What's the best tablet with a good IPS/OLED hidpi screen and stereo speakers (one on each of the short sides)?
Tried out pic related and it was pretty good, but I refuse to purchase Apple products. It's also way too expensive.
Preferably 16:9 or 16:10.

Citation needed. I have owned a Samsung Tab S 10.5 for 2 years and it's just as beautiful as the day I pulled it out the box. It's a premium tablet and everything fits together well and holds up to use.

the 2014 Samsung Tab S 10.5 it has a vastly inferior display to the Air 2 (2014 model year iPad). it doesn't have the premium antireflective coating the iPad Air 2 has. it has a VASTLY inferior processor (Air 2's single core bench is comparable to the Tab S's multi core score). the tab S is also heavier, has a shittier finger print reader, and overall just feels cheaper than the Air 2.

Personally, I have nothing against iPads but I don't understand why you'd want an iPad with a smart keyboard cover.
Why not just get a smart cover sans keyboard? Isn't that literally the entire point of the iPad in the first place; to leave the trackpad and keyboard behind for more casual interactions?

There is no point buying an android tablet.
They are really far behind iPads on every issue. Much less processing power, inferior screen, inferior apps.

The tab S2 was released in 2015 and was sold as late as 2017 and it is no longer receiving updates.
iPad Pro can play a full PC version of Civ VI. It can even play at 3k resolution and still manage 30 FPS end game.
Android tablets can play candy crush.

Can play. iPads are so limited though. You can’t even program on them.
I’m going to make my phone run Linux one day, but it would take a whole day to learn how to do maybe even weeks, I’ll probably have to learn how to write an operating system for the stupid thing.

Don’t buy android tablets. Inferior apps, power, display to iPad. Games are worse, App Store less supported for tablet. Android tablets are generally supported for 2 years while iPads are supported for 4-5.

Not up to date mind you but Android's been stable as fuck since ice cream sandwich...so why I should give a shit is beyond me. Oncr again still works fine and unlike iOS shit isn't getting intentionally gimped by updates.
