It's programming for wizards
It's insanely powerful for certain usecases. Don't learn it if you just want to make webapps.
Can you elaborate? I'd like to learn program but have no interest in webapps.
There is some interesting web frameworks for the various lisps, there is even lisps that compile to JS.

It's a pain in the ass to learn, you will never get used to the notation, and there are no good learning material. Also it's ridiculously out of date. Learn something useful like python or julia. If you still want to learn it, learn Racket or Clojure. Also, best way to learn a language is to pick something you want to do and then implement it using that language.
Hey lil' toady.
Lisp's aren't attractive.
Checkout GNU/GuixSD or Guix the package manager (works on any distro)
and learn Guile without even being aware!
Only soyboys make webapps.
But what makes lisp different from, say, java?
Get this: pragprog.com
Pick a language.
Then do the exercises in that language.
You'll learn really quickly.
meanwhile ClojureScript is the second most popular compile-to-javascript language.
the best Japanese translation dictionary is in clisp
