So I've gathered around.. 10k photos/gifs in the last year, that I wanna organize into folders. How does Sup Forums organize their folders of shit? Currently I have a mock set up but it's not as easy to find specific photos as I'd like.
Picture is the current state of photos. No tagging or names for the photos.
Images for me are hard because there are so many images can serve different purposes depending on the context. I still haven't come up with a good filing system for images.
Henry King
This is 5Gb worth of stuff. I have 1Mb/s up. Would take too long
Blake Ramirez
yeah i have been looking for a good tag database for images or something.
Ryan Diaz
i feel you dogg, ty anyway
Nicholas Thompson
took out some of the folders that had pictures of me/friends and my dog(which took a lot cause of videos).
uploading rn will post when it's done
Jaxson Hughes
wtf is occ?
Isaac Harris
I know that Lightroom is kinda okay for that but I wanna have a good system of folders so I can dump an entire folder for someone at any point
I.E. A friend is really into Overwatch and they want all of the art I've collected of D.Va or someone, and I could easily dump that folder to them
myself being actually autustic and fucking up OCD but fuck it I'll keep it
Logan Brown
start by organizing by most relevant board
Colton Collins
...
Aaron Brown
Don't use Sup Forums to find my memes and other weird stuff, too much wading through shit to get for some good stuff
looks kind organized but seems like a strictly fap drive
I go by Year and then Professional (personal life) and UN-Professional (Everything else)
Noah Rivera
Try 314k+ Eventually you learn you don't need to save everything. Delete it all and save yourself an addiction before you get too far
Oliver Taylor
Why the fuck and how does some autistic fuck have this much time? I can't believe I used to be like this Junior year Now I just look whenever I'm bored at college or when a game is updating
Benjamin Gray
Already did a purge once, still have those photos on a backup if I ever find a easy solution to organizing. But there are times in life where you think "god I have the perfect image for this" but now you don't have it. I'm a data hoarder.
Brayden Turner
Stop it now also I regret deleting some porn that is now really worth money because of how many people want it won't say who because what's the point Also just organize your shit one day unplug the cat5/cat6 from the modem one day
Matthew Watson
Im pretty autistic about this stuff on my own level. Each file is carefully named and shit, (title)>(keyword)>(creator/starring) et cetera and if an image it must be PNG format. The main body is just random shit then everything else are in subfolders
Isaac Gutierrez
I'm using space separated tags in file names and store everything in one folder. 95k pics. Pros: no need for additional programs, can search from the file picker. Cons: only Windows can open that folder with previews on, rarely file names become too long for Explorer(NTFS supports way longer names, but Explorer remains backwards compatible for some retarded reason).
Liam Lewis
Try 7mil
Bentley King
You can use TagSpaces to tag images and search by tags like you would search a booru-like website. (Note that it's a shitty "web app" that simply renames the files, appending tag names to the file names.)
Isaac King
>Todd Howard nice
Angel Lee
I tried to use Hydrus before but it was a lot to try to learn and wasn't user friendly. Do you suggest it or Lightroom if I can get my hands on it?
What the fuck do you have 7 Million photos of??
I was thinking of getting Lightroom to do some tagging although it would be time consuming as hell
I have good taste. Not a fucking normie
Nathan Reed
Fuck you faggot upload that shit nigger is awesom shitposting folders.
Caleb Watson
Jesus Christ you singlehandedly got Trump elected you madman.
Ethan Martin
Cause I'm just gonna dump my entire QUALITY meme folder when you just say "upload that shit" Fuck you, provide GOOD advise or methods and I might
Sebastian Moore
>korean girl fap >censored porn but why?
Dominic Ortiz
the rush, the adaptation, and the general backwardness of the act
Juan Perez
delete that shit and get a fucking life.
Noah Bailey
i ain't keeping that compromising 4ching shit in an unencrypted manner
>tfw euroshit country with no 1st burger constitutional amendment and state instances that suck globalist oligarch dick >tfw seen popo raid consequences for polposting on facebook IRL
Josiah Foster
>Friends >SIde: 0kb :(
Gabriel Gonzalez
does anyone else have a jew folder full of shilling jew memes?
have fun op. i tried organizing my 20k files once, stopped after like 1k.
Landon Wilson
dump the images here please
Adam Wood
Are you sure they won't just force you to hand over your encryption key anyway?
Liam Diaz
How many of you still have a folder for demotivational posters and what's the creation date of the newest?
Sebastian Thompson
I would use the Hydrus but the UI of it is pretty bad in terms of user-friendliness. Are there skins or themes I could get so it would look/work easier?
ask for that on Sup Forums
Never had one and never will
Julian Reed
stfu, 9 images here won't harm a dead thread
Wyatt Ross
folders never work great. Either use hydrus or host your own image server. I host a booru on a raspberry pi just for my Sup Forums images.
Camden Wilson
Stand back, junior. I've been collecting images for over 10 years. There's more to follow.
Aaron Garcia
You should always have an organized reaction image folder.
Elijah Anderson
If you have a particular interest, you should organize that thoroughly as well. As granular as you can.
Connor Ortiz
First stage is a random Bitlocker volume, but VMware invalidates the Linux virtual machine even when you mount the location of virtual machine.
If you find the VM file and delete it's .lock files, so it starts the thing you see Linux prompt asking to decrypt the Loonix partition.
(Thats why I'm thinking with fucking with grub and making every list entry point to custom kernel init image that would simulate Mint loading going on forever or some sort of bash script that simulates verbose boot sequence, then throws some weird error about defective filesystem sectors and pauses all the input except for certain expected keyboard input that would restart the thing and load the right partition.)
Then there's veracrypt is installed as a command line tool only and it's volumes are masked as backup files of other operating systems installations/VMs.
Then there's a Nightly web browser completely masked as a clean, old ass firefox for windows xp, that keeps no history, sessions or disk cache whatsoever, WebRTC disabled, so no local IP leak, and all the few bookmarks are SHA-256 encrypted. And the few saved logins require master password.
And my ISP keeps everyone under a 1 external IP subnet with Mikrotik access point, so that makes things even more confusing.
And a buddie / employer of mine plans giving me a server computer and a VPN account that his company pays for, that I can use in whatever way I want, cuz he owes me decent sum of money right now.
Logins are stored offline on a random microsd filled up with music and random and files where 1 cover art image file contains encrypted 7z archive with text files.

>How does Sup Forums organize their folders of shit? What year is it? I don't. I let my neural network do trivial stuff like that and whenever I need something I can just use natural language to ask for it
Anthony Perry
I nuked by mistake the HDD where I keep my downloads and now a large part looks like this :( They werent too organised before though, but now Pepe is in the same folder with Spurdo and other PC reaction images :S I have to separate them asap!
Mason Butler
Memes 1 Memes 2 Etc
Joseph Gomez
all of this is available and updated once in a blue moon on animu.date
Luke Collins
Is there a way to add tags to images in windows? I want to set up my reaction folder by different characters, and then tag each picture with what kind of reaction they are portraying.
Andrew Clark
>Unorginized
Oliver Lewis
I want
Brody Torres
I don't save pictures. I just quickly online search an appropriate image and use that. saves space and time organizing.
Nathan Foster
folder: #image: [folder for everything that isn't porn folder for porn pics > subfolder your moms pics folder for politics > subfolder maga folder for nigger-jew-muslim-crime related pics folder for smug + reaction (see pic) folder for webm / wp/bg / doge & co / biz / keep outside ]
no personal pics in there ... those are stored elsewhere
Sebastian Reyes
bullshit with that connection you can seed upwards of 20gigs a day. if you like just seed for a few hours over a period of days, or post incremental additions to mega folder
Jackson Hughes
i need those smug pics pls
Benjamin Price
It really wouldn't, you can upload 50GB no problem so 5GB would be totally reasonable if you superseed it.
Alexander Wood
20gb mess of chan/unix timestamp names, maybe 40% relevant names and semi-organized folders.. I'm slowly picking away at it and no, i'm not uploading it and yes, it's a much older collection than the creation date shown, you fucking moron
Brayden Allen
Something like this. There's over 1000 pics where these folders are at which I need to get to organizing, but I'm lazy as shit. I'm talking 3 years lazy.
Wyatt Robinson
Post the 3D king of the hill one
Dominic Baker
math isn't your strongest huh user
1 / 8 = 0.125
125 * 3600 = 450,000
450,000 * 24 = 10,800,000
10gigs a day in a best case scenario in any way 125KB/s is little
Xavier Nelson
>Do you suggest it or Lightroom if I can get my hands on it? Not the other user but you don't have to use hydrus, you can use pretty much any viewer that supports tags and tagging which is every thumbnail viewer out there and are whole lot more user and gui friendly then hydrus. The only down side is most tend to suck once you build up too many images in 1 folder(which you're nowhere near). Doesn't matter what you use because at the end of the day, tags are a hell of a lot better than folders.
Aiden Powell
>What the fuck do you have 7 Million photos of?? furry porn, obviously
Jack James
Why not create a memebooru? Sounds like the most sane and productive idea.
Kevin Wood
Hydrus. It's pretty easy. But you'll mainly see the advantage on pictures popular with hydrus users, when you can use the shared tags from the ptr.
Cameron Hill
what is in new folder?
Hudson Butler
Look another thread where a bunch of retards show their hoard folders and no one upload anything
James Parker
Spend 12 years collecting images and you can have your own hoard folders too
Leo Hernandez
I did a tagging program in C, it's kind of shit, but it works as a tag program. Tags are done in one file in the directory github.com/grillmaster-t28/sftagger
