What's the best free antivirus for windows?

What's the best free antivirus for windows?

And what about IOS?

bitdefender, i usually keep it off, and just use the file scan once and a while before i run somthing.

Brain.exe

I don't have that, which is why I need an antivirus program.

commom sense 2015

malwarebytes

I don't have that either.

Pretty much this. I download it once every four months just to scan my Pc and then I uninstall it afterwards.

you could try the beta 2018 version

I use eset nod32, I think it does the job

I find that each new version of common sense protects against fewer and fewer exploits. Personally, I run a version released in the 90s and it serves me quite well.

Gentoo

were there even computers in the 90 haha

Winpatrol

Common Sense

Panda

Why?

MSE

It should come installed by default.

emsisoft
not free but you get 30 days to try. On par if not better than kaspersky or bitdefender. I've thrown every ransomware, malware at it and its like 99%, which is top tier level.

Win 8/10's built-in Defender is good enough
MSE is unobtrusive but learned from experience it can fail against zero-day ransomware.
Malwarebytes is good for spy/adware but its virus detection I hear is pretty shoddy
Bitdefender I hear good things about
If for family Sophos have a free AV with web portal to check status on all installed devices

GNU+Linux.
>a.k.a. Common Sense

thanks for the nostalgia

Common Sense. It is also available for OS X and Linux

Windows is malware. Uninstall it.

GNU/Linux*

Yes, GNU/Linux.

What's the best free virus for Windows?

Bitdefender Free Edition is one of the most decent ones.

This is the best AV. The 2009 version is still all you need, even in 2018.

...

Avast is pretty good, just make sure do Custom install and ONLY install the File Shield and not the 9000 other shitty things the marketing department has cooked up.

common sense died in the early 00s.

are you a currynigger getting paid to shill this or what

Obviously Clamwin master race

Avast Business - Free Edition

>Avast Business - Free Edition
Unironically this! It actually does what it's supposed to.

Don't fall for the common sense meme. People who try to shill common sense are malware writers wanting you to become vulnerable.

My favorite was Bozio Buddy. Wildtangent was also good. Axe's Mojo master FTW.

Windows defender.

I do the same thing. I don't want a real time scanner and other antivirus behavior/bloat installed all the time.
