jbl lsr 305

It's for a gift, they just need to be good for the money.

Schiit Jotunheim, Fostex HP-A4BL, or reccomend me o e for my LCD-4

An amp

just bought these after like 30 minutes of research. did i make a mistake

You could have done much, much worse.
So probably not.

nice

They're good for the money. You did fine

phew

For the O2 amp paired with HD650s, is it better to get Standard gain (2.5x-6.5x) or the Medium (1x-3.3x)?

idk lol

I'd go with the medium gain. Mostly because 6.5x is deafening, and 1x and 3.3x do seem actually useful knob range wise.

Need to replace my 880 headband. Should I get the stock softskin one or leather?

stock

Where did the anime girls go?!

Is AKG pretty much done with the highend headphone game? K712 is still one of my favorites but I haven't seen much new from them after the K812.

do you really miss them

Yes. Beats looking at a audiophile having his first eargasm.

Are you listening to music at a park?

yeah it's the only place i can achieve an erection nowadays :(

Hey aqualung

w h o

Has anyone tried any of AKG's new K52/K72/K92 budget set? What HiFi has very favorable reviews of them.

sitting on the park bench

Nah let's keep this one, which is actually titled properly. Delete that shit thread dividing the poster pool in two.

Do you eye little girls with bad intent?

xDDDD

Bump

What is a good dac/amp for my akg-k612's? I was thinking about the monoprice amp or the fx dacx6 but if it's worth it ill buy something more expansive

I hear to a lot of bass music by the way

dac-x6 measures like complete garbage according to reviewer on head-fi.
It's probably better to get proper amp, like objective2 or something by lake people if you feel like dropping significantly more on premium end game amp.

I see. Thanks for the reply.

>objective2
Which one do you mean?
amazon.com/Objective2-Headphone-Amplifier-JDS-LABS/dp/B00E0DMCO0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1515691345&sr=8-1&keywords=objective2

I guess you mean the latter but I gotta make sure lol

Sennheiser HD380 or ATH M40x?

The HD380 look nicer to me, but the modular cable thats included is not good for portable use.

It depends. First one is dac/amp combo, second one is only amplifier. Depends on what you need, but I was referring to amp. I actually recommend getting objective2 from massdrop if they still have it on drop, it's desktop version meaning it has 6,3 jack out, and rear RCA input and power input.
Desktop version from JDS Labs is significantly more expensive than from massdrop.

Unfortunately I live in Mexico and last time I checked massdrop doesnt ship here.

21 MINUTES LEFT

God dammit shit never appears on mass drop when I have money

would using an smsl m3 as just a dac clip magni 3?

Seriously, this is so frustrating. It ships to fucking mauritus but not Mexico.
Anyways since the shipping is 30$ I may as well get the most out of it, so I'm going to buy the amp and a dac.
Is ol dac + objective 2 good or am I better off just buying objective 2+odac? (the latter is a single unit, the first ones aren't). Apparently ol dac is better than odac but I don't know.

I want some good noise cancelling headphones and I don't care about music quality.
1. Earbuds or over-ear?
2. Please recommend me ones capable of blocking the ape noises at my office.

Are STAX 'earspeakers' cheap in Japan? And are they hard to setup (amping, transformers, ect)?

>Are STAX 'earspeakers' cheap in Japan?
Used ones can be found for "cheap". New they are the same as you would order in the US.
>And are they hard to setup (amping, transformers, ect)?
Never used em.

What does clipping sound like?

It's like a crazy amount of distortion but in spikes.

But you can tell when it happens while listening to music, right?

Usually.

Thanks friend

OL DAC is better and cheaper than the ODAC, I wouldnt bother getting the ODAC even if the single unit is cleaner looking

medium gain is best if you pair it with a DAC

Bumping this question. I'm also interested in knowing what are the current low cost DAPs that are worth buying.

I got BGVP SGZ-DN1 for 20€ so far liked them, i heard T2 is a bass cannon

What triggers me most is all the damn cables so close to the mouse, fuck not having at least 30x30cm of free space for the mouse.

Why'd you have to point that out? Now it's bothering me too.

HOW DO I HOOK UP MY HEADPHONES TO THIS
HOW DO I TURN UP VOLUME
WHAT IS THIS SHIT??? THERES LITERALLY NO WAY FOR ME TO GET IT HOOKED UP THERES ONLY BALANCED/SINGLE ENDED HOOKUPS ON THE BACK, NO VOLUME POT JUST SOME STUPID SWITCH ON THE FRONT THAT DOESNT DO ANYTHING WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY IT WAS ADVERTISED AN AMP AND ICANT EVEN USE IT??? im leaving the seller negative feedback what a troll selling me useless shit

What headphones would you recommed for someone with a huge head? I've tried a couple of of Superlux headphones and both of them have been too small for my fat head.

I don't really care about the sound quality, I just want a comfortable pair of headphones.

I was always wondering, ive got myself these

How good of a deal are the HD 55 for 50 dollars?

>get akg k712 pro
>they sound better and are cheaper than hd600
/hpg/ BTFO

I want to get something as pretty as the thx00 in europe. Max around 400 euro should be closed back. Idk I just really like the thx00 look them thick pads and that wood mmm but I cant get em here thered be customs tax and shipping just not worth it desu

how big is your melon bro

i also wanna know this

samefag

fuck off

nah
And even if i was samefagging, so what? Who gives a shit?

Any recommendations for a clamp-on headphone hanger?

I'm looking at this a.co/6juLAZq but it's a little pricey. I want something with a curved surface and a lip on the end to keep them from sliding off.
