How you feel about motherboards with a cover?
How you feel about motherboards with a cover?
Looks like something out of star wars
pretty
it's not like you're capable of replacing a transistor anyways or would want to resolder it
it’s pretty nice
Meme
they should come off quite easily, just a few screws on the back for the most part I think
With make me worry less about ESD, but what about the CMOS battery?
I dont care if VRM etc temps are good, if its just plastic dumped on there at the expense of heatsinks then it's disgusting
It's good to keep dust out and cooling the system.
Personally I'd like to check my caps in a while. Especially when they are covered because a small increase in temperature degrades them even faster.
It has a clear cmos button, and you can remove the cover i bet.
It is not like CMOS batteries go bad all the time.
Will this void warranty?
It's metal, but it still makes temps worse.
don't care as long as they don't fuck up board temps
The board features a built-in digital fan controller, integrated RGB lighting channels, an all-metal cover available in either black or white, and an on-board noise sensor that can help calibrate fan speeds and cooling pumps for a quieter PC.
it's supposedly a heatsink, and not plastic.
I think it's meme territory... and I highly douby anyone is over clocking to an extreme degree where this would be useful.
Looks nice, especially this design.
If you live in australia, that mobo would come in handy.
fuck off shill
looks nice desu
would definitly buy one if was available in mATX format
it shouldn’t, I have the sabertooth z77 and it shows you in the manual how to remove the plastic so you can run it uncovered
>How you feel about motherboards with a cover?
Why? So I can stick it in a glass box meme case and not have drive and other bays?
>How you feel about motherboards with a cover?
I don't mind them as long as the board is decent. Image is an example of dressing up a cheap board
to make it look like it was worth charging more for though.
Comfy and easy to get dust off I guess.
Merits if the cover also act as a heatsink and I can clean dust on the cover without turning the computer off.
ESD is not something you have to worry about this past decade.
Motherboards are far less sensitive to electrical shock than they have been in the olden days. Layers upon layers of protection built in. You can practically build on carpet with fuzzy slippers. All the wrist bands and what meme grounding is redundant legacy-related practices.
idk. but i hope that (probably shitty) motherboard sets an aesthetic precedent
Oh yeah, put a cover on a peice of electronics that runs hot. Restrict the airflow so it runs even hotter. Makes sense, a yup.
Fucking millenials
I like it
Mine die all the time
Well to be fair, i had been using the same pc built 12 years ago, I lost track of everything tech related.
If your CMOS battery is actually "dying all the time" I'd start blaming the board itself.
At first I thought this shit was trolling. But there are gen z out there that think this is nice looking.
>Mine die all the time
Then something is explicitly wrong with your computer. A cmos battery should last 2-5 years worth of powered off time, realistically 5-10 years
I am against builds where you can see inside the pc since it detracts from the screen which is what you are meant to be watching.
Possible exception nice water-cooling or systems that are just meant to look pretty on a desk.
>since it detracts from the screen which is what you are meant to be watching.
How fucking adhd are you?
I prefer the appearance of exposed electronic components.
I like them. For all the memeing about heat insulation, my Asus TUF Z270 MK I stays frosty but the best part is no dust gets caked on the pcb.
It would be extremely painful
>NZXT shills sweating increases
...
I'm a big guy
Same way i feel backs cars thay do this. Hard to service and prone to fires
No
Dam it, william.
WANT. (please be for AMD).
Takes like 10 seconds to remove a cover
>prone to fire
LOL wut?
Stupid waste of money and offers nothing more than an insulator for heat on the components underneath said covers.
I remember when motherboards only had enough to be functional. Non RGB, non cancerous GAYMER branded heatsinks on the VRM's and northbridge. The only thing good that came from gaming gear is black PCB's. Green is hideous. Pic related, my last non cancer board. Gone now though.
Niqab-tech.
This might actually make me put my 2600k in for pasture.
Nothing new though!
Looks utterly retarded and detrimental to heat dissipation
i want this cover meme to take off
must get awfully hot
>plastic covers
At least a PCB doesn't look like a childrens' toy
Matte black PCB is best though.
Any board with invisible pcb, that is either green or mustard is for manchildren and gaymers. Also known as scum.
It's steel and aluminum I think. Big steel plate and smaller ones are aluminum
I'm over 30 and I think it looks nice, objectively clean, symmetrical, well shaped cooling fans. It's still a piece of shit, just because Apple is shit you don't have to pretend like you hate their design, because it's sleek no matter how much of an autistic contrarian you are.
It's a meme to make you buy more products. Is it innovation? Doesn't that make heat a problem, motherboard doesn't only get hot from the CPU you know..
I think it looks nice and clean. Also guess it's not bad to cover some more delicate parts if you're super clumsy while installing or smth. But don't these things have some heat issues?
looks good as long as its not plastic. but i think it will help a little bit on shielding the caps and other mobo components from gpu/cpu heat.
if you are talking about nzxt making motherboards, i wouldnt buy it. i would get their cooler and case but not mobo
Really and Actually looks futuristic.
> in a world where computer components are just several black boxes that hook to each other
> conserve space by multiplying the amount of circuitry stacked on top of one another rather than placing everything on a single flat board
This too, green is mean. Im partial to Blue or Red for circuit boards though.
However Brown is worse than green but has a retro flair, reminds me of shit id find in tvs back in the 80s.
aye that is a problem, which is why it should have radiator grille in some form or another
> or built in liquid cooling that runs under the panel
>several black boxes that hook to achieve other
>they're both figuratively and literally black boxes
Yeah. Very futuristic. It's like blade runner.
why do you look your MB for?
Don't tell me you are one of thoses fags with his case on his desk and with a window on it.
Does it help dissipate heat would be about the only question that matters.
If its not in direct contact with the heating components its supposed to dissipate, its shit. I'd wager that this makes a hot air sandwich and probably even has the opposite the effect it wishes to accomplish.
If you want to be a MAN, you must use closed cases with bare everything, fuck /fa/ fags.
its metal on top of plastic. its for looks no way that helps for temps. however it is one of the least ricey looking mobo but im sure it will cost just as much unfortunately
it's fucking stupid.
