This thread is for the discussion of the language, culture, travel, daily life, etc. of Japan. Let's tark at randam in Japanese and English. Take it easy!
I don't know why but the mod deleted the previous thread... there was an active discussion going on.

I always recommend people who visit Tokyo or Kyoto for the first time to take a guided bus tour. I know lots of people think it's corny, but it's efficient and save lots of time and money. You don't miss must-see places, and your guide will tell you important backgrounds as well.
Oliver Ramirez
Why do foreigners come to japan speak english? Do they think it is common for japanese to speak englihs? why are they so rude? they should speak japanese in Japan.
Oliver Gonzalez
You study French to visit France?

Other thread deleted and you silly anons made a new thread when there's another one from 3 hours ago with 39 replies so I'll post my response again here.
I'm going to be using some pre-planned itineraries for my 2-day Kyoto trip, and in Tokyo I'll be mostly going to concerts and rock/idol festivals including both nights of Babymetal's Tokyo Dome concerts.
Is there any unique and interesting places to visit or especially to eat at in Tokyo or Kyoto? I'm thinking of staying at an onsen during my stay in Kyoto by the way.
Thank you!
Angel Gonzalez
Did you start this thread?

No, I will never go to Indonesia because I don't want to understand Indonesian. I might go to Philippine because english is native language for them.
Owen Watson
>Babymetal's Tokyo Dome concerts
Are you actually that serious about them?
Zachary Martinez
>english is native language for them ....you are kidding, right?
Cooper Foster
The first night is already sold out and it looks like the second night will too. This will be my 23rd and 24th time seeing them this year with no regrets.

Why don't you arrange to meet pantsuya in Kyoto? You and he might have very good time together talking about Babymetal over beer or something.
Oh, what you meant by "going to" wasn't just being a tourist but staying for a while? Then, yeah, I think they should study Japanese in prior to their arrival.

>official language Thank you for the reference to Wikipedia. However, being an official language doesn't mean people of the country speak it as a native language. For example, French and English are offical languages in Canada, but a lot of people speak French as a second language or don't speak it at all.

I think he should be going to the concerts as well. I'll contact him and see what he says.
So no interesting places to eat in Tokyo huh? If you guys were to visit Canada o could give some pretty good recommendations.

There are literally thousands of good places to eat in Tokyo. It's not easy to make recommendations without knowing what kind of food you enjoy.

It's shit. They've always tried to be edgy for the sake of being edgy like some cringy 14-year old, the only difference now is that it's not directed at muslims or whatever, but the west, so suddenly everyone throws a fit.

Many French believe that there should be no exception to freedom of speech/expression, even if it may offend other people's faith and increase the chance of getting retaliated by violence or terrorism. Any thoughts?
