I am about to buy an ultrabook for $1500. Is the Macbook Pro the best I can get?

I'd put a little more towards a Let's Note CF-RZ6

Unavailable in white countries.

system32

False, you just need a middleman

xps13

The nineties called, they want their laptop back

toohard4me

Speaking of Japanese notebooks, the Toshiba Portege 20w seems interesting.

I'm sorry you have shit taste

Personally with that kind of budget I would buy a Zenbook or XPS15/13

Just bought a x20w

Hope it doesn't suck

honestly what the fuck is that gay shit

looks like shit you find in some fucking makeup store

>what the fuck is that
An awesome subnotebook. Only thing wrong with it is a 180ยบ hinge instead of a swivel hinge.

either macbook pro or dell xps 13, these two are at the top of the game right now

>macbook

>apple is bad i read so on imageboards

What is that blue port on the side with all the holes in it?

...

>Is the Macbook Pro the best I can get?
Yes. I hear the ones without the touchbar have better battery life and the base model is less than $1500. You will get a unix like os and if you'd really need windows, you could just dualboot.

Don't let the poor people of this board scam you into buying a thinkpad/lattitude. They just want to justify their $150 purchases.

>obscure memebook

>Ultrabook

Why? What's the use case for these? Impressing your fellow consumerist type nerds while normies look on in disgust and wonder why you don't just use a phone to check your email?

>I haven't heard about it so it's a le ebin maymay

If you have a workstation go for the macbook air. I have a pro and don't use it's full potential. I use it mostly for remoting into Linux servers and workstations where most of the workloads happen.

The MacBook is a great client for web, emal, ssh, siri and all that other shit. I take it everywhere I don't have to worry about running out of battery. None the less, it has way more processing power and all that other bullshit that I don't really need in a client machine, thus go for the air as it's lighter.

light, slim, long battery life

the air has a shit display, though

>why would you want a laptop
Sup Forums is getting dumber by the day.

Just correcting myself........ go for the MacBook - fucking apple and all their renaming & rebranding shit.

develop in the cloud nigger/pajeet

thanks for the advice.
a 12 inch screen is a bit too small for me and i heard that the 13 and 15 models have great(er) speakers

not him, but go for the 13. I hear it's what most people get.

I have the 13" pro and to be honest it's not really that much weight to carry in EastPak all day. Again I just don't use the full potential of the quad core and 8 gig memory.

with or without touchbar?
hows the battery life?

Reminder to report this iToddler shill for spamming and ban evasion.

Don't have the touch bar. I have the 2015 or 2016 model.

And battery life is great, 10 hours I guess depending on what you're doing. I can use it a whole work day without needing to charge it(unlike iphone 6 that apple purposefully borked).

Go to Japan just once. These laptops are everywhere from colleges to businesses alongside ThinkPads, MacBooks and surprisingly a lot of Latitudes.

That's a strange way to spell worst.

>meltdown/spectre
>new laptop
pick none

I have a MacBook air (2013) and while i do love it, i do find myself bouncing off its limitations from time to time, but while screen isn't the best at least to me it only looks bad when using it alongside another device.

I was thinking of "saving" money and attempting to upgrade (logic board, SSD) but holy shit, people are wanting $800 for a used logic board, you might as well get a whole new machine.

It's not a port retard, it's the air vent.

Hmm, that render test was performed under mac OS, for fair conditions they should have used Windows on it at the very least.

Because holy shit, Mac OS has shitty optimisation.

the dell xps 13 has been updated yet again

How do you get one for real though, with US keyboard

Back to >>/csg/

XPS 13 is falling behind a little - it either needs a Ryzen Mobile or MX150 to remain a competitive option.

>Japanese laptop
>chink shit general
What?

There is no US model, you use an import service to get the Japanese one.

I'm digging the bronze look.

>ultrabook + Ryzen
where

>ultrabook

Doesn't matter what you buy, they are all shit.

AMD still has the cash to pay all these shills?

Theres a reason every decent device runs an Intel.

I am looking at maybe grabbing a zenbook flip or a spectre 360 but torn between the two. The spectre has a 4k screen and seems like a more solid choice.

1500$ doesn't get you the 15" model.

I find myself looking at the MacBook since... honestly it's all i need in practical terms. But at the back of my mind i find myself thinking "what if i want to do more"

It's a VGA port, for an old external monitor. No one uses it any more

wat..

Eh, the best thing about that image is they are saying buy a laptop that wasn't even tested. They literally picked a random laptop and made it imply that it is better

Get any laptop without an Intel CPU.

a friend of mine sold me his macbook pro 2017 for $900, should i buy?

Grab the 13" Pro without the stupid touch-bar

Apple laptops constantly overheat and thermal throttle due to very poor cooling solutions due to being too thin. Get an xps 15 if you're serious about getting a the best ultrabook.

If portability is that important to you then a surface pro 4 is a better buy.

Don't listen to this uninformed idiot

japanese stuff isn't chink shit, japan actually has pretty fucking solid build quality and isn't just a ploy to take over the world by communism

Thank you, Pradeep. Your iTunes gift card is in the mail.

It's true though, why do you think only 5% of laptops are macs? Hell half of computers with mac os used to be windows pc. Apple hardware is just that bad.

...

The hardware itself is less of the issue.

More apples price point for what you get teamed with the implementation.

Many other brands out their do better ultrabooks in every sense.

Are we really going to pretend US is a first world country right now?
