I'm using it right now.

It has no reason to die.

it just werkz

just fucking works. stop shilling dvorak-tier memes

y

I would never fall for the HDMI jew or similar crap for that matter.
My VGA 16:10 gold ratio VA2016w will not be replaced.

Practically all the server hardware in production has VGA output .... I don't see that changing anytime soon either.

>screen suddenly turns pink

I think it's ridiculous how a lot of modern monitors have this but not DVI.

>brand new z370 mobo
>still have vga port on back
>i am using it because i dont have a dvi to dp adaptor

gtx 1050ti > hdmi > Panasonic amplifier > 7.1 surround for movies 'n' games

it's comfy

>1k computer
>NO VGA OUTPUT

...

When the last video standard that doesn't support HDCP dies, it will be a sad day.

Intel and nvidia plan on killing it off I think

Honestly I still wish s-video was standard

DVI > VGA

Displayport > DVI

>$50k car
>NO CASSETTE DECK

absolute bullshit because no devices

Dp > dvi > hdmi > vga

name a comfier connector

#metoo

1/4" audio jack

Does it click when you plug it? Then it's comfy

i'm using it right now too.
i'm not gonna replace the monitor until it isn't broken. my gpu is still capable with the adapter.
triggered fagit

13w3

Does it twist AND click? That's more comfy.

I specifically got Asrock Z270 Pro4 because it has VGA output and USB type C.
And because it was the cheapest. Yeah, now that I think about it that was the deciding factor.

Just fucking works mate thats why it stuck around.
I only have 4 HDMI displays and they all given me bad handshakes at some point in time and flat refuse to work or audio wont be detected.

It's a fact, no connection feels better than a bayonet style connection.

*Notices your Sun workstation*
13w3? What's this?!

Outlived even this

>GPU comes with DVI-D ONE HDMI and 3 DisplayPort
>buys 3 monitors
>they all come with only HDMI and D-SUB.

I fucking hate my country, other countries with the same display model comes with DVI-D connection.

You do know HDMI is literally a single link DVI-D with a different connector and (((HDCP))), right?

No it didn't.
HDB15 has been around since 1987.
TRS has been around ~1890...

If VGA is still in common use in 2116, then it will have outlived TRS.

Yes, but they continued developing the standard where the DVI working group disbanded.

HDMI might only be single-link (4 lanes) but it does 1200mhz now... where DVI was limited to 165mhz...

Been rocking two samsung old as fuck dvi monitors to this day, shit is almost 11 years old now and I will only move on if gpus stop having that port.

My 1070ti still does so I give no fucks.

He was complaining about having HDMI instead of DVI-D, though.

>$100,000 car
>no AM radio

>Outlived
yeah... no.

well I totally didn't read that at all.
which I probably should.

That one I would legitimately be surprised. All cars still have AM/FM

BMW's with the touchscreen shit don't have AM radio

>I know all cars

>>Twist and click
My nigga

>dvorak
never thought I'd hear about him again

I swear, if I were rich I'd buy every single variety of LEMO connector ever. Male and female. And I'd spend the rest of my life plugging and unplugging them.

You should make a fidget cube of sorts but with connectors instead

>I will only move on if gpus stop having that port.
You can just get a cheap $8 DP to DVI converter, that's what I use.

I'm using a VGA to BNC cable right now to connect to my 16:10 CRT.
Can I get any comfier ?

Having a Sun branded Trinitron with 13w3 maybe?

You could be using it with a mini-VGA adapter. It might be a proprietary as shit connector, but damn is it comfy.

God tier idea.. just might make one myself. Too bad all the good milspec connectors are >$100

>HDCP
Hardcore cheese pizza?

"High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection", a DRM technology that makes it possible for videos to remain encrypted all the way from distribution to the display. Ie, you can't even screenshot the media or extract images from the recorded display signal.

Jesus, do car come with USB these days? I don't even have CD player in mine.

Is DVI really better than VGA or is it a meme? I used VGA for years without realizing I had a DVI port in the back of my monitor and when I finally got around to buying and using a VGA port, I didn't notice any immediate differences.

All the projectors at my uni use this shit. Since nobodies computer has a VGA port anymore, they bought HDMI dongles for every single one.

DVI can do higher resolutions and is digital

It's all bluetooth, which is absolute dogshite for long journeys.

>use HDMI
>flimsy trash
>use USB C
>flimsy trash
>use DisplyPort
>somewhat durable
>use VGA
>rock fucking solid
Technology is regressing.

Yeah, I found out about the higher resolutions sometime after I started using it. That was about the only thing I noticed.

How is his friend Leo Laporte doing nowadays? Last I heard of him he flashed his wife's nudes on stream or something.

>USB C
>flimsy trash
USB-C is the first generic connector for over a decade that fails on the plug side before it fails on the receptacle.
Even if the cables break after 12 months, I'd rather replace a bunch of $5 cables than motherboards, monitors, smartphones etc.

USB C is flimsy trash? Since when?

...Unless you bought out of spec "Bangtao" brand connectors from Amazon, then you got what you deserved

usb will replace everything

One of the best bst's I seen on Sup Forums so far. Mature and exquisite taste.

dvi is also similar quality

who /hdmi master race/ here?

indeed, with a good quality cable you'd be hard pressed to notice any difference on 1080P resolution.

or HDMI to DVI. Probably cheaper

Can't wait for USB C to take over video too.

>name a comfier connector
S-video

>(((HDCP))),
nice thing is you can buy chink capture cards that will capture from HDCP encrypted content lol

...

It's simple and it just works. If you need HDR or high resolutions or high framerates, you need a digital connector, but if you just need a display (e.g. for a server or something like that) VGA is GOAT.

this, VGA never fails, even shitty cables with damage like broken pin will display, some with offset or weird colouring, but it werkz because it is analog. With HDMI one tiny damages area and like improper shielding the whole thing fucks up.

Bought one last week for my old xbox 360.

heh

heh, that does not have a VGA connector

3.5 is not dead tho'

Why dvorak when there is colemak ?

It does.

wow never seen that cable before

My old 42 inch Wega rear-projection tvs lamp kicked the bucket, so I'll use my monitor for now.

VGA is still fine for most things.

My 2014 mazda came with a usb input and aux as well as bt

*blocks ur path*

Well, that's a bummer.

Because HDMI/DVI, DP/DVI and VGA/DVI-I adapters are all straightforward and easy, while HDMI/VGA and DP/VGA aren't.
So a VGA input is needed for compatibility purposes, while DVI can be covered with adapters.

fuckin bent pins.
a circular connector that has to be inserted in a certain way.
fuck off

RCA audio cables
There is just something about using RCA cables to patch the rear of your stereo system that can be made from a tower of tape decks, EQs, preamps from all different brands and work fine all together

it was sexting, also he flashed his dick pic once, he also made an apparently racist joke about his friends biracial newborn and had Brianna Wu on his show.

There's this bizarre website that's been ran forever, leolaportesucks.com/

this.
it just slides right in.
symmetrical.
1080p (using 3 rca cables)
5.1ch audio(using a single cable)
not bad for a connector that was designed in the 1940s.

also this site totaldrama.net/ which has been hate-writing about Leo for like a decade now or something.

twit.tv/shows/the-tech-guy

I still use composite cables hooked up to a TV.

DVI can be digital but it can also be analog depending on which version you have. I think most graphics cards are DVI-I which has both analog and digital signals but most devices are digital anyway so the analog is basically only used to support VGA through DVI-A->VGA adapters.

>uses bluetooth
>none of those '''durability''' issues
Clearly that means that bluetooth is the future
