I’m thinking about covering the area behind the monitors with these
www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10365419/?preferedui=desktop
Opinions?

>tfw Windows users need multiple monitors because their operating system's window management facilities are just so bad

nice try you freefag

we all know multiple monitors is purely aesthetic that serves no functionality

Post wallpapers pls

Actually i use all 4 most of the time
The center for gaming
The right for looking up game info
the left for temp gauges and discord and the top for vid playback
:P

...

...

the last wallpaper is wallpaper engine vid wallpaper

windows has workspaces you know

first time i've seen a build in that little vertical case. I think the form factor is really interesting but i'm not a big fan of the tempered glass meme

for factor is cramped and annoying

It doesn't gave proper tiling, though.

>pressing key commands like it's 1995
>using a second monitor to multitask
goodness gracious, Linux users really are retarded

I threw this together a few months back. Still can't believe I own this.
>t. reformed neet

I see plenty linux users with multiple monitors you silly goose.

Someone in the old thread asked what the speakers are, so I guess I'll write it here as the thread got archived. The model is Poмaнтикa 10AC-207. They are nearly 30 years old, yet they sound better than new speakers for 20 times their price.

in what way?

What's that desk bro?

not when they're 5 feet above your head, too close together and pointing straight out into the room

just a really small case. literally hurts your fingers trying to squeeze in there to get that perfect cable management, also had to do some cutting to fit my specific cooler in right. its nice now its all together but i swear to god at first it didn't even seem possible. had to really jam the PSU in and was almost 100% convinced it was somehow a few mm too long

It's an Ikea countertop: (ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70335212/#/50335208). I used black sch. 40 pipes for the legs attached to the bottom with flanges and used a reducer for the 'feet' so it wouldn't mess up my floor. About $200 depending on how cheep you can the leg materials.

how stable is it? im considering a similar setup for my triple monitor setup, but im concerned that it wobbles like a motherfucker

yeah that isn't good, you shouldn't have to cut shit to make it fit when the case is supposed to be designed for it. I wonder if the taller version has more room in it. too bad, I thought the slim vertical profile looked neat

I went with 30"x1/2" pipe for the legs which I think has a big mistake. There's not an obscene amount of movement (maybe 1/4" off centerline left or right) but it's enough to be annoying. I can't decide if I want to redo it with either 26"x1" (or maybe more) legs or if I want to throw a tee in the middle of the back legs and run a lateral support.

Damn. I have an IKEA desk that I hate because it fucking wobbles too much.

taller version is way too tall unless you are doing full custom loop.

and nah the case is amazing quality my cooler just had some unusual parts on it that most dont.
quality of the case is top tier but don't buy if you don't have patience

>implying cutting stuff is bad
cman Sup Forums

I know you are right, but I am not allowed to drill any more holes in the walls as I am renting the flat. I'll probably arrange them differently when I move out.

which desk do you have?

Ikea Bekant (Black) it's already falling apart

What do you do to your desks? I've had a Galant with T-legs (Bekant's predecessor) and it's still in great condition after almost a decade.

Feels to me like the monitors are maybe a little too close ? It's a bit a oppressing

Comfy, nice monitor and your case is interesting

Very comfy user

Idk the desk just wobbles it's annoying.

Hellooooo

Yeah, so I decided to run it though a quick FEA (because I'm too lazy to do it by hand) like I should have in the first place. I'm using a "no slip"ish condition where the legs are pinned to restrict lateral movement but not support any bending which is observable when I wiggle my desk. I measured my leaning weight and added a 1.2 dynamic amplification factor and rounded up for good measure and arbitrarily placed the 50 lb load in arbitrarily near the middle. Surprisingly I got exactly what I eyeballed earlier without fudging any numbers so I think this run is validated. Give me a minute and I'll tell you what size leg you need for minimal wobble.

That sag finally fixed?

basws, could you test a setup like this as well (nice station btw)

The sag was like 2 desks ago now, love this solid wood!

I wouldn't, dusting would be a nightmare and it would throw off the clean look you've got.

That thing is huge. I like it.

This kinda makes feel a little claustrophobic

Simple yet elegant

1" Sch.40 gives you .1" displacement. That would still be noticeable for sure. Moving up to 1 1/2" reduces it to 0.013". Pretty solid, I don't think you'd notice it.
Moving up to 2" gives 0.006" displacement, which I would classify as not worth the extra weight and money. Unless you get triggered by the slightest movement, 0.013" is my recommendation and what I'll likely do sometime in the future.

Also, if you look at the bending pattern a lateral brace would not be effective for how much it would cost. Cross bracing would be a better alternative You could put an eye into the bottom of the table at each leg and make an X pattern to apply sort of a pre load. If done right it might look okay, but it would probably look shitty.

What are you trying to test, specifically?

I didn't think about the dust. A can of air might work. It probably looks better in my head and would turn out tacky though. I want to copy the aesthetic of the one user's room with the embedded timelapse in his setup picture with the fish tank and high altitude helmet.

could you elaborate cause im retarded. Are you saying 1" 1/2" as in leg diameter are best in terms of stability?

Yeah sorry I mistyped at the end. A 2" leg is twice as stable, but we're talking about moving 0.013" with a 1 1/2" leg vs 0.006" with a 2" leg. I think it's fair to say that difference is indistinguishable. However, the extra cost and weight of the 2" leg is noticeable, definitely diminishing returns. So, in my opinion the right choice is a 1 1/2" leg.

I also just realized I did everything at 30" leg length. I didn't run it at 26" like I was thinking about earlier. If you go down to 26" any diameter you choose will move less than what I simulated. My recommendation still stands though.

awesome, thanks for the work

It seems like you've got a big enough desk, why don't you get one or two small potted plants that are low maintenance or build a terrarium. I think it would compliment your setup better then a wall full of fake leaves.

No problem, that'll be $10,000
I like the terrarium idea a lot. Or maybe a bonsai tree.

Bonsai tree would work, less is more for a nicer area. I had a bunch of crap set up that I thought was cool and it just overall made it look like shit.

Looks slick, where is the light coming from? Is it angled and coming from under the desk? On the screens?

Back in bussiness, will rate everyone, hate/rate me.
Looks comfy AF, little messy, but I like it like that. Also love your Haruhi poster :3
9/10
Comfy, gives of a bit of a hipstery feel, but it seems to be functional, and looks nice overall. What case is that tho.
8.5/10
LED/10, looks comfy as well, is your desktop underneath the desk?
8/10
RGB/10, looks comfy, just a bit 2 gamery for me. Nice desk tho. 8/10
Did this one 3 times already and never got a response ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
Comfy AF, but the monitor angles feel a little weird. 9/10
Productivity/10, not a fan of Macs, but whatever works for you, keeping a clean desk helps with concentration (I use this tip at school and at the library).
Nyeeee, looks nice, just not my type, more for Reddit. 8.5/10
Looks really comfy, just seems a bit to gamery for me. 8.5/10

Gonna get a lot of hate but I'm ready for it.

My desk, used to play only normiewatch on it, but it'ś getting boring so waiting for a new drive for my x230 to play some MMO's on the go as my 128gb is already full.
x230 is running mint for anyone interested, might try Manjaro again soon.

Any tips on making my station look better?

HE FIXED THE SAG

oof

im going to the hardware store to get sum led strips.
gotta have mood lighting for my hentai

WHy not get some moodlights from the chinks, gets me in the mood for getting the game on with my daki's.

remove all notions of anime and get a new chair

get rid of the faggot keyboard

First time poster, left screen doesn't have vesa so I can't mount it. I am also planning on building a desk when summer rolls around.
Can post close ups of something if you guys want...

Aren't those drawers awful to open?

Clean up the freaking orange peels and crap of your table and get a trashcan.

Small table but it works

What the fuck is up with all those post-its

test

First setup in a new house. Any tips?

it works, i have lights!

Anyone else too ashamed of their dirty room to post a picture?
I keep my desk and PC pristine but the wall behind it is covered in cobwebs and peeling paint.

3 sets of 6 post-its to the left is all math formulas.
Then I have a page which is for stuff due this week, one for longer tasks, one is for test dates.

My poor excuse for trying to be organized...

Microphone arm maybe. They are very convenient and they fit those Snowball Dildos, just not "officially".

Meh.

Works for me.

Looks dope, better than waiting for the chinks to ship it.
Post entire setup :3

Idk dude, I don't really pay attention to the feel of a drawer when I open them lmao

I'm interested, pls post pics!

My desk is only a half inch thick. How can I fix cables/power strip to the bottom? Is 30lb double-sided tape enough when including the cables pulling at the strip?

maybe this video works.
nice colors but i like purple.

Looks dope, you should post this on Reddit for internet fame.

He already did post it on reddit

get a job

...

The strip is on the underside of the monitor. I wanted it to be able to function like a lamp

...

Weebs when will they learn

Is it wood or glass? Put some screws in to mount the power bar and screw some clips in so you have something to mount to if you can't get ties around your desk legs.

Better yet, show us what your desk looks like.

Books everywhere, standing mode engaged.

you 12?

wat

>Did this one 3 times already and never got a response ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
sorry user

what brand are they? they look sweet!

When's this last time you gave your battle station a good cleaning /bst/?

Haven't posted in a while... Made minor changes.

You seem like a respectable man. What guns do you have?

>those metro books
Nice taste user. What AK model do you have?

Your sense of scale may be off a bit. Those are 27'' monitors for reference.

No guns ;w;
>tfw cuckistan inhabitant

New setup. A work in progress.

nice and clean now :)

/bst/ - I still need to replace my failing file storage HDD edition.

It's half inch oak plywood. I just worry that I won't get enough purchase with a quarter inch screw, though I suppose it'd be better than any adhesive solution.
